Great new album. Also really want to commend KEXP (again) for their sound/studio engineers. That room has some serious magic sound in it. Sounding as good as always ladies and gentlemen!
I'm a huge fan of MC Taylor and Phil Cook, this whole band looks like a fun, entertaining group. Phil looks like he loves every second of every note he plays.
8:31 how many times I've listened to a live performance on KEXP and heard a song that made me feel like John Richards felt after hearing Down At The Uptown, how many times, how many...
You are right they are the best and Amazing engineers!! But I thought the Organ was a little to loud on the first song? Great Band and KEXP are the BEST!
That's why a lot of incredible talent tours solo. The money can probably get thin. It's alright but never seems to capture the magic of an ensemble performance with musicians that gel.
They have a slight Grateful Dead vibe to me for some reason. Maybe it's the harmony parts with this lady reminds me of the years Donna Jean Godchaux sang with the Dead.
The front man wears a german 'Bundeswehr' (army) shirt. Its very rare that non-germans give us that support despite of our political and human standing 👍
Rowan Elwell the black one w the white pick guard is a martin, not sure of the model Maybe the whiskey one ,I seen it comes in black, not too many black martins
No, the message I got just said 'Due to an unforeseen personal issue'. Maybe what he was talking about in the interview here, (about being away from home, etc.) coupled with lacklustre ticket sales? No idea really though.
Being a neighbour of Germany, having spent my holiday throughout germany last summer, I'm confused by the band's decor; their visual appearance. The hair styles, the nationalist shirts - it all reminds me of the unsubtle alt right post-neo-nazi references noticeable among the German population. Maybe the bandmembers have German pioneer roots, maybe in their eyes it's just esthetic textures to play with, maybe trailerhipsters mistake the European alt right appearance of nostalgia for something simply ironic, maybe it's hipsters reappropriating alt right's appropriation of hipsters' appropriations. Maybe some of the band members are alt right hipsters. Of course anyone can just wear it openly, that's a facet of the "free" west. But I just wonder about the extent to which conscious signalling is being picked up on.
It's pretty much an aesthetic in the US - no one here associates this kind of look with nationalism (US or German or otherwise) and it's not a dog whistle for anyone.
I can tell you this band doesn’t represent any of the above things you mentioned. They are super progressive, inclusive and liberal. Outspoken in their message, especially having a Southern sound, they are definitely not neo-nazis or anywhere close to being conservative.
@@tiesthijsthejs You should not freak out at army surplus stuff. In the uk all us builders wore that gear because it was far better quality than ours, German army parkas became a fashion icon. They are all wearing multiple layers because its cold in Seattle in December.

Phil Cook brings something special to every project he plays on, and man does he here.
I wish we had a radio station like this in Cleveland
We should but we stink when it comes to radio
Terms of surrender is my favorite song ❤ it’s beautiful

Deine Jacke hatte mein Vater auch. Gänsehaut. Deine Musik geht unter die Haut. Danke dafür
The harmonica solo on Down at the Uptown smokes most guitarists. Just beautiful
If Time Kaine could have played like that, then Trump never would have been president.
the fuckin phill cook. Check his solo stuff man, it's mindblowing...
@@josh0gcelebrity death match between Kaine on harp vs Clinton on sax!! 😂😂
How do I make my Harmonica sound like that? Amazing.
Yeah man!
This version of Down at the Uptown always gives me chills. So well done.

Great set 🙏🏽. I’m never not amazed at the Kexp sound engineering/mixing.

Okay guys we just got paid for the gig. Now we have to split it 16 ways.
That's why a lot of incredible talent tours solo. The money can probably get thin. It's alright but never seems to capture the magic of an ensemble performance with musicians that gel.
Amazing band Love u guys
Great band
I wish I could be in the band or at least jam with you guys.
This is great
Phil coming in with the harmonica 🤯
Great music
Amazing
Glad I clicked on it. Reminds me a lot of Wilco.
This is so great..missed you at McCabes i hope you come back there when panic-demic is over.
Thank you
The lead vocalist's sound phrasings reminds me of the male lead vocalist for Bonnie Light Horseman Eric Johnson. That's a big compliment.
those J.J.Cale vibes
What is that sorcery at 2:52-2:53 with the drumstick? Love it.
amazing!
Love it, thank you!
wow. great!
Goddamn this is so good...
greetings from germany
Nice colored glasses, nice colored socks. Nice harmonies…
nice!! like from Azerbaijan
Seems Walter Sobchak found a way to manage his anger.
They have a slight Grateful Dead vibe to me for some reason. Maybe it's the harmony parts with this lady reminds me of the years Donna Jean Godchaux sang with the Dead.
The lead guitarist's improv style sounds exactly like the Dead at points.
@@peternewman1609 It's his tone on that amp too. like no treble at all.
They would need to sing out of tune to remind me of the Dead.
Third song was an homage for sure.
Plus their from San Francisco

Anton Anger Political and human standing lovely ironic statement
@@edwardmcguigan1442 Initially not meant to be ironic. Why should it be so? Explain 😉
This version of down at the uptown sounds even better than the official
Homie looks exactly like Chad Muska
Adam Colburn Is this Muska Beats live?

Adam Colburn we got the winning comment right here 😂
got a Walter Sobchek (from Big Lebowski) vibe
Mark it zero Dude.
Nice Turf Club shirt keyboard guy
And messenger sanctuary?
This should have a jabigllion views.
I didn't know their lead singer was Rainn Wilson!
Carles Puyol on keyboards, everybody!
Who is playing lead guitar, and do you know what pickups he's got in there??
Chris Boerner
Chris Boerner sure gets around!
Please get Wovenhand on here!
They have a trailer park hipster vibe
Anyone have an ID on his glasses?
Right! I will try to identify!
Jason Votaw I would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks man!
What guitar is that? The acoustic one??
Rowan Elwell the black one w the white pick guard is a martin, not sure of the model
Maybe the whiskey one ,I seen it comes in black, not too many black martins
Who is the girl singing?
Erin Rae. She's awesome.
Erin Rae
man, he looks just like dwight schrute from the office, am i wrong?
Dude fully looks like the Muska
So bummed they cancelled their Australian dates.
Likewise NZ - especially after seeing how freakin' good they are. Do you know why?
No, the message I got just said 'Due to an unforeseen personal issue'. Maybe what he was talking about in the interview here, (about being away from home, etc.) coupled with lacklustre ticket sales? No idea really though.
So this is what english sounds like to non english speakers huh
Haha!
Yeah I love this band but I can't make out a single word he's singing here.
Wow, Gus Johnson plays bass.
These folks are REALLY stoned.
30 people need their heads checked.
Ah. The good old days when comments like this was a thing...
