- Are you tired of your milwaukee batteries falling out of your milwaukee m12 tools? So am I. Over a short period of time my milwaukee High output 6.0 and 3.0 batteries started falling out of my Milwaukee tools regularly, with it being the worst on my milwaukee 2457 ratchet and my milwaukee 2554 stubby impact. I mean just one after another every battery cracked and left me with unusable milwaukee tools. Well, today we're gonna do a milwaukee tools battery warranty claim and go over what it actually takes to warranty milwaukee tools and milwaukee batteries.

Milwaukee Tools WARRANTY, How to warranty Milwaukee tools. - Авто/Мото
Thank you. I had a new 6ah that The charger said was full but when you push the indicator light it flashed just for a few seconds. No tool would run on it other than an LED light. Thank you for such a helpful video. You rock
When I warrantied their impact, i called milwaukee, they gave me authorized shops around me and all i had to do was drop off the tool. I'd definitely try to go that route first if possible
For Automotive use on the M12 batteries, I filled the gap with Permatex the Right Stuff Black Gasket Maker. It stays on way better and doesn't dislodge itself when the Impact Guns are Impacting on a Bolt/Nut. I figured if the M12 batteries last at least a year, the tool pay for itself. I have about a dozen m12 batteries, they get the job done!! 1/4'', 3/8'', to 1/2'' impact guns to 1/4'', 3/8'' and 1/2'' impact ratchets! Love them daily, used daily!!
Thought I couldn’t do a warranty claim cause I didn’t have my receipt. Great vid! Hopefully get my 6.0 fixed.
This is great information. I started a file on my phone for everything I purchased Milwaukee since the first bundle of tools I purchased a few years back. I take a picture of my receipt and the packages so I know where to go for proof of purchase. Some of the older Gen 1 tools have been on the shelves longer than their stamped warranty codes, greatly reducing the amount of warrantied time the batteries have without the receipt . My first set of batteries were already 2 years old according to the date code. I do appreciate the fact that Milwaukee does at least track the date codes so people without a receipt aren’t automatically disqualified from a warranty attempt. I’ve been impressed by Milwaukee from day 1 and this video is further proof that I made the correct decision to go entirely Milwaukee years ago.
Yes, half of the batteries that came with my tools were well into their warranty period judging by the battery stamp. Actually would have been able to warranty a few more had I not waited a month until I started the warranty process.
Very informative & helpful. You are the first person I believe actually had a problem with Milwaukee tools. I own 23 m12 batteries have only had 1 go bad after dropped the tool twice from 6' on a concrete floor. Had 2 m18 batteries went bad out of the 24 that I have. Feel blessed own near $100,000 of Milwaukee tools I use them a lot with zero problems. I do have a back pak M18 sprayer that has not worked correctly since I got it.I'm waiting for a answer on.
Thanks for the info! Sending my dead batteries off tomorrow to get replaced. 2 died within a week of each other.
Great info. I just submitted a warranty claim on a XC 6.0. It's just a year old and womt take a charge. My other M12 batteries(6ah, 4ah, and 3ah) are older and haven't had any issues yet.
Where did you find the serial number for your battery, about to do my warranty on mine
Wish people would do videos like this for more companies! It’s always nice knowing what you can expect from a company if you have to make use of the warranty before investing in a given brand.
Glad I could help, I questioned how it would work myself so I figured I'd make a video out of it
In my case they did not stand behind their product. The battery had minimal use. The wanted $140 for the repair. The batterys exterior was in almost new condition and I had proof of purchase from home Depot.
Thank you,Thank You, Thank you. I did not know this. Great video. 🙏🏼
Thank you for this video. But I have to ask...did they fix the battery popping out? Seems like it does not matter if you get a new one or not, the problem still exist.
How long of a warranty does the Rapid Charger Station have? Anyone know?
Good lookin out! Very informative. Only thing you didn't mention is how long the process took. I Been avoiding doing this myself but now I'm gonna just get it done. Look out Milwaukee! I got some real turds coming your way
2 business weeks
Wow fantastic videos had no idea they would replace batteries. Great info!!
Great looking logo Garnett
Good to know i have to check what i have
I wonder if it will be the same in Canada
Thanks, i'm slowly but surely designing some new channel art and t-shirt logos
I keep my receipts for power tools in a folder just in case. I wish they but the date on them like Dewalt does.
Yo! This is good info for me. I’ve gotta few batteries I should check out
I just found an open box deal on the M12 combo drill+driver+2batteries for $60, but one of the batteries won't charge so this video was really helpful 👍👍
Did they ask for proof of purchase? Cus there’s a lot of deals on Facebook marketplace
@@Mr.305_ actually the batteries worked, I just wasn't plugging them in all the way
@@MatthewHartsuch it happens 😂
So this is where the new battery handle design lock is about so did they fix the issue though or is this something im going to inquire eventually sir??!
Thank you for the information.
Had same problem, M12 Battery not charging and not working in any tools. Bridged the negative poles and positive poles between the faulty battery and a verified and charged good battery with paper clips and left for 3mins. Put on charger and went to full charge almost immediately and now working with tools fine.... for now....
I use my m12 and m18 daily and i dont think ive ever had a battery come loose on me...if it has happened its only been once or twice
Same here..never happened to me
Milwaukee didn't honor warranty in my case. The pack barely had a scratch on it. Had fallen apart while using an m18 impact. They denied warranty and tried to charge $140 for the repair
They didn't repair your batteries, they sent you new ones. The date stamped is when the cells are put into the casing and only done at the time of manufacture.
That spray 9 is pretty potent stuff. Faded the paint on our bluepoint shop cart
I know, sprayed it on my craftsman box once and it immediately took some paint off.
Just about any degreasser will remove paint from tool boxes lol careful with that stuff
What Degreaser do you recommend to use on the toilet so it doesn't mess up the casing
Brother, if you gotta degrease your toilet this video aint gonna help you. Ill keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
What happened to the out of warranty batteries??
I purchased heated jacket for wifey. The battery was dated 12/10/2019. Would lose 14 month off warranty if dont keep receipt
So keep your records so can get warranties from data of purchase.
This is a ingenious idea meaning the heated jacket and i say that from the farm kid standpoint and for cutting and splitting firewood that would be a good idea to keep warm.
Thanks awesome video
I had the same thing happen to me.the battery tabs keep breaking off.
Thanks! Very helpful!
You helped me save almost $500 thanks
Great info thanks !!!
Not a problem, I'm here to help!
Nice walk-thru of the warranty process, hopefully I'll never have to use it.
Gonna make darn sure not to get any solvents on my batteries!
Yeah stay away from the heavy degreasers and solvents to keep your m12 batteries good.
They didn't honor the warranty in my case. I had proof of purchase from home Depot. Battery pack barely had a scratch they tried to get $140 for the fix. It took weeks to get it back from them. They sent it back in worse condition
I have two m12 2.0 they have no date of manufacture code on them
Good information buddy
Good info
Thank
How long did the process take? From when you shipped out the batteries to the moment you received them back, how long did that take?
It has taken me up to 3 weeks before. Last one was for an led that stopped working, and they sent me a new one within 2 weeks. I would say it really depends on how busy they are and shipping times.
I love M12 tools and I am pretty invested in it but I would be ok with them relaunching the M12 line with a slide battery
Good Job!
Will they send you the replacement first or you have to send the defective ?
Lol you gotta send the defective one back first...im sure people have run away with the new ones not sending the "defective" ones or if they were even defective in the first place.
hi there interesting . i was not so lucky even with the recipe . they wouldn't wouldn't cover mine . thanks john
The funny part is he got the batteries even though he technically voided the warranty by using a cleaner. Just a damp cloth to wipe off excess dirt
Your battery pops out because the small tab on the side is broken off. I been using spraynine for 15 plus years on my tools. Never had problem. If the battery hits the floor that’s a problem. Lol
If you're gonna buy the 6.0 m12 batteries the 2 pack is the best option. 2 for 160 is the best deal
I tried doing this, and website you shared is non working
How long did it take to get you batteries back?
Took about a month altogether, although I did send them right when this corona stuff kicked off.
fed ex will not except any battery's if you drop off. I've tried, u have to schedule for a pick up, it's a new rule now.. pethatic
Momma has this atomic series 20v brushless xrp1/2 inch DeWalt cordless drill and its a badass drill im impressed. And her impact is the 20v max not the atomic line series but just as impressive as well as her circular saw i think it was a 8 inch awesome i want to get both of these and neither one are a Milwaukee tool lol
Hello Garnett hope all is well with you
Sup Danoh, everything is stellar, hope the same is true for you!
Thank You👍🏻✊🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
you bet, not a problem!
I believe that if milwaukee knew that you were spraying chemicals on your tools and batteries that your warranty would be void imo.
Well, if they cared enough to ask, they would have known. They didn't so...
Good video but why would you put it out there that you wipe down your stuff with a degreaser? Did they warrant your batteries?
Don’t clean them, the chemicals soak into the plastics and it dries it out or turns it brittle.
Yeah I would just start using soap and water on a rag degrees there's a little corrosive for some plastic
Now they require proof of purchase
I got 5 batteries, I already did that but the cost is 93 for 1 battery
The batteries fall apart without the degreaser. The design of the m12 batteries just straight sucks. Have had multiple batteries do the same exact thing
That battery is why I switched to Makita
That's Monroeville Home Depot....
It sure is! Where ya from?
Thought it looked familiar! I’m in Murrysville. Thanks for the video - how long did it take total for the turnaround?
Never had this problem and i own 4 battery
I have a lot of m12 milwaukee tools...n never happens that to me.....big lie
How long was the turn around time?
turn around time was a solid 3 weeks but i have no clue if it had anything to do with the rona lock downs.
What about the "Tub-O-Towels" wipes? I use those to clean both my hands AND my tools. If it's safe enough for human skin, I would assume that it's safe for the plastic on your tools. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Glad to see another tool cleaning person. I feel like were few and far in between.
Or find your local Milwaukee tool store n take it in there n get it exchange
Milwaukee Operator's Manual->Cleaning:
"Clean dust and debris from vents. Keep handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap [Dawn] and a damp cloth to clean, since certain cleaning agents [F and solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Some of these include gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents containing ammonia. Never use flammable or combustible solvents around tools."
You arent supposed to use degreaser on plastic
We do not all agree on Milwaukee having the best tools! They are falling behind badly and I'm talking really behind...
Dear Martin Lawrence: If you want a battery that stays in the tool, use the Bosch 12 drill system. The only bad thing is being able to remove the battery, when you want to charge it.
Uncle Tony says you know your N.O.S. Iron for a “young buck” & He strongly suspected That Milwaukee recognizes who you are & in fact there were no shenanigans with the batteries;; they know you have the power of RUclips,, we didn’t have a favorable outcome on our Hi-torque 1/2” unit. Uncle Tony went & bought 2 HF. Earthquake 1/2”. For same as 1 Milwaukee. & truthfully a hands down no shenanigans warranty ThankYou EricSchimdt & ThankYou Garnett Tools. For keeping it real ,
degreaser bad to use on these materials look in the book, says to use soapy water
3 weeks without your batteries, 3 of 4 repackaged? 1 year old batteries returned with new case. I wouldn’t say the company stands behind their batteries. Long process for some batteries. I’d just toss them and buy new ones (2020)plenty of deals on the web for a 6ah and 3ah combo...
My time is much more valuable then going through that Milwaukee process...online, drive to ups, cash out...your a patient dude. ..
To be honest, I'm surprised they warrantied any of them given the condition I sent them in. It had to be quite clear that something I was doing caused the housing to deteriorate like that. So $20 to get back 4 basically new batteries, and 1 brand new? All in all, I'd call it a win.
Why throw em away if theyll fix them for ya? 5 batteries cost a lot of money.
You're way better off using brake clean to clean your tools, it won't damage your batteries.
the whole "clip that is an extended plastic tab which is part of the case" idea is faulty from the beginning. its the worst part of the design, not fit for purpose, better suited to a cheap chinese toy car battery compartment
First step of warranting a Milwaukee...throw it in the trash. My personal experience has been the complete opposite of yours.
Well I actually traded in all my Milwaukee's for this exact reason
@@GarnettTools I did the same. I had a ton of money invested in the m18/m12 fuel line up. They wouldn't warranty out one of my impacts that was 10 months old and bought from home depot.
The 3 other impacts they did but it literally took 3 1/2 months of arguing back and fourth with them before I got them back and one of them wasn't even the right tool.
So I then had to re warranty the incorrect one that they gave me and wait yet another month and a half for a screw up on their end. What a joke that was and I told myself I'll never go thru that again and have bought everything from snap on since.
Their new brushless stuff stomps the crap out of Milwaukee anyways and Is worth the investment.
this guy is a beautiful black republican. I know him
Good stuff. Trump 2020

To each their own
Milwaukee sucks these days. I’ll pass.
Milwaukee are overrated crap, 2 circular saws now junked after a year of use on each. the extended warranty registration is impossibly confusing.. trying to contact them usually means they won't reply within the 30 day period which means I miss out. When the rest of the kit packs up, they're outta here. Shame they look the part and preform great when working, but at the price they ask.... I expect more.
Good information. So different from dewalt. Dewalt I just send them a message on Facebook messenger, send them a picture of the serial number and less then two weeks later I have a brand new battery
