Stop getting boinked in the head due to failing factory trunk support springs and upgrade to an FFP trunk gas shock kit for your 1979-1993 Mustang coupe or convertible! Whether the factory torsion springs have failed or are just missing from your Mustang, it can be quite annoying for the trunk to close on you when being used. Upgrading to an FFP gas shock-style support setup can alleviate these issues while adding modern styling. This kit consists of CNC-machined billet aluminum brackets that bolt to existing holes in the chassis for a solid lower mounting point for each gas shock. The factory trunk lid bolt hole will be reused in order to mount the pivot stud to the deck lid of your Fox Body for the upper mount. This allows the high-pressure gas-filled struts to support the weight of your trunk lid easily with no fabrication required! The beautifully machined billet aluminum brackets are supplied in a natural finish to add a pop of shine to your trunk when it's open for an extra custom touch. FFP's trunk shock kit is proudly made in the USA to uphold high-quality standards and fitment!

Unfortunately, we don't announce plans for future parts! Just stay up-to-date with our emails, social posts, and RUclips videos! With that being said, we're hoping to one day have trunk liners. -Landan

Couldn't you install the kit first and then take the torsion springs out? That way there's no need for prop rods or chance of the trunk lid falling on your head. Thanks for the awesome parts inventory and videos!!

We simply followed the steps that FPP Customs provided with the kit. It is recomended to start things off, is to remove the factory torsion springs.

Has anyone ever seen these used on a convertible to replace the factory coil type lifts?

They'll look and function the same as they do on a Coupe. -Landan

Why would anyone replace the torsion springs with this kit. The gas filled struts over time will fail, while the torsion springs will last a life time.

Might give you more room for subs if you’re an audio guy or air tank if you’re on bags. It ain’t me but I’m sure there’s a market there for some folks
