Anyone remotely interested in art and more specifically impressionist art needs to check this out. So well done.
Totally the best and the way he leads up to a particular fact like why is he out there digging with a shovel in the forest? Oh, it’s because they wanted to lower their canvases into the ground, to a height that they could paint. What?!?! Why didn’t they use the ladder?
Waldemar's story telling videos are among the best on the internet. I can't get enough of his enthusiastic, brilliant, insightful, and engaging presentations.

One of my absolute favorite lines of his, out of thousands (and I've watched almost all. ) Was his line about the goths, not the historical goths but the sad imos, the ones dressed in all black, and usually covered in tattoos, he said something like, I think they just need a hug. 🤗🤗. I am obsessed with learning about the Masters and their stunning works. I so wish I lived in Europe to visit all the art museums instead of Chicago. This is truly enlightened film making my friend, a vision fully realized. THANK YOU.
Hello from Uruguay, I have been watching videos from this channel since last year and they are amazing. I love Waldemar's way of explaining art. Anyone else from Uruguay who has been watching them?
Thank You Waldemar. You visit my bucket list locations. I got in an accident that left me paralyzed so all of it is moved to the “if” column. Now I get everything on my television. Thank You for stunning content.

At age 13 I fell in love at first sight with an art print of Monet’s “The Poppy Field Near Argenteuil”, and began reading about the French Impressionists. I was also learning to draw. Years later I taught myself to paint. To this day my favorites are Monet and Renoir.
I totally agree, I felt like I knew very little before Waldemar, I've never had the opportunity in life to even go to an art gallery, (I'm not totally ignorant to art or understanding and interpreting it nor enjoying it though), he brings them into a light you've never seen before and you get a real sense of the art and artists and the times when they lived. Thank you Waldemar you have a gift for educating and expressive storytelling thats made art such a beautiful experience.
Waldemar is such an engaging story teller- brings great art to life with humour and astonishing knowledge. My most favourite art historian ever. Children who aren’t interested in Art would be entertained and educated if this was shown in schools.
His videos are so well made. I’m no expert, but all of the different shots (like with the pig, carrying the canvas, narrating from the boat on the Seine, etc) are absolutely incredible.
Those Cassat character studies really do hit you right between the eyes. I'd never seen them before, only the famous mother and child painting. They're bloody amazing.

Wonderful Waldemar 😍 What an absolute joy . I don’t pretend to know much about art , but I was so enthralled by this wonderful series. The humour, the music…perfect. Thank you for this ❤️
This was very informative and extremely entertaining. Waldemar is the tour guide of art and makes you want to take every trip with him that you can go on. This is my first trip and I am looking forward to another one already.
About 20 years ago my mother (now deceased) audited an Ari History class on Impressionest artists at Penn State Uiniversity, near her home. She did this to enhance her appreciation of an upcoming vacation in Paris. I accompanied her on that trip and we spent a good deal of time at the Musée d'Orsay, studying many of those artists and their paintings. Thanks to my second-hand educaion I still remember them in vivid detail. Thank you for renewing my education, and my time in Paris with Mother.

This was such a great gateway into the world of Impressionism, Waldemar truly makes you fall in love with the works. This video was an excellent way for my family to get into art and enjoy it. Please make more videos!
This is my first discovery of Waldemar, and I am hooked. I painted a series on Monet's waterlilies in pastel, and was pleased to see it featured in one segment. The softness of the look and pure color in the pigment is unmatched in any other medium. I will continue to follow him.
Wow. I woke up at 430 am with this playing on my iPhone and I’ve been transfixed since. The fascinating commentary, matched with visitation to the actual places these paintings were done, and the sweeping and dramatic piano playing, make this a masterpiece of its own. I want to re-watch the entire thing now. Amazing and well done.

Hi Eric, Hi ftom New Orleans. I love watching Art School live, right now, to just be able to relax and enjoy all the different artists and their varied techniques. I moved into my current house about 5 years ago. I've done almost nothing but fix all the hidden problems. Then there were the 2 car wrecks and a bunch of surgeries back to back. Too much fun. Too little time for art. Much less anything else. I'm trying to get my art groove back and you and Art School Live are getting me there. I teach all levels of drawing and paint in watercolor and oils. Even went back to school and got an associate degree in fine arts (already have 2 other degrees!). Won ribbons from local art groups. Even turned a small bedroom into an "art studio". So ASL is my carrot, my door to open and breathe in art. I'll send you photos of my art of you'd like. At some point I will be at one of your conferences. Again. Thanks for sharing your art and your kindness. Thanks for multitasking and sharing. Reachel Mayeur
I didn't care for Waldemar initially, but the algorithm kept pushing him at me for some reason, and he really grew on me. I never really cared for impressionism, but his deeply interested and personal storytelling changed my view. I've come to really savor his episodes, perhaps especially those on subjects I care the least about.
A big thank you to the producer of this documentary. This is a really fascinating and educational documentary. One of the best I have seen in my life time thus far.
really enjoyed this "deep dive'. Beyond the artists and their muses but also the equipment they used and why there were changes at that time, geographic influences.
Waldemar is so informed and knowledgeable with respect to art and art history yet is so entertaining and enjoyable to watch and learn from. He is so down to earth with a great sense of humor. You feel like he's right in your living room talking to you. Which of course he is. 😅 3:17:46
Sir, this was a joy to watch this documentary. It is extremely successful in transmitting the Impressionist movement. I'm in art school and just covered Impressionism, you provided a whole lot of information that is crucial. Great job in this documentary, I saw the whole thing on one sitting while doing homework. The subtle moments of comedy were good as well.
I love his passion. He actually turned me into Charles Barques book from 1860, and am working my way through it, like Van Gogh. Good enough for Vincent, good enough for me
Always loved the impressionists but this guy puts a different angle on the why's and where's and sat here at 6.30 in the morning after watching for an hour i am now watching my neighbours chimney shadows thinking how would Monet have painted what I can see . Brilliant Video.
Excellent!! Just when you thought you knew everything about the Impressionists... My GRAND GRIPE, however, is that about 15 minutes in total was given to the 3 amazing, leading female painters of the movement (there were dozens of female Impressionists), carrying on the tradition of males ignoring women of accomplishment through the ages.
Thank you for replying to my comment on another video where I asked how to pronounce Januszczak phonetically. Perspectives spelled it out for me and I've bee practicing. I'm still having trouble. But nearly got it. Thank you again. I love ARTTTT !
You're awesome to have patiently delve and analyze to the dot and details, of the works of the Impressionist painters of the bygone century and era and the emotion you squeezed from everyone one of them THAT MADE ME MISTY EYED, on how lonely and isolated their lives while they produced the most beautiful yet puzzling art works in their lifetime and period. While we in this century do things in an almost instantaneous manner coz we do not have the luxury of time to spare. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mind to us. I learned a lot. More of these Perspective if you have time. Kudos!
Thank you, Waldemar! Love your films! You are so engaging, and your storytelling is so enjoyable. Wonderful to learn all about art! I can't seem to stop watching!
This is excellent, in-depth education. When viewing the impressionist art at D’Orsay, we enjoyed viewing the pieces up close, then in turn viewing them all from the center of the room, at a distance. However, there was not time for study this extensive at that time. Thank you.
Truly appreciate the combining the video series!! I love just watching everything in order all way through! Art history is something I should have pursued. Are there any text books that you can recommend??
HourS of Valdemar! YES! Thank you Mr. Yanossushak and ANY others with responsibility for the content and time allocated to Perspective. edit: I see you've been dieting lately Please do not carry it too far; stay healthy. I dropped to 97 pounds at a height of 176 cm and I've suffered ever since, with little prospect of improvement since I'm almost 80.
When I first put paint on canvas my heart knew what Waldemar explains so well my vision the first time I was mesmerized by a Monet and the revolution of the eye.
This guy was born to do this. Love the eccentric narration and humor. I could watch these all day.
I do watch them all day

One of the best in all the series. Thanks. 80 year old artist and history, art history buff...you still manage to add to my knowledge.
I love all the background you give about the artists' lives. Thank you for another interesting documentary.

These are some of my favorite artists. Pissarro and Monet especially have impressed me.
And Waldemar unleashed The Impressionists! THANKS SO MUCH!
Unbelievably brilliant. What a great teacher/historian
A big thank you to the producer of this documentary. This is a really fascinating and educational documentary. One of the best I have seen in my life time thus far.
I watched his documentaries over and over....there are incredible!!! Keep it up...please
omg I was hooked from the beginning. I LOVE his enthusiasm!
really enjoyed this "deep dive'. Beyond the artists and their muses but also the equipment they used and why there were changes at that time, geographic influences.
I love you Waldemar Januszczak ❤😍😅! The best series about impressionists (including books) ever.
Binge watching at its best. Thanks Waldy!
I’m in heaven watching this. So enlightening and inspiring. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for replying to my comment on another video where I asked how to pronounce Januszczak phonetically. Perspectives spelled it out for me and I've bee practicing. I'm still having trouble. But nearly got it. Thank you again. I love ARTTTT !
Totally agree with most of the comments here: Waldemar is a great art educator, very entertaining. BRAVO!!!!!
Give this man love. He deserves it.
Apart from Walderma ‘s passion for his subject, he is sooo funny
WALDEMar !

Many Thanks.
Kudos!
I'm so happy I found this channel again. I had watched so many of the episodes (binged them)! This is an awesome channel! The information is amazing!
Almost 4 hours gone quickly
Very interesting ,funny ,and colourful
I love Impressionists ,and when Mister Waldemar talking its wonderful
What a joy these documentaries are. Thank you so much.
Yes! I also love to watch them in order..
I would recomend "Curious George"
I never get tired of watching these!
I'm loving the earthy humorous interpretation.
Yes....yay! Saturday afternoon cleaning my home office... thankful for this in the background!
When I first put paint on canvas my heart knew what Waldemar explains so well my vision the first time I was mesmerized by a Monet and the revolution of the eye.
