Wow. Thank you Thank you for having Mabel Fairbanks the first African American figure skater grave shown. I bet you there are alot of people who do not know of her existence.
She was way more then that , she was even able to get access to ballpoint pens ( that was not available to the public yet ) to write that diary ...what a magician she was .
@@Landofmyfathers-h9c I have to ask if you LISTENED to the story behind the memorial? Anne Frank's story is not being 'claimed' by Americans. This is simply a quite lovely tribute to her and her school girl dreams of going to Hollywood one day. I truly think she'd like the idea of being remembered where some of the very same Hollywood stars are laid to rest that she must have watched on film. Her diary was the basis for a successful and popular film & telling her story helps keep her memory alive and the horror of the holocaust relevant. How can any of that be construed as anything but respectful? I will make the case that Anne Frank has become a symbol of hope for the world and as such All countries should be honoring her memory.
I met her in N.Y. she was such a lovely gracious lady!!!!! She loved that I had the same name as her husband!!!! When she died I cried for 3 days straight!!!! She is making God laugh now
Thank you for this @Hollywood Graveyard. My great great grandfather, Richard La Reno, and great grandfather, Eddie Phillips, were in the silent films and are both buried here- one by the mausoleum and the other in Secret Gardens. My great great grandfather, Richard La Reno, played Big Bill in The Squaw Man, Buffalo Bill on the U.P. Trail, and Black Orchids, as well as many other Cecil B Demille films.. My great grandfather, Eddie Phillips, was in the 20's silent film series The Collegians and over 100 other silent shorts/films... I grew up looking at pictures of them while on set, hung up in my grandmother's home... The family stories I've heard of Hollywood in those days is something I treasure.
The fact that you took down a video that already had a decent amount of views because it had errors & re-uploaded the corrected version (which in doing so, obviously makes it so you lost all those views) is one of the many reasons why you guys are one of the best channels on You Tube. Your integrity is stellar.
Exactly, Arthur has never ever been snotty, stuck up or rude. He takes all feedback good or bad seriously, with each new video you can see the results of the feedback in some way or another. Any mistakes made get corrected very quickly. The whole thing is excellent, extremely well researched, and respectful of the dead. I really do hope this will be picked up by a TV network eventually so an even wider audience can enjoy it and also so it gets the wider praise it deserves. The format is perfect for TV.
If you ever visit this again, you should talk about Tamara Toumanova. She was a Russian Ballet dancer and made her film debut alongside Gregory Peck in 'Days Of Glory'. She's buried in the Garden of Legends by Cecil B Demil, near the lake. I'm related to her, and my mother took care of her in her final days, as well as her mother. She was quite influential in the Ballet world, and has quite an interesting life story. For sure deserving of her spot in the Garden. Look for the whispering Cherub by the lake, and you'll find her foot marker
Watching these videos are relaxing for me. It is odd that I have a death ☠️ anxiety 😦 issues and I find these videos awesome and educational. I love them for finding old movies and music to listen too. It helps me remember all the movies I have seen. These cemeteries are so well maintained.
@Andrea Alta I have death anxiety too! Normally I can't handle or be around any of the death stuff, death industry due to that, it all makes me physically uncomfortable. I came across Arthur's channel Summer 2019 and watched it just out of curiosity really expecting to not be able to handle it but it surprised the hell out of me. It's so incredibly well researched, presented, and he's got a great narration voice too. I'm not at all a fan of most RUclipsrs and their "content", I think most of it is downright pathetic but Arthur's been an entirely different story, he earned a subscription from me! That says so much about him and it's a huge compliment considering my death anxiety. The Special themed episodes are incredible too! When I'm watching Hollywood Graveyard I'm totally fine, there's no anxiety because he talks about their actual lives and accomplishments! I will say some of these cemeteries are unreal, this one in particular is well really a resort hotel for the dead, I'm not sure whether to be impressed or creeped out at that! I hope Arthur continues with this for years to come!
Although I have zero passion for Hollywood celebrities and what they stand for I adore your videos and your filmmaking thank you for your entertainment.
My dad was one of the first allies to go through the gates of Bergen-Belsen, he seldom spoke of what he saw but what he did say I can only imagine what poor Anne Frank went through.
My dad was there too. He brought photos home which my mother but me & my two sisters found them & will never forget what we saw. It still doesn’t see me possible that humans could do such things. My dad burned the photos after this but you can’t “unsee” what you’ve seen. 😰
My uncle was one of the first through the gates also. He is in the iconic picture of the commando in the tank, holding the gun going through the gates.
My mum Anne had a very old copy of the diary of Anne Frank...I bought her new version few years back when I visited the house and went on the tour...so strange, glad I have been there and it's true all Anne's cut outs of movie stars still glued to bedroom wall , perspex cover to protect them

I was just surprised and smiling so much to see Peter Bruni. Disneyland Showtime was something my dad taped when it was on the Disney channel in the late 90s and we watched it a lot. (And I still do cause it's on youtube.) So when you said he played Mr. Gridley, I was like, "Well, look at that, and thanks for remembering someone who was such a big part of my childhood.
I remember when this place was in shambles. I’m so happy it’s back to beauty and that the lake was finally cleaned. I do have to say that when in disrepair the rotunda was super creepy with vines growing through broken window and the tree in the center was dead.the whole place was covered in cobwebs and dead leaves. It was like being in a Vincent Price movie👍
I wish all RUclips channels were like your own. You treat the subject with so much respect, dignity and knowledge that you truly are a resource for public edification and enlightenment.
This is one of the most interesting channels on RUclips, love hearing about the people who are buried there and their back stories. Anne Franks story is always heartbreaking and the fact that she was sent to Bergen-Belsen, my father was one of the first allied forces through the gates of that hell hole.
Rance Howard used to take his sons Ron and Clint to the pro wrestling matches at the old Olympic Auditorium in L.A. The character of Mr. Strongbow on The Andy Griffith Show was named for wrestler and promoter/booker Jules Strongbow, who appeared as a heavy in several movies, including :The Road to Morocco, with Bob Hope & Bing Crosby..
That was a beautiful speech that you gave about the story of Anne Frank, and what she and her family had to endure back then. Anne and Margot died too early on, to the hands of insane and evil people. But the legacy of the entire Frank family will forever live. What a story, fantastic job. ❤️
It was an amazing touching fabulous and lovely tribute from Hollywood Forever to donate a niche for a year to Hollywood Graveyard to display your well deserved you tube award. I watched the first version of this video in hospital recovering from covid. It lifted my spirits and made my stay in hospital more bearable and I’m sure somehow helped my quick recovery. Best wishes. Brian

I love your videos. My husband & I visited his older sister in Santee, CA over the holidays in 2018. We took a road trip up to LA while there. We're hoping to visit again in the next couple years.
I also agree. Anne Frank story is truly touching and educational. I cried just listening to some of the survival stories. I think schools should educate their students about this horrific abuse that they had to endure instead of teaching about ones sexuality.
Another great video. The way you speak is amazing.I could listen to you describe grass growing and love it. And the part about Anne Frank was touching.
You do such an amazing job you have such an excellent and thorough in your research about all of these celebrities, writers, musicians etc .. great job love ❤️ your voice.

Very nice. Music isn't overly loud but still could be lowered. Narrator has a pleasant voice and the content is informative . Nice shots of cemetery and various buildings. Thanks!
To visit & admire Hollywood Forever Cemetery was at the very top of my bucket list. Every episode of Hollywood Graveyard that you put out on Hollywood Forever intrigued me even more so. The history & backstories that you presented with each celebrity is amazing and authentic. I got to visit Hollywood Forever Cemetery a little over a year and a half ago. Arthur should visit Colma, CA -- "The City of the Dead." Not only is Joe DiMaggio buried in Colma, but so is Wyatt Earp. In fact, brothers Wyatt, Morgan, James and sister Adelia Earp are all buried in California.
I was 14 years old when we went to see the Anne Frank house. I reread her diary while we were there. I know it sounds crazy but I could feel her fear of being discovered. It made quite an impression on me.
I really enjoy your work its like a history lesson watching your videos. Could we see videos about sit-com stars? I really like the tribute you did to Anne Frank.
You should receive an Academy Award for what you do. Extremely thorough and thoughtful research. Your voice and manner of delivery are perfect.
Well said!
Agreed
Ann Frank did achieve her dreams. She became a great writer and is beloved the world over. Her father helped with that. God bless them.
Yes but she didn't get to see it become reality or enjoy it when it did

Rest In Peace to Anne and Margot Frank. Sad they didn’t get to live longer and celebrate the war finally ending. Gone too soon and too young
💔😞
We read that in school, whenever I feel like my life sucks I think about people like that, they really did have a reason to be sad.
I was 14 years old when we went to see the Anne Frank house. I reread her diary while we were there. I know it sounds crazy but I could feel her fear of being discovered. It made quite an impression on me.
@@kathychick4340 I can imagine what they felt and it’s not good. I don’t how they didn’t go nuts before they were even found. Sad
Thank you so much by sharing the beautiful plots and cemetery’s!!!!! When I was young I played in one! They always intrigued me!
A beautiful cemetery
I really enjoy your work its like a history lesson watching your videos. Could we see videos about sit-com stars? I really like the tribute you did to Anne Frank.
I'll never visit California, but Hollywood Forever is the one place that I'd love to visit if the opportunity arose.
