  • UPDATE!!!! That lower piece that I thought couldn’t be removed can. It is on the bottom corner of each side. There is a 9 mm nut. If you can’t remove cause it spins you can still pry off and will have to replace bracket. Latemodel Restorations new brackets changes the design flaw. You will have to source your own nuts with the new brackets.
Fixing bumpers wanted to share. Inside the hatch 4 nuts under neath the taillight nuts. Then 3 nuts per rear corner. FORGOT TO MENTION IN VID get underneath the car on each rear lower section of the GT 2 nuts facing towards the rear of the car. Last get the 6 plastic fasteners that are directly underneath the rear bumper. 9mm deep socket and wrench for all the nuts.

Great video man and thanks for the warning on the little metal piece, never understood people that want to do things in a hurry, it just about always ends in disaster, take your time and if it dont come off dont force it,just try to find whats happening and whats holding it down.

Thank you so much! I’m going through the same thing with my bumper and I was scared I was going to break the bracket trying to remove it!

They came off another GT. The Passenger side is a NOS. I owned an 87 Black GT and never liked the same body color graters.

Can you tell me how to remove the ground effects on the rear passenger side that hook into the bumper? The drivers side I see the 3 bolts in the trunk but on passenger side is the gas neck. Are the bolts hidden under it?

porsche962lemans to remove completely? There are 2 more bolts on each side opposite of the 3. If you get underneath the car you will see them I put it in the description cause I forgot to mention in the video. You will see they will need to be pried off even after you remove the bolts. They have prongs that go into the lower metal.
