Ted Poor on drums, Alan Hampton on bass, Madison Cunningham on electric guitar, Abe Rounds on percussion and Tyler Chester on keys. Thanks to everyone else that helped me fill in beyond the drummer and bass player. ;-)
I could cover the whistling perfectly as I heard it with a bit of delay on the second repeat. This is not hard or I am a genius. Are you two at all familiar with professional whistlers? i am not one but are you familiar at all ? have been exposed to much musical whistling ?
SeinfeId Andrew is incredible, but, interestingly, the world’s greatest whistler was Ronnie Ronalde. The best contemporary whistlers are Ralph Giese and Molly Lewis. I prefer Molly’s melodies, myself.
world's trashiest "musician." cant hold a rhythm, extremely pretentious, overall terrible sound. it just goes, people will listen to anything just to feel like they're a part of an "exclusive club."
@buruno Nah, there are a lot of indie artists who perform exceptional live. You aren't listening to the right stuff I guess? But agree about Andrew, he performs very well live.
Not true at all. I've been to many, many shows over the past 25 years and I can only think of a few they didn't sound great. And I'm sure Mr Bird and his band has off nights.
@buruno ~ New to KEXP, huh? I can say that regardless of whether I "like" a performer's song/style, etc., KEXP seems to show us masters of their respective instruments. If I've listened to 100 of these Live performances, I had previously only heard of one group, Thievery Corporation. Now, after learning of and enjoying many of the others, I listened to their studio recordings, and a great many of them are even better live.
Madison Cunningham, the guitarist on this session, is an amazing songwriter herself! Check out her album "Who Are You Now"-Bird's influence is often audible.
I’m DUMBSTRUCK!!!! He sure can WHISTLE UP ANYTHING!!! I can’t tell you how much STUMBLING ON THIS MUSIC HAS HELPED ME IN LIFE!!!! GREAT!!!! JUST AWESOME! Including everyone else that helped do this!!!!
I never thought I would say this but after watching 3 songs this man has the most awesome whistle it sounds like an instrument it's crazy I'm hooked now I want a song with nothing but whistling all the way through LOL 👍 so good 🔥
Just wanted to point this out for people interested in the prelude: The jam from 0:20 to 2:25 eventually leads into the beginning of Sisyphus, but it seems heavily based on the song Ellipses from his second Echolocation album (and maybe a bit of You Woke Me Up! which eventually became Capsized).
Thank you kid EXP. I just love this artist and his incredible band. He played the most amazing show that night at the Paramount and I will never forget it. The word that comes to mind when I think of Andrew Bird is versatility (ever since I saw him on TV 13 years ago).
12:58 I do looooove *Andrew Bird's Great Room Collaboration* projects. They are indeed such precious gems!! :) I believe he is a great interviewer as well. This man simply has so much talent.
I saw andrew do a solo show where he played his violin with his toes and played a guitar and whistled at the same time. he was alone with no tech except in house. this was at the legendary 1930s art deco turf club in saint paul minnesota. the headline band was the handsome family.
I hate to admit to the GAS I HAVE WASTED JUST SO I CAN HEAR IT ONE MORE TIME! I’m BLUETOOTH CRAZY!! Can switch from ear to vehicle and almost never miss a BEAT!!!!!!!
Love this man's music for over 20 years! Can't get enough Bird! Great performance, as usual. I was a little set back to see him with a guitar instead of a violin, but love the set nonetheless!
I don't remember when I was crying and shouting, even not only inside, last time watching music video. I so love his 2019 record. And such a great pleasure to see it. Amazing man, fantastic musicians, great music. If they could ever visit Russia.
Ted Poor on drums, Alan Hampton on bass, Madison Cunningham on electric guitar, Abe Rounds on percussion and Tyler Chester on keys. Thanks to everyone else that helped me fill in beyond the drummer and bass player. ;-)
Madison Cunningham is on guitar. She toured with him this last time. :-)
@@vision_immortal awesome, thanks!
Madison Cunningham is a force of nature herself, incredible voice.
Thank you
Do these friends join him during most performances? They sound great together.
Worlds greatest whistler?
definitely

@@agnidas5816 Do you ever look back on the things you write and say, and think "damn, I sound like an utter tool"?

Let's not forget about old Roger Whittaker!
My God, I can't believe how tight they are as a group.
Andrew Szilagyi it’s insane but I guess when you record live you get used to it
absolutely agree. but yet they are still loose enough to flow like it's a jam. trillions of hours of masterwork no doubt
The man is a wizard.
That little can’t find my pick intro after that intense musical jamboree was adorable
Alone or with a full band, Andrew Bird is such a great musician and composer. His music is the best soundtrack for just living.
world's trashiest "musician." cant hold a rhythm, extremely pretentious, overall terrible sound. it just goes, people will listen to anything just to feel like they're a part of an "exclusive club."
Ooo, I love Madison's voice harmonizing with Andrew's whistle
this guy is one of the few indie artists who can still perform both flawlessly and soulfully live
@buruno Nah, there are a lot of indie artists who perform exceptional live. You aren't listening to the right stuff I guess? But agree about Andrew, he performs very well live.

this is trash, lol. no melody, no rhythm, no harmony. it's just noise
Madison Cunningham, the guitarist on this session, is an amazing songwriter herself! Check out her album "Who Are You Now"-Bird's influence is often audible.
Absolutely. She did a beautiful album.
Madison and Andrew did Gotholympians and it's amazing
Thanks for the info!
i absolutely love who are you now and got SO EXCITED when i found out she did backing for Andrew!!
Manifest..that song makes me so emotional
Music for the heart
Holy crap they are flat-out amazing. Bird is a genius and these virtuosos play together like one organism.
MUST SEE THEM LIVE.
Love this to death. I especially love the fact that Madison is with the band on this. She's such an amazing talent, and is in great company.
I really love how her and Andrew's voices blend together, some amazing harmonies in this performance
I'm glad people like Andrew Bird are still alive.
His live performances never cease to amaze me
Definitely, Andrew Bird makes my life more worth living.
THANK YOU KEXP you are so amazing. You never fail to highlight the amazing artists out there.
Wow! been sleeping on Andrew Bird. What a performance! Great musicians all around.
God that violin playing....
These live recordings sound better than many studio albums - fabulous engineering.
Andrew Bird is the perfect man
that whistle... and that band... and that BIRD!!
Damn, what a talented group of musicians. Especially the drummer... Wow.
I LOVE HIM. WHAT A GENIUS.
A group of musical genius.
the best album of the decade
I never thought I would say this but after watching 3 songs this man has the most awesome whistle it sounds like an instrument it's crazy I'm hooked now I want a song with nothing but whistling all the way through LOL 👍 so good 🔥
Huge wow, kexp has opened up new opportunities to find hidden gems from the US, this is a priceless find. Super slick
The missing pick/pick throw moment is classic! Such an interesting Dude! Kudos to the camera man/woman for picking that up!
That jam at the beginning was beautiful.
This is outstanding. I'm discovering this band for the first time and I am very impressed. Thank you KEXP!
andrew is so talented i cant handle it
This man and this music makes me weep with joy at the beautiful side of humanity.
So Beautifully expressed as this joy feeds us thru an incredible time of challenge in our World.
Again: Engineer Tom Hall just nails the sound
Mesmerizing performance from the one and only Mr. Andrew Bird
Probably the best KEXP session to ever exist. Thank you so much.

Love the AB musicians. Tight. Never boring... finding the sweet spots. Mighty fine group indeed. Many thanks, for another great show, KEXP.
Absolutely epic. One of my favorite videos of Mr. Bird was the making of Break it Yourself, live in the barn. This is just as good. Excellent music.
The first two minutes of video is the perfect evolution of Ellipses from Echolocations: River
Wow, this is amazing. Love this whole album
Amazing songwriter, amazing tight band, amazing whistler... Andrew Bird is the best!!!
When I grow up, I want to be as cool, and stylish and talented and moving and inspiring as Andrew Brid!
Man I am in love with his music.

Best whistle in the biz! So effortless.. And I wish I had his range!
OK - that's just a ridiculously good live whistle!
12:58 I do looooove *Andrew Bird's Great Room Collaboration* projects. They are indeed such precious gems!! :)
I believe he is a great interviewer as well. This man simply has so much talent.
One of my favourite musicians ever. Thank you for the treat!!
If you can name a more creative, talented and dedicated musician than Mr. Bird, please do. I'm always interested in new music.
trey anastasio
This is the first time I’ve heard Bird and it definitely reminds me of Father John Misty.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Stu McKenzie. But...Andrew Bird is a genius as well. its an apples to oranges comparison.

Me Same here!!
That was the greatest intro Sisyphus
This is one of my all time favourite videos on RUclips oh my! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched this
Proxy War has got to be one of my all-time favorites from Andrew Bird!
Show him playing at SNFCC in Athens a few months ago. Man what a great performance it was! And his musicians are amazing.
Such a gem was found! Thanks to KEXP for spreading good music around and bring the life up
Proxy War is probably the best song this man has ever made
you need to listen to pulaski at night
You need to listen to the song see the enemy (anonaminal)
He has so many great songs I wouldn't even know how to rank them
imho it's a little awkward compared to his other songs
This music just takes me away. Andrew Bird my mans, now I see why you're a perfectionist:)
Sounds like David Byrne!!! Awesome!!! Love it!!! Would be cool at the Paramount!!! Great acoustics there!!!
I saw andrew do a solo show where he played his violin with his toes and played a guitar and whistled at the same time. he was alone with no tech except in house. this was at the legendary 1930s art deco turf club in saint paul minnesota. the headline band was the handsome family.
i'd only heard him sing & hearing him talk i was like "oh damn he's got a deep voice" lol
Andrew bird live is as good as any studio musician!!! 🙌💪
What a beautiful paradise bird!
those percussionists are amazing!
You better Andrew!!! Great stuff!
The sound engineering on this is absolutely nuts. 5:55 sounds even better than that segment on the actual record itself in my opinion.
A masterful performance.
Awesome, I adore Andrew Bird. 😍🐦
so HAPPY
Thank u
So wonderful!
Musically, lyrically and in all ways!
I saw him in St. Paul last year, and it was just incredible. I wish that he'd do more live versions of "Archipelago", though.
Man I wish I knew he was coming, I always miss out on concerts I want to go to because I don't hear about them haha
I hate to admit to the GAS I HAVE WASTED JUST SO I CAN HEAR IT ONE MORE TIME! I’m BLUETOOTH CRAZY!! Can switch from ear to vehicle and almost never miss a BEAT!!!!!!!
amazing musicians composition
It was worth clicking on this video just for the moment where he realises he doesn't have a pick. So smoothly handled!
Love this man's music for over 20 years! Can't get enough Bird! Great performance, as usual. I was a little set back to see him with a guitar instead of a violin, but love the set nonetheless!
Really wonderful in so many ways! I’m a new fan!
One man doesn't like to answer questions, one man just wants to whistle.
Lovely music
Wow just wow.
Wonderful songs, brilliant performance

Ted Poor never leaves the pocket. Such a class drummer.
Thank you for your plectrum gift, Alan. 😅
So great that Madison has joined you too... J'adore 💛
Damn, I love music
It is no accident that the sound is studio level at a live performance
amazing!!!!!
Only love! Tank you!
this sounds so amazing! my favorite thing is seeing Bird and all of the musicians he’s playing with having such a good time jamming out :D
Morgan does the best interviews.
Andrew on fargo? Filming for 5 month? Holy crap. Hope he makes tunes for it as well
I don't remember when I was crying and shouting, even not only inside, last time watching music video. I so love his 2019 record. And such a great pleasure to see it. Amazing man, fantastic musicians, great music. If they could ever visit Russia.
This is just amazing to watch, amazing to listen and amazing to feel by any time 🙌🏼
I like this music...a lot
Una Joya nunca antes vista!! Me da placer disfrutar un buen vino escuchando su buena musica. 😊 Desearia verlos en Argentina algun dia.
