    very great tips, I actually do ALL of them and they really do work. One of the big things I give up during the semester is all of my social media accounts (yes all of them). I deactivate them and I delete the apps because they are a HUGE distraction for me, I spend more time on there than studying so I take it away and when the semester is over I turn them back on.

      Very true! I just can't bring myself to delete my social media just yet, but definitely cutting back is a huge help

      I'll have to do this next semester. I checked my iPhone screen time hx and found myself appalled at how many hours in a week I spent on social media. Its important to move with purpose in life and I found myself mindlessly scrolling through these apps lol

    You're right. If I get into Nursing school I need to stay positive and study at least once a day. I don't have a problem with going out, watching too much tv and i've even began the planner ahead of time. But I think positivt and studying will be key for me. Thanks for the video!

    "Do as many practice questions as you can." True story, I ended up getting a B on my second Fundamentals exam because a) didn't study/just skimmed over my notes and b) did minimal practice questions.

    I'm a junior now in my nursing program, so I have one more year left for my BSN and your tips are awesome I can relate. Learning to say no its a big one, it's about knowing your priorities and nursing school should be yours if you decided to pursue this profession. oh and doing practice questions, couldn't stress that more. That is super important, will help you get use to the type of questions and also test your knowledge on certain topics so it should be part of your studying sessions.

    • @suras8984

      Its too late now probably... but try to find youtube videos that cover the topics covered in class... sometimes you will find a youtuber who will present the material in an interesting way and the videos are shorter than class so its easier to get through the video. When I am too lazy to study by reading I study by watching youtube videos instead.

    I have one question. I have applied for nursing school. I have few months of time before I start my two years RN program. Can you guide me on which study areas I have to review before I start actual nursing. Like what to review in anatomy, chemistry or math ?
    Thank you.

    • @TheNurseNook
      @TheNurseNook  7 лет назад +11

      I would say review anatomical positions such as where muscles/bones/organs are located, from chemistry review electrolytes such a sodium/potassium what they do in the body and why they are important, for math I would say review decimal conversions like milligrams to micrograms and so fourth, those help you a lot with dosage calculations!

    Awesome video! I start nursing program Feb. 6th! Super excited and nervous! Not going to be working while in the program so that's a big help! Just curious...approx how many hours a day outside of class/clinicals would you say you studied? I know everyone is different, but some have said 2-3 hrs some say 4-6+ lol...and is gym 3-4 times a week for an hr or so doable? Keep it up! Almost done and working as an RN 😄🙏👍

    • @TheNurseNook
      @TheNurseNook  7 лет назад +2

      It honestly depends on my week and if I have an exam that week, I can honestly say my life has not stopped since I started nursing school and I still do alot of things that I want to do if I arrange my time correctly. SOme days i spend zero hours studying and some days 6+ (with alot breaks in between) the work load gets heavier when I have an exam coming up but it'll go to a steady pace when I have no exams, hope that helped!

    Can anyone explain to me how usa students get into nursing school? Do you apply and get in depends on your high school grades or do you have to take pre courses and exams? I am in New Zealand.

    • @tasha4183
      @tasha4183 6 лет назад +3

      Sofiya Malkinova depends on the school.. but usually you have to do pre- reqs such as Anatomy, statistics, etc.. after you do that... then you have to take an exam called the teas exam. If you get a high score on that exam, a high score on your pre-reqs and have some sort of pre-hospital experience such as being an emt, you might get in. Good luck !
