I was born 1960, and watched these Roasts during my teens, and even as early as 1972, when I was in 5th grade.They were hilarious, and Rickles made them even more funny. I am so glad I got to watch prime time tv during 1965-1979, when it was all new.
The fumiest part was watching Don laugh - sign of a truly great comedian - he dishes it out and knows how to take it in good humor... RIP Don: you gave us many hours of sheer laughter to brighten our days...

Charlie Callas is incredibly funny. His facial expressions; his body movements; the different voices he used and the sounds he would make are so far beyond the hilarity of others. I'll even say, with no apologies, that he is the comedian that Robin Williams tried to be.
We saw Charlie Callas on a Universal Studios tour one time in the 70s . He walked by our tram and as he passed he turned his head towards us and stuck out his tongue and made a sound of "WAAAAHH". It's an unforgettable personal memory of a fantastic comic. RIP Charlie...We love you.

Foster Brooks, was always great, their will never be a another like him, I been blessed to be living in his time, and he will be remembered as one of the great comedians in his time.
How many people realize that Callas is doing an impersonation of Georgie Jessle a comedian of the 30’s &40’s and Toastmaster of the original Friars Club. He was known around Hollywood for doing the eulogies at many of the celebrity funerals of the 50’s & 60’s. That’s why this bit is done as Rickles eulogy.

I remember this hilarious man from when i was a preteen. All these decades later of disregarding and forgetting who he was, but r,embering in an instantly what his schtick was, reminded me how many others I delightfully remembered for their laughs they gave me. In this #homejailing chinaflucrisis im devoting a pile of time to find their works.... Brooks was a fave too... And all those others Ive long since stopped thinking about. Far greater comedians than any today, it was an era clearly superior

Here in the UK we never saw any of these shows. So it's great to watch them. Really funny and entertaining. Even in 2022 they are still hilarious.
