  • 2017 Volkswagen Touareg overview test drive and car review
    The 2017 Volkswagen Touareg, I can't (or won't pronounce it correctly) but I will drive it and give you my opinion. At $65,000 I expect a luxurious vehicle that performs well and this VW doesn't disappoint. It's biggest party trick is probably the 7,700lb towing capacity, closely followed by it's incredible driving range as it has a massive fuel tank. 900km? No problem if it's all highway, with a combination of highway and city I put 700km on the vehicle before filling but could have easily went to 800km and averaged 11.3L/100km doing it.
    Not bad VW, not bad.

    I still love the look of the '17 VW touareg ... not into the look of the '20-present Atlas CS but if I can't find a '17 touareg Exec w/ low kms, I may just have to get the Atlas

    I own a 2017 Volkswagen Touareg, it's an awesome vehicle!
    Unfortunately you can't get them after 2017 in the United States anymore.

    The Touareg/porsche cayenne drive like a performance sedan, unlike BMW X5 or MB GLE 350 which drive like a truck.

    nowadays, dealers are giving huge discount on those, you can easily get a wolfsburg edition for 46k and the executive for 53k

    Reviewing a car but you don't know its towing capacity?

    This car makes no sense coming from VAG while Audi already produces several SUVs. I do like the older Touaregs though.

    $65k is a bit steep!

    • @largol33t1
      @largol33t1 7 лет назад

      You think this is steep? At least the Touareg is loaded up with tons of stuff not standard on other VW models. Look at the VW Golf GTI. It can cost $30,000 US and has NO seat memory, NO auto A/C, NO center storage on top of the dash. And just to top it off, the "updated" touch screen still looks old and outdated compared to other VW vehicles like this. As for the damn auto A/C, their "options" listing is ridiculous. If you want a sunroof with a 6-speed manual, they won't give you auto A/C! Then if you want the checkered seats, you have to give up something else! I think for $30-32,000, they should make it available ANY way the customer wants. MINI doesn't restrict how options are put together and the Cooper S costs a little less than the GTI.
      On the GTI ONLY the seat back is power adjustable, not the bottom. And it only slides back and forth, you can't tilt it! For $31,000?! That's a little too steep. And owners told me on the uber-pricey Golf R, they LOCK the center console shut. Some have found a way to break the two bolts so they could open it and it's not filled in with anything! They don't even give the owners wheel options while MINI allows 5 or 6 different kinds of wheels without a price increase. The reason I didn't buy a MINI was I find the 4-door Clubman ugly and I don't like the styling of the Countryman. Also, they lost a lawsuit where customers complained that the 4-cylinder engines had a serious defect that caused them to develop timing chain problems. The average engine repair cost was $3,000! Yikes.

    • @walt1824
      @walt1824 7 лет назад

      And both the GTI and GLI have this hideous phony engine sound "piped" in. Why" Who knows. I understand that you can eliminate it but why have it in the first place?

      Soft touch material, and panoramic roof.

    With out a doubt this is the worst vehicle review i have ever tried to complete, the presenters knowledge of the vehicle is tested and in my opinion does not get a passing grade.

      not if you have a family, plus people who buy Touareg are classy people that do not want to show off, they want a comfortable Luxury Vehicle.

      Intrepid Milotic agree, also the Touareg has way more off-road and towing capability than the those mentioned brand. Its a legend
