The rhythmic nature of the Hindi language is so fitting to the stylization of metal honestly, and the traditional instruments and vocals blend seamlessly with the metal and electronic aspects. I'm transfixed with Bloodywood, absolutely starstruck. They deliver a powerful collection of messages about humanity and compassion and community, protecting one another. It's beautiful, I love to see it.
They're getting ready for their "Nine Inch Naans" tour right now, actually! (Their previous tour has a documentary here on the youtubes called "Raj Against The Machine" - they know _exactly_ what they're doing, and it's glorious! 😁)
@@LuzPanorama16 dude it's the BEST THING. Any group that can make puns and/or jokes at themselves, ABOUT themselves, is a group I can get behind even if the music sucks, but theirs is ALSO REALLY REALLY GOOD
Got to aee them at the Raj against the machine tour in London AND got to hang out with them after the gig! They are amazing and look out for hs at gigs/festivals. Most genuinely lovely and talented guys!
Dont forget,KALI is Dancing for you (Blue Female Indian Goddess) !.......Kali is the Hindu goddess of death, time, and doomsday. She is often associated with sexuality and violence but is also considered a strong mother figure and symbol of motherly love. Kali embodies shakti - feminine energy, creativity and fertility - and is an incarnation of Parvati, wife of the great Hindu god Shiva.
She's also very much the spirit of righteous vengeance and destruction. She's often depicted dancing on the remains of demons she's killed, with their skulls as a necklace, a manic wide-eyed expression, with their blood on her tongue, and knives and severed heads in her hands. Definitely NOT the Goddess you want to piss off.
Dude. Your face for the first minute...just utter AWE. I truly enjoy watching men react to this song!!! I revel in this song as a survivor, I am heartened that it exists, that it's by INDIAN MEN...and I LOVE how much you agree!😍😍😍😎😎😎
Saw them last year, in a very small venue (450 same place I saw Dir en Grey) The intense energy was so insane. I'm not joking when I say that the walls, floors and ceiling were flexing with the sound waves. Probably one of the best shows I've been to in the last 5 or so years. Hands down.
That girl in blue? That's Kali, the Hindu goddess of war, protection and women. She's a badass, ripped "demons" apart and drank their blood before dancing so hard in victory she almost destroyed the world until Shiva jumped under her so she stepped on him and stopped. Love that song, so powerful and intense! My first experience with them was Jee Veerey, another awesome and intense song about depression and the bad s-word that might come from it, and how to overcome it.
When I saw this about a year ago, it blew my mind as much as you guys do now. But now I have a very big grin on my face when I see that you feel the same!!!
That's so awesome you guys did Bloodywood. Always down to see people react to them. One of my favorite bands for sure. Gonna search to see if you guys have done anymore of them, but if not, check our "Gaddaar" or "Aaj" next. They will blow you guys away. Rock on!
I bought this album and its the most borrowed amongst my friends. I haven't seen it on weeks now lol. Another folk metal band that you could consider are swiss band Eluiveitie.
Hey Hunterz. In case you were wondering, the woman in blue is representative of Kali -- the Hindu goddess of death, protection, and transformation/change. This song, the more I hear it, really makes me think that Jayant, the screamer, is representing everyone who has ever known someone who has been hurt by r*pe and SA. His screams are that of someone wanting justice for a friend or family member -- wanting to bring the righteous fury of the goddess Kali as a blessing, as he beats the ever-loving crap out of those who hurt other people that way. And the bridge, where the woman starts singing, makes me think that Kali, in a strange sense of comfort, comes down herself from the heavens to deliver the beatdown, unleashing her righteous fury against the guilty offender. Because Kali help those that perpetrate these kinds of crimes -- because they will get what is due them, sooner or later. Kali's justice does not sleep on those that hurt others that commit heinous sex crimes.
These guys started off doing parody songs here on RUclips, before buckling down and putting out some serious metal songs. Their rapper friend joined them for a lot of the songs. Then they went viral. They ended up getting an invite to Wacken before they even had a full live band. There's even a documentary on their mad dash to Wacken - and they followed that up with a short international tour and the release of their first album. It's been a crazy ride for these guys. A lot of their videos have important messages after the song, which are at least as cool as the music. The guitarist/flutist's gf is a musician herself - she plays the bagpipes, and has her own RUclips channel under the name The Snake Charmer. She also appears in a couple of Bloodywood's videos - without her bagpipes.
Not my kind of music but holy crap! They're so good, all the instrumentals, the dancing and WOW how the heck does that guy rap so fast? I do like the part with the woman singing and will check out some other songs of theirs.
How's it goin hunterz. I just went through this reaction video and I think i u like them guys from Bloodywood, try listening to Andre Antunes. He made mashup of his guitar performance with Nooran Sisters. Video is called "INDIA goes METAL - Jugni (Nooran Sisters x Andre Antunes)".
You’re in luck, they’re touring the US late summer, all I can remember off the top of my head is Aftershock and Louder Than Life, but they have small shows in between the festivals. Also, I’ll add to the suggestions for Aaj. Not as heavy as this one, but absolutely epic for different reasons, both musically and visually

I think while the band is being politically correct and staying away from the narrative of the woman in blue being a depiction of Goddess Kali, I think that's what it is. The drums were good, the dancing was interesting, although I didn’t see much in one and two second blips. I guess overall, it was awful. Granted, its certainly not my genre , but I like to hear what’s out there. ✌🏼😎
