Thanks for the great stories on two of my idols when I was a kid, I miss them both.
I was lucky to visit the museum when it was in Victorville as I was stationed at Nellis AFB, NV. Amazing! Trigger was there, the lunch boxes, records, etc., erc., etc. Sad to hear it is gone.
Dusty, thanks for your parents and your song about your dad.
The past is truly another country.
Roy I have to tell you one time I went to a singles dance dressed as a cowgirl. I had a red shirt and denim jeans and a red cowboy hat with a silver maple leaf and three flashing red lights on it. as soon as I walked in somebody said theres Dale Evans. I got so much out of that. I live in Ontario Canada and I always loved Roy and Dale and Trigger and Buttermilk. They were and still are my heroes.
I loved Roy Roger's from the age of 5. My dad was jealous of him. Lol as I liked him so much
Lovely Dale is shown ( unfortunately rarely ) wearing fancy cowboy ranch pants similar to Roy's Nudie smile pocket and accent piping trim to accent pockets, pant leg seam. Great looking cowboy pants for male and of course beautiful women look very sassy, foxy in men's pants.
Dale Evans was a role model on and off the screen. I encourage everyone to read what writer Elizabeth Sherrill had to say about her!
Dont forget Annie Oakley who was also an iconic role model for America. Her and Dale were both absolute legends.
Dale Evans' roles varied from film to film...usually she played an independent woman or city gal who wasn't that crazy about cowboys, horses or the west..but she didn't always ride a horse and hardly ever fired a gun. It wasn't until the TV show that she got Buttermilk a gelding which she could handle and carried a pistol. It was a .38 police revolver but she didn't do the trick shooting that Annie Oakley(Gail Davis) did.
I'm 63 and my mom is 92. When I'm at her house she won't let me watch Roy Rogers as its too violent!
Sandy was adopted from my home town of Frankfort ky
That’s hilarious 😂🤣
You're the reason there's no longer a Roy Rogers museum. Moving the museum cross country and losing everything is about as reckless as anyone could be.
To much light in the background makes it hard to see his face clearly which makes for a bad video.
