I met Roy Rogers when I managed a restaurant in Victorville, They were both great and the nicest people you could ever meet. He was my boyhood hero. May God bless them both. We need them today!

I lived .6 miles away from Roy and Dale. I used to tell people...we're neighbors. Very quite people. Have a few wonderful stories of them. Two of the greatest people. The world needs more people like these two icons.

I've seen The Roy Rogers Show on Cable tv, what amazed me about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans is that they're stories were inspiring to kids and young cowfolks everywhere. Me and my grandpa loves Roy Rogers and Dale evans. Happy Trails to you, until we meet Again.

I was born in 1934, and Roy Rogers was the love of my life. I simply adored him. I got goose-bumps every time I heard him sing. My 2nd cousin Jerry Amstrutz was just as much as fan as I was, and we loved getting together and sharing our newest 78 RPM records of Roy singing. I had more than one scrapbook filled with clippings and pictures of Roy Rogers and his family and movies

I was born in 1951, so I also grew up watching Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on my family's black and white TV. Like the lone Ranger and Zorro, Roy and Dale where our role models. Everybody knew that Roy's horse was called trigger, but I wonder how many people remember that Dale's horse was called Buttermilk. Every one of their shows ended with their theme song, Happy Trails. My entire family would join in and sing along.
I'm now 71 years old and I still watch old episodes of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, the lone ranger, Zorro and so on and so on because magically I'm a kid once again, even if it's only for 30 minutes.

I have beautiful memories of Forest Home down the road from The Lodge at Mears Lake where Roy Rogers & Dale Evans used to preside over meetings, whatever it was they did I wasn't there but the vibe remained. She also spoke at our church, Hollywood First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, California. I was a young girl and loved Forest Home and all this was tied up with my love of horses and the old west, shown to me by the movies they made. What a wonderful childhood gift they gave me. Rest in Peace, Roy & Dale. Blessings....

Roy Rogers' show on Saturday mornings was part and parcel of the Baby Boomers childhoods. Along with other Saturday morning fare (The Cisco Kid, Sky King, Tarzan, The Lone Ranger, etc.)), it was a pleasant interlude between school days and Sunday. I will never forgive myself for not visiting (they frequently met with visitors to their "museum") when I first moved to CA to tell them both how much that show meant at the time, singing "Happy Trails" at the end of each "and they all lived peacefully in law and order after" shows.

Here in Ireland in the fifties the highlight of the week was going to see a Roy Rogers movie. I have a collection of Roy and Dale on DVD and enjoy showing them to my grand kids.
We so enjoyed the matinees back then, along with Roy there was Gene, Hoppy, Rex and many more. They just don't make them like that any more.

Thank you for the video. Roy Rogers was very popular in México too, I used to read his comics every week in the 50´s and of course saw his movies. One question, why are there three crosses in each tumb ?

Wedgenut Tanker, that was a silly question on my part, specially being a catholic, it´s just that here in méxico we use one cross only, thank you for your answer

The narration near the end about the house originally sitting on 67 acres is incorrect. The "67 acres" is a reference to Roy and Dale's ranch in Oro Grande, about a half-hour's drive north from the house. A lot of people confuse the two.
