As a person whos used cocaine multiple times, I once had to drive 5 hours back from an out of town construction job, and i felt dangerously sleepy driving i noticed i kept dozing off an i thought "this isnt safe im gonna fall asleep behind the wheel and crash the truck" so i bought an extra strength 5 hour for the first time and let me tell you, the sweaty palms and jitters and overall heightened sense of awareness was very similar to being on cocaine, except with 5 hour energy you dont crash out for 4 ish hours
Yeah, those things don't play. I drove from Las Vegas to Phoenix Arizona all night on 5 hours. Just flying through the desert at 2am on the 5 hour ride.

I was introduced to 5 Hour Energy drinks when my kids were infants and I desperately needed to stay awake at work. Over time I realized that a 1/2 shot of the Extra Strength 5 Hour Energy Drink was the perfect boost I needed to get through the day with zero jitters!
The first time I ever tried 5 hour energy I did a 16 hour drive from Georgia to Texas in a bench seat box truck towing a car trailer with my wife, mom, and her dumbass dog and no Bluetooth or cruise control. Never again

@@AK_Ray Maybe u just dont like cream? Ive never heard about anyone who intentionally drinks it black who actually appreciates the coffe flavor, seems more of a statment to look cool or edgey. It tastes similar to how it does with cream only just a bit more bitter. Sometimes i drink it black to speed up the process but almost never a full glass. I've actually been a cream only drinker most my life, but it's also enjoyable to get creative with the flavoring such as adding chocolate peppermint and ice cream to the coffe
Black coffee drinker here. Back in my day, there were no energy drinks. I watch the energy drink people sometimes drink a hot cup of coffee right before bed. It's like warm milk to them.

I used to drink Red Bull for my caffeine, but it never gave me much of a boost. I switched over to Black coffee and got hooked. Tastes better and gives me way more of a clean energy boost.
I'm a 30 yr old Man, when I used to work at a Coffee Shop I consumed at least 1000 mg of Caffeine per day of various sorts. Even nowadays I still consume about 300-400 mg of caffeine a day, mostly from coffee but also tea and Rockstar Energy Drinks.
It doesn't make my "Hyper/Super Energetic" instead it mainly allows my brain to focus better.
Many of my relatives don't drink energy drinks, but drink lots of Coffee and it is almost like just water for them.
As an Eighth Grade Social Studies teacher who was watching this during lunch, drinking my Diet Coke, this was gold.

Can confirm. My dad has been in the military for 20 years, and I met airmen who basically lived off energy drinks and nicotine-two of my FAVORITE things. That’s where I got the habit from.
I knew a dude in the Airforce who would buy either 2 4 packs of monster or a 10 pack before work and have it gone by the end of shift.

I knew someone in college who had a large coffee addiction/dependence to where she would drink 3-4 cups every day to stay awake with a mug that she carried and refilled time and time again. I told her one day to get caffeine pills that come 500mg per pill as a joke.
The next week when I saw her, she was drinking only water and only later thanked me on my joke that she took as a recommendation. 💀

I understand that, I'm in construction but was raised by a mechanic so I chug DEW all day. Plus my father had a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth from the moment he woke up to when he passed out in front of the TV in his recliner
My dad was a mechanic for 16 years, now he's a truck driver. Never smoked in his life but drinks at least one cup of coffee per day. He got me hooked on the stuff when I was 14, now I'm an electrician and rely on the stuff. We both drink it black and piping hot year round, even in summer heat waves. Couldn't love it more.
I feel like the people who drink 5 Mountain Dews a day are also their own category.
Summer: Cold brew coffee at home. Make huge batch Sunday ready for the week. Has crap ton of caffeine and tastes great.

I cut caffeine out of my diet in May 2014 and it was one of the best things I did. No more reliance on it. Got tired of needing caffeine everyday to wake up. I feel much better without it at 29.

As a 31 year old, I’m starting to know that struggle.

I am a hot black coffee drinker and always have been.But there were times I also (additionally) mixed 5 hour energies with liquid oxycodone for bootleg speedball. it kind of worked. The oxy did at least. lol

5 hour energy depends on the person. For me it doesn't take much caffeine to get me awake. However when I used to work a desk job for 12 hours a day (respect to those who do those jobs. I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did) I would on rare occasions have a 5 hour energy drink. It was reserved for days where I barely got sleep the night before (delayed return flight due to weather, babysitting an infant niece/nephew who had a restless night, lost track of time while hanging out with friends/family, etc). The caffeine buzz would last most of the day. I believe one day it was 16 hours before the jitters went away. One time I mixed a five hour and an energy drink. Thought the energy drink would be enough and it wasn't. Never doing that again.

I used to work construction summers during college and my boss would drink a coffee and mountain dew every day. Started the day with the coffee and wouldn’t touch the Mountain Dew (which was purchased cold) until like 11:30 when it was lukewarm/warm
