I Only Bought This Mouse Because You Showed That You Can Delete Parts Of The Clips Before And After The Playhead...
Is That Only On Final Cut Pro? Can I Do That On Premiere Pro As Well?
What editing software that you use?
@@HelloMellowXVI as a Gamer slash editor now lol, Look in the the Term Binding. It is how you connected a button to a function. Like fire or heal. this is more hot keys. So if you know what you are looking for. You can find it and learn fast. Took me time to understand the terms too.

Eliminate distractions
me distracting myself from editing with this video
Damn I was about to comment this exact same thing
Or watching multiple times to commit to memory
"I should go edit... ooooh a video on how to edit faster!"
And here I am not editing.
@@CarlCrafts omg same. I have an idea for my channel and the direction I want to take it. What am I doing? Watching Twitter reaction vids lol
hahahahha same
A tip for your excellent tip-filled video. Leave some space for your end cards so there is time for the viewer to click on the video! ✌️
I knooooooow right
Dam. I just checked out your channel and holy shit!!!!! Your store has van life merch and travel guides. How flipping cool is that shit? Do many people see your books??
Fudge! Here we go down the Kombi rabbit hole tonight. Lol. Mine as well count me as a viewer today.
And that's how ya get some more views and subs right there. By posting comments on other creators vids and peaking others curiosity to check yer channel out without asking them to do so
And I am in Alaska so Hasta Alaska toyou2
I’ll agree with that one. I had to restart twice and scrub to the end.
That said this has been one of the most beneficial videos for me. Thank you!
You’re wrong, it makes viewers play back the video for an extra 10-5 seconds, adding to retention boosting his alg
Haha! I hate to admit it but that’s true. At least for me. But not everyone will have the desire to chase the end card.
My BIGGEST struggle is watching my videos while I edit, this is such a time killer. You gave some solid and concise advice! I'm gonna use these tips for sure!
Me too
ik man, it's so fun to watch your own work and feel proud about it, but sadly, it kills time
@@horseshoe804 SO TRUE!
it's literally what editing is dude, literally........ you cut, you watch, you change, you move on, you come back, you watch, you change, until it's right.... jesus christ!
@@article1934yeah I feel like it's essential to rewatch the clip. How am I supposed to know if theres flaws to change it if I don't review it?

Great tips! Thx
Thx 😊❤
In heaven there is a place for people like you 😎😎😎💐💐💐
It's so annoying that creators (especially one's like this that make videos on creating videos) who don't put chapters because they "think more people will watch through"... Just make things easy for your audience right?
Anyways... Bless you Joha =D
7- Advertisment for his other video 5:31
Just an insight into one new subscriber: I was recommended your new video about getting monetised in 6 weeks, I watched the whole thing and then the recommended video at the end. I've now been recommended another two of your videos and they're informative without being too long and repetitive. It's great! I hope you continue to grow!
This is literally my same situation too
Same
This is so true, one more thing I’m really bad is file management. Would you help me for a file management lessons.
You are indian ?
make the clips and audio files separately so your edit will be fast enough!

Dang, perfect timing for this video. I was just agonizing over how long editing a video every single week takes. Just ordered that mouse lol.
I can 100% relate to accidentally making my editing sessions 6+ hours long. 😂 Fantastic video, as always!
only just discovered the channel, thank you so much honestly
💯
The algorithm has done its job once again. I have sufficiently binged this channel. Thank you for all the invaluable content!! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Me too, so good. I’m making sure to comment and like comments to help him out. Deserves a bigger following for the quality of the content.
Editing in levels is such a good idea. I have been struggling to figure out how to reduce time because I feel like I constantly edit something and then remove it 5 minutes later, or remove something and then 5 minutes later decide that I want it back in. Determining the narrative first is gonna help so mych
Mapping the mouse buttons is brilliant! I have an MX Master and it never actually occurred to me to do that! This was so helpful. It’s hard when you’re trying to learn to edit but you also work multiple full time jobs. I’ll take any time savers anyone can offer!
that galaxy flip tho 😁💪
Its taken months for people to notice that phone! I love it!
@@FilmBooth exactly! I saw it and instantly jumped to comment section, only to realize there's no one who noticed, oo come on!
I was wondering where you were :D As usual insane camera angles and love the jokes sprinkled inn :)
haha im not going anywhere, just the business has got busy, back to weekly uploads for a bit now
i can wholeheartedly recommend the "one process after another > plain from start to finish". It saves so much time. Really good tip
Thank you so much for the tip on the Logitech mouse. Just invested in one. Amazing! It takes a little getting used to, but I’m already seeing a HUGE difference in editing speed.
You are making the best quality content on yt right now! Not just sitting and throwing words, video presentation, b roll , content all top notch
Hats off!
Really hope you blow up!
Thank you :)
Completely agree, real stuff here, no fluff reciting RUclips on CTR and retention rates!
I agree, Ed is so genuine and to the point with valuable, relevant content
Mate, your channel became my favorite this year! Great stuff!
Great video! Thanks again for challenging me and providing me with helpful content to make me a better editor. I totally agree with the editing process; I also edit in levels. Didn't start out doing it that way, but definitely a good correction for me. Thank you!
Bonus tip- if ur editor, don't make a girlfriend
😂
I appreciate this
Okay, I’ll get a boyfriend instead 😂
@user-gk9ut9qc1o Jesus loves you man don't think that
@@user-gk9ut9qc1ono.
I can literally just keep watching your videos. You are just too good.
Genuinely a great video, I’m actually going to make a list based on this. I’ve had an ergonomic mouse for the longest time and never thought to use the hot key function/ button mapping. Loads of other cool tips too. Thank you for making an innovative video that doesn’t just reiterate what a lot of other videos say
I just discovered your channel today and I'm already OBSESSED with it. Thank you soooo much for these helpful videos 🙏🌟
Thanks for sharing! I haven't considered how important focus time is. Shutting down distractions and getting deep into it is important, but I have been completely neglecting it.
I've just realized why I enjoy your content so much! Not only do you give me plenty of 'aha' moments and make me laugh out loud...But it's the accent!! I've become a total TV snob and only watch British TV on Netflix and Prime. You fit right into my 'snobbery'! Jolly good, old man!
ahah I have a pretty "posh" English accent, if you watch "Made in Chelsea" they're like next level "posh" im the next rung down
I almost cried at how amazing these tips were thank you mate!
i love these videos man, i’m in the office making myself more streamlined. love it.
I'm a year into being serious on my channel. I'm really noticing I'm being more productive and figuring out a flow and a lot of your tips helped me.
Your Thumbnail was absolutely wonderful. I never thought about getting g a different mouse, that was a wonderful tip.
I'm currently learning on the job, so to speak, with my filming abd editing processes. Slowly googling things I learn along the way. But your videos are great for showing me things that will help streamline the process even further. Don't get me wrong, I'm still bad at editing, but I'm slowly getting more efficient at being bad!
I totally agree with the mouse with extra buttons thing. I personally use a Razer Naga Classic with 21 different buttons/inputs. I set up a button profile for editing and made each of the buttons do super useful things in the editing process. Editing still takes forever though XD
THANK YOU!! THIS WAS SO HELPFUL
Currently, I'm in the process of editing my first actually scripted video. It's good to see that I'm already on the right track with some of these!

I actually think watching your video during editing is a good thing. If you don't watch your video at least a tiny bit during editing, the final product won't really feel like something you actually want the world to see, it won't look as good to you.
yes of course you need to watch it, you just dont need to keep re watching over and over again
It took me awhile to naturally realize this because I used to do complete editing and it took SO LONG. Now I add all my A-Roll, Color Grade, Make Cute of Unneccessary Footage and Mistakes, Add in Self-Filmed/Photographed Assets/CC/etc, Add in Found/Created Assets (as this is a really distracting process since it involved browsing), Add Sound Effects, Add Music, then I publish privately and work on all of my About This Video, Tags, etc, then publish. That's what works best for me.
I'm not as fancy as everything in this video because I do everything on my phone. Butttt I'm going to try out the zero distractions hour and layering in work in stages for multiple videos!! I loved that part!! I am guilty of rewatching at times which makes the process longer. Great Info!! 🥳
1000% love this! I use all or these in audio editing as well. I will try my version of your last tip the next time I have a batch of video to edit!
I have seen all the videos of your channel, in every video you improve yourself and your editing skills.
Glad you like them!
For those who fully script their videos can also do a lot of heavy lifting early on by making a "paper edit" where you include what edits/shots/graphics/sfx you'll include in the video so you can shoot with the edits in mind
This makes complete sense. These are all actually actionable. Thank you! Can't wait to try.
Your tips are very helpful! Glad I got to find your channel. Putting my phone on silence is amazing and helps me to focus even more!
I find that going through the edits wearing different hats. like first is the storytelling hat, then the effects hat, color hat and so on helps me alot
I have ADD and this video is so valuable for me. Learning how to save time is amazing since I can get burnt out easier. I want to implement these in my next editing session to see how much it helps. I can already feel that it will help
These were all great! Digital assets and creating a style people recognize is something I've been thinking about! I notice RUclipsrs I watch all feel familiar and it definitely takes a long time finding new things every time! Thank you for making the videos you make!!
Oh yea finding a style and sticking with it will help a tonne for speed and for your viewers to recognise you
Great video again Ed! So helpful as always. ❤️
I recently found out that I can save my own effect presets... biggest time saver ever
Really compact and straightforward video, thank you for that!
I can’t stop fully making chunks of my video at a time. It’s hard to not make it like complete because even though I am creative I have trouble visualizing if what I envision will work or not. But making vlog content makes all of this kinda harder. Regardless Your channel is helping me a lot thanks
Just found your channel, I like it more than some of the channels that are bigger than you. Thank you for your work
This is great advice! I find myself wasting so much time because of the rewatching the previous edited portions to "see if it goes together".
This is the content I need after binging so many of your videos and realising I have a lot of work to do 🤣🤣 turns out my editing wasn't as good as I had thought hahaha
the last tip is such an eye opener
Absolutely brilliant tips!! Especially the mouse because I legit had no idea about it!
Definitely guilty of watching my video over and over and over! 🤪
👍👍
Lots of great tips! Bought as soon as you talked about the features. Used to have an older mouse that had programable buttons, but the software dropped with a recent release. Glad this one is available now!
Amazing video bro!!! Love this
Thank you, your tips were really helpful!!
Well done, thanks!
Finally an awesome video that just doesn't talk about keyboard shortcuts. Last week I binge watched all your videos! Awesome content!
Oh... if I am pulling out my keyboard to edit, something is wrong. With an 8 button trackball, I can edit all day and rarely use the keyboard. 😎
your help is appreciated!! thank you
Great stuff Ed.
the stop watching your own videos back tip hit home, i must waste hours on that with each video for no real reason 😭
Thank you 🙏 This video was a game changer to me .. I took all of your tips .. Where it took me a day to finish one project, I now do 3 a day .. keep up the great content 👍
Thank you for sharing so many of your hard-earned skills! Your channel is fantastic.
This is such great advice. The most important bit as you said is to lay out your narrative. I used to edit as I went along and it took forever. The mouse too looks like a game changer. Add breathing to blinking also. I literally forget both *falls off chair and wondering why my eyes are dry and dizzy* 😂
😂 I should have added tie yourself to a chair too, i sometimes end up with my face about 3 inches away from the screen
@@FilmBooth 😂😂😂😂
Great pieces of advice, thank you.
Editing in levels!! Now I feel like I have a plan, thank you!
Love #6 - especially batch editing. Great vid
I realllllllllyyyyy neeeded this thank you so much
Great video. I use the Utech mouse from Amazon that has 16 buttons. 12 on the thumb alone. Now my right hand only leaves the mouse when I have to type. Total game changer when you have a multipurpose mouse.
I feel like I've only just started being a year in now and that last point is a hugely helpful piece of advice. Granted they all are, but the end bit of not trying to edit from start to finish. I've went back on and completely moved on from certain video ideas purely because I couldn't move past the intro sequence that I really enjoyed. I didn't know how to follow it up and progress the narrative I wanted to convey. If I had layed out a frame work then after adding all the bells and whistles i think things would have run much smoother. Thats why i've seemingly stuck to shorts for the longest time because they're just that. Short. Thanks for the advice and for the wonderful video!
Your videos are so helpful. You give great tips, and just seeing how you do cuts in your videos is really helpful.
Great Tips! I will try implement them in my channel, starting by applying the Batching and Not Rewatching every time to produce more videos.
Editing video surely is fun 😮💨
This really helped. Thanks
Totally agree that Rewatching my whole edit is one my most time wasting things 😂 but seriously tho thanks for all the epic tips!
Its so hard not to do though! I still have to stop myself doing it!
Hey snappy you here!

Great video, just opened my mind to new possibilities. I needed this thank you!
Great advice as usual, this channel has helped me tons 🤘
Brilliant. Thanks so much.
These are great tips! Applied most of them, but definitely could improve on not constantly rewatching haha. But when I do need to watch through the video for a bird's eye view of the narrative, I do this thing of watching the video in double the speed! On Final Cut, you can play the video then press "L", and press 2-3 times to make it even faster.
My favorite shortcut controller is the Tour Box it literally took my hand off of the keyboard completely while editing.
Great tips man! Thank you👍
I can definitely connect to a lot of your advice, especially creating a process
Loved this!
Being a 'Productivity RUclipsr' myself, I agree with all points mentioned from both a 'productivity' lens, AND 'youtuber' lens.
Just that I don't quite promote the use of multiple screens at the desk set-up. Somehow the minimalist in me has figured out a way to focus on just my 13' MacBook Air screen and finish off all tasks with breaks. Switching between screens/folders has its cost IMO.
Love from India. 👍🏻
So helpful. Thank you.
Such a great video thank you
dope tips man ! thank you

I struggle not to watch my videos repeatedly while i'm editing until im satisfied (?)... thanks for the tip that one is pretty solid and im trying to apply it now
this is genius, especially the automatic cut software. Thanks so much!
Solid video as usual! Im going to start using the mouse shortcuts for my next video!
Great tips, as usual!
I was your 1000th like. That's exciting... He nice video!
Gret tips. I have struggled with the removal of all the pauses. I even had a programmer back in 2011 make a program to automatically remove them, unsuccessfully. Those are the bane of my existence. Lately, I just make all of the b-roll and just narrate over that b-roll and this seems to be more engaging for my style of video (tutorials of compley electronics and machinery).
Thank you for these tips, definitely implementing them
Thank you!
Great video thank you for sharing, helped me out a lot.
This video is fantastic!
Helpful, thanks! 🙏
I can't believe I did this but I keep wasting my time rewatching the bits I edited to make sure I don't have to edit it later but all that does is delay the whole process - Thanks for the reminder! 💥
