As someone who didn’t know about you, or watch any of your videos until about three days ago.
Let me just say that I’ve really enjoyed your seven day challenge, even as someone who has yet to do one RUclips video! I like how real you are, and you can tell that you have been a professional presenter prior. I felt like there were so many nuggets that I need to watch each video over again. Really enjoyed this one. I liked how real you were with changing locations and even showing us your bag with all your mics, etc. Loved the part with you actually editing as well.

As a YT beginner, this was SO HELPFUL. I think once you get rolling as a creator, you forget little things and it becomes second nature. You answered so many things here that I wondered about. Your screen recording of how to edit in iMovie using control B - yeah, I didn't know that. Also, using canva (which I use exclusively) and saving as MP4 - didn't know that either. So refreshing to have this advice. THANK YOU for bucking the final cut pro bros and being relatable to us folks that like simple.

I have loved this! I found you tonight and binged all of your challenge videos. I was struggling thinking of what to post daily, as my niche is scrapbooking and my videos are usually a process of putting a scrapbook page together. But in one of your videos you talked about pain points…what is your audience’s pain point. It is that they don’t have time for it. So now I want to draw out a whole scrapbook process for several days to show that my week is busy but I’m going to take a small chunk of time each day to scrapbook and show what I get done for that day. You have also inspired me to change locations. I never do that because mostly I’m showing my work surface. But I’ve been doing this “for real” for 5+ yrs and am ready for the challenge to take things up a notch. Thanks for these! I just found you but already like and trust you thanks to your challenge videos. 😊

You are a machine! Your "think like a viewer" is a good tip. That's a reason why, when I think I've finished, I will wait a few hours and watch it again. I did that on my last video and found that, while I thought the info was important at the time it didn't really add anything and slowed the video down. Like you, I like to keep the video moving by varying my locations. Nobody wants to see me sit in a chair a speak to them for 5 or 10 minutes. Some people are great and engaging at that, but I'm certainly not.

I just found you this morning, ive watched a couple videos. Im starting a channel, soon, and as a 49..nearly 50 yr old non tech, i like seeing the done better than petfect as it helps those starting out to not get caught in the perfection wheel that i see causes burnout for most. For me, that would takeaway from my whole purpose of doing yt. So, if you can keep doing easy quick, ways to do ALL the things those of us starting will need to do. Show the quick stuff in canva that can help, more quick edit stuff...maybe do like a quick on edit in imovie 101 for beginners who need to just get videos out without all the extras. Do really anything that a new yt and ig ( really any platform) needs to know how to do, but do it really basic and easy no frills. I think thats missing so far. Thx so much. And yes, keep going. Be authentic and frankly do whatever you find fun to teach that is needed....which is everything.😂

Just discovered your channel and loved this challenge! I’d value a video on what your content planning process looks like. Consistency is the key to so much it seems and having a solid process that supports that has so far eluded me! I feel like I’m winging it every week, picking a topic last minute then jumping right into making the video despite a variety of half researched topic ideas and titles (not yet keyword optimised) etc and a half baked content calendar sitting in a productivity app that in itself feels overly complicated. That said there’s an argument for avoiding over planning. No point having colour coordinated, all singing all dancing content plans and no time left to make the videos!!I’d love to know your end to end process. Where/how do you keep a list of topic ideas? How far in advance do you plan? Do you have your finished title before recording? When do you create your thumbnail? Are you ever working on more than one video at a time? How/when do you decide on what tags to use? I’d love a simple planning process I can replicate. Basically everything other than the filming and editing part. Thanks again for your videos. Super valuable! 👏👏

Loving your 7 day challenge! I like how you mentioned recording in shorter clips to make uploading faster in one of your previous videos. Possibly some more simple logistical recording and saving tricks/tips to make it easier to actually get videos posted such as
    - How to deal with super thick card holders on the backs of phones and the spring-loaded phone holders on the tripods, selfie sticks, etc. are too shallow to hold the phones and they pop off. It is something small but can prevent someone from recording. If the phone doesn't pop out, the holders also hit the side buttons and turn the phone off.
    - How to get in the habit of recording in horizontal format with a phone. 99% of all my recordings are vertical and unusable (except in shorts).
    - Media storage ideas when recording long format, ie letting the phone record in 20 minute blocks (the max length it will record) while working on a project and having your hands dirty. (So that was a random example) 😁
    - How to record what you are doing when you are doing it and don't have extra hands/time to hold a phone, set things up, and move things.
I am so happy you made this series! ❤

Your first phrase spoke My Truth! It was just taking too long to edit my videos. I practically wanted to quit. I'm not, thanks to this RUclips Challenge. I found out about this challenge at your Day 5 video. I'm restarting it now.
OMG, I had to wear a thumb brace because I was editing 8-10 hours a day for 35 straight days last month! (I did my own 31 day challenge to kickstart my channel.)
I love this: "Throwing out perfectionisms! ...Throwing out over thinking (throwing out procrastination--I added this one)! "And, Getting it DONE!" Yayyy!🙌
You ask what I might want to see. Here's some ideas:
-import different clips into the editing software
    -insert B-Rolls
-insert audio before you show the video (exp. you car door shut before showing the car)
-put this challenge in a playlist (I see that you already did this, yay!)
-sample sheet of how you outline including your planned change of location
Side Question: What's your doggie's name? Too Cute😍!

I am also coming in from film/TV and finding my “true voice” (not host/presenter) has been a challenge! I love all your tips to come across more natural among the many you’ve shared over 7 days already 🙏🏼🥰!

I found you just a few days ago. I'm over 50 now and started my YT channel and Podcast and am in burnout stage. This challenge of yours is very inspiring and I have taken lots of notes. Your tips are very helpful. Thank you!

Another idea I just thought of which would be helpful, for me at least, is to do a video on how to write a title and description and what #s and @s to use and also how to put links in to the description but, even more importantly, how to put links to the next video that you can click on at the end of your video. If that makes any sense. That would be really useful. Use to kiss principal though and write it for people who are novices like me. thanks Virginia. If you don’t do it, I’ll figure it out and make one myself.

I have to be honest I don't normally subscribe to channels, at least not right away and just a few of your videos in this week I subscribed. I need to get faster with it all so I can do all the things, so I appreciate your guidance here. Plus, I rarely see videos like this talking to us over 40 and that is why I have been trying to edit and do videos like these 20-year-olds out here and that's just not going to cut it for me or my audience. I love your videos, but do have some thought of things I would like to see:
    1. Video creation ideas for your niche. (Could you wrap in several different niches? Mine is travel and I rarely see anyone ever giving travel niche ideas. Sometimes I struggle with video ideas when I am not traveling).
    2. Digital Products. (I have in mind what I want to sell but would love ideas of products and the best way to do so as I am now getting started with this aspect. Let's face it you can't make a living on just AdSense.)
    3. IG Reel and Post Ideas (I wanted to monetize on RUclips before branching to other platforms. Are your old IG videos still applicable?)

Oh I forgot one that I struggle with so number 4.
      4. Keywords and SEO (Oh my goodness I can spend a couple hours alone on this trying to make sure I have the right ones, and I have VidiQ. There's got to be a better way. )

Congratulations on 7 days!! I've really enjoyed this series. And just the reminder that these little tweaks to improve efficiency means more time for everything in life is really valuable. We're all definitely too busy to make videos, but that probably means we have useful things to share. Our voices are valuable and needed. Thanks Virginia!

You ARE on a roll!! I love it. I’ve challenged myself to get my channel monetized in 90 days. Your content is helping me so much!! I’d love some trainings on more of the editing methods, but I’m loving all of it.

I'm with you I use Canva to do my graphics and text too, so much easier and faster. Thanks for all the tips. How do you record, do you record in bits or sections. You may have covered this already but this is the first video I have watched.

Hi! I just found you. I'm not quite ready to join a challenge, but hopefully next one. I'm going to look around your channel now, but I know I was lost when you talked about uploading an mp4 file. Oh lord, how do I learn about how to do this kind of stuff? I was in high school in the 80s and regretfully closed my mind to technology. It certainly doesn't come easy for me, but I do see some improvement, so I'm not hopeless. My goal is to be able to edit my videos in the next 6 weeks. I will be off camera until then. I'm glad you showed up!

Keep going please. I have a new channel and have posted two videos. I have learned everything from scratch including my camera. I'm editing my third video currently and post on Sundays. I work full time and need to be more efficient. Thanks

Monetizing the content on here must also be better then on IG and TT where, for us Canadians, is impossible to do so. Great CANVA hack, love it! That’s how we recognize your colors/signature so fast also! Well done coach!

Keep going pls! I just found you from these videos and have been anxiously awaiting each one dropping. LOVE! I already see some great questions in the comments and would also like to know the difference between the screen recording we can do on our MacBooks vs. Screencast? And I’d love to know more about how you do description, #’s, thumbnails, etc. You may already have other videos I should watch from before this challenge, but I also wonder if you have a streamlined process for this? Thanks so much for this wonderful challenge!!

I would like to see quick and easy make up for over 40 to hide the lines a little, I do blur my skin on cap cut but it looks fake , you look great on your videos and what I like is exactly that's not over produced 😉

    My question is…..
What are the best hashtags to use for you tube videos or what are the best key words….
I’m not even sure what the correct lingo is….
However, I guess my question is….
What should u type below my video to get the most views?? 🤷‍♀️

I’m participating! I started the same day you did and found your video after I posted. Here are ideas that would be helpful… 1) how to shoot full body videos (workouts) on iPhone 2) more detailed series on ‘how to edit’ 3) how to have confidence on camera. Examples of what doesn’t work and what does work 4) how to come up with video ideas? 5) scripting series how to
