I have PTSD from the the elderly ladies who would lay down their paper coupons one-by-one for the cashier, then check the receipt for confirmation, successfully clogging the check-out for 15 minutes
I worked at a dollar general for a few years and I had a husband and wife that would come in with a binder with coupons in it and it sometimes wound up where I would give them money instead of them giving me. Coupons are fucking weird and I hate coupon kings and queens

they come in and hold up the line with their binder full of coupons and whenever one of them doesn't work with our store because they cant read the fine print on the coupons they get mad at who? me the worker who can not accept the coupon@@NerdyCatCoffeeee
I also genuinely dislike most customers at places that I work. Nearly everyone is too entitled and think the employees should bend over backwards to please them just because they MIGHT spend a little bit of money there. Most tend to think they can bully minimum wage workers and teens just because its a dollar general or a Staples. And extreme couponers are some of the worst@@NerdyCatCoffeeee

That's why I browse from recipes before shopping and pick things I know I'll wanna eat.
But also me: avoids all the unhealthy snacks then coming home to CRAVE junk while losing motivation to cook 😫 it's a vicious cycle

Hy-Vee is kind of pushing more and more towards their big-stores being a premium shopping experience like a midwestern version of whole foods.
The one in Ottumwa actually has a miniature Starbucks inside it now

i am type 6, the flirter: i buy one single item but go in to flirt with all the single moms, women in between college classes, and unfaithful wives.
im a mix of the hungry shopper, college kid and coupon freak. those 39 cent frozen burritos cant be forgotten about either for the essentials lol

My dad use to get travelers. The bar would put them in a paper bag that said this is not a beer on the outside. He would always keep it between his legs rather than in the cup holder. I’n the 36 some years of my life before he past, he never got a DUI or driving while drinking ticket. He always said it was because he got a traveler lol.
I use to hate going grocery shopping with mom with a book of coupons😒………20yrs later i see myself doing the same…

College kid is very accurate. I always say you know there's two college kids that live in my apartment because at one point there were 9 packages of ramen in the cabinet, and enough frozen microwave stuff for a family of 4

The other day I was in the grocery store and noticed an older couple shopping. She was intensely staring at a list and comparing prices. He was pushing the cart, and opens the case of beer and cracks one right in the isle. While still following patiently. Legal, no probably not, awesome yes yes yes.

Combined with the hungry shopper it can be hilarious and disastrous. Eating pretzel buns on the way home, unloading everything wondering why i needed chocolate cupcakes, apple pie, chocolate mini wheats, questioning where my meal prep ideas went. This is the day I'm notorious for bringing home the 5.00 premade Chinese dinners tossing them in a skillet adding extra noodles and vegetables and calling it a day.
I loath cooking after coming home from grocery shopping. It i go earlier no one else is home yet to help bring it in or put it away. And I'm like it's cold enough outside, coffee first. 🙃😂
