    Thanks for posting your trailer build. I am working on something similar, and you gave me some good ideas. I read through the comments and found that you had responded already to any questions I might have - thanks!
    Also, to add tie-down points, google "lifting eye nut" or "lifting eye bolt" and you can add a ring to hook various straps or ropes to.
    Using the "super strut" channels you used can offer a lot of options. In the trades we also call this "uni-strut", and by design you can add brackets and clamps to it anywhere along the length of the strut, so it is really useful. Electricians and HVAC guys can build almost any frame out of uni-strut, my dad built shelves in his basement with extras from the work site 40 years ago and still works great! A mechanic can build a frame for almost anything with strut.
    Thanks again for your video.

    Hey, TBD. Love the build. I'm curios to know why you hooked the straps to an eyebolt when they're bolted in place. I was about to order some and thought I would just cut that short strap off.

    • @TampaBayDino
      @TampaBayDino  Год назад

      Hey David. Thanks for watching. I placed the eyebolts on the trailer to make it easier to attach tie-down straps. It's more secure that way. I hope this helps answer your question. If not, let me know and I'll try again...hahaha. Again, thanks for watching!

    Hi there! Thanks for your awesome video. On the 2 1/2 square tube what thickness did you use? I’m assuming it’s the galvanized tube. Is it gauge 14 or 16? Thanks

    • @TampaBayDino

      Hi RN_TexasAngler and thanks for watching the video! To answer your question, I do believe it was galvanized and it was 14 gauge. so it is an aluminum trailer, and you added a stainless steel tounge, will it be a serious rust because of the 2 metal, or because the paint , it will prevent that?

    • @TampaBayDino
      @TampaBayDino  2 года назад

      Hi Attila! Thanks for watching. I need to make that correction in the write-up. The trailer is not aluminum, it's steel. The paint should help prevent the rust, but that all depends how you would store your trailer and how well you maintain it. Hope this helps.

      Hi Reagz! Thanks for watching. The width and length of your PVC will depend on your kayak. For example, if your yak it 11', I'd make the PVC length around 8'. You'd have to measure the width of the channels beneath your yak to determine how far apart you'd need them. Hope this helps.
