Contact cement applied with a paint brush on both carpet and runners and wait a few minutes till the get tacky would have done the trick

I used same style trailer. I dont like the idea of storing my pa14 on the bars, personal preference, so I made my base out of 2x6 treated lumber so its 100% supported from front to back. I also put mine on trailer backwards so I can drive it off with trolling motor and back it back on like a full size boat. Just a second idea. theres more then one way to skin a fish.....
missed the videos. hows the truck coming along?

A few questions; ratchet strap brand that bolts to the trailer? The paint you use to paint your trailer and if it needs a primer first or not? Thank you!

Love the trailer! If you have to put new carpet on, you might could try wrapping some cheap saran wrap around it until the glue sets.

You will like the carpet, it will keep the EMT cooler for sure. Wondering why you had to build brackets for the emt. I used unistrut and pvc pipe, could had just bolted it right up. Love the trailer.

Glad you are back. Missed you man! I like the carpet! One thing you can do if the trailer is hot, back it in the water and leave it for a few minutes (obviously not if the ramp is busy, you might end up in the lake instead lol)

Hi. I bought a jetski trailer to make it kayak (Hobie PA 14 360) ready. Can you tell what is the distance between both EMT runners? Center to center.
    Thanks

    Hi man.
    Thanks for these videos. :)
Quick question, what's the spacing between the runners for the PA.
Also I just bought an old jetski trailer for my PA14 360. It has the original square wood runners. Can I use those somehow, or should I change them out to pipes instead. Or bolt some pipes on top of the square runners.
    Thanks.

I am hauling a 15.5 and 13.5 trailer. Just bought a 12’ trailer with a 4’ tongue and 8’ flatbed. I am planning to add a receiver hitch on back with a 4’ truck bed extender to tailgate the kayaks. Would you extend the tongue? If so, what length?

Metal hose clamps or even zip ties might apply temporary pressure until the glue sets up. A cheap vinyl tarp From Harbor Freight would catch any glue over spray from reaching the trailer. Just a thought. Nice work. Love final set-up.

  • @reallevasseur1934

Love your video's TJ. I have a similar trailer and what I used on the steel sliders was round pipe insulation from HD. It comes in 5'-6' lengths and has a slit on one side that opens up and wraps completely around the pipes, comes in different diameters to match the size of the pipes. I used some wire ties to keep it in place but I guess you could glue it like you did with carpet I found it gives my Hobie some added cushion while travelling and sitting in the garage. Just another option to consider rather than carpet.
Thanks for all your great kayak ideas.

5-6’ lengths you must be speaking about rubber correct? It should have white stripes where the slot is and remove those it’s extremely sticky stretches as long as you have the rite size stick it together be good to go. I’m a piping insulator 😉

    • @reallevasseur1934
      @reallevasseur1934 Год назад +1

@@KiddNCoop These were foam sections of insulation at Home Depot, They have a slit down the side that allows opening and sliding over the pipe, no sticky tape, that is why I use zip ties.

Those hard steel pipes are going to deform the bottom of your boat.
There’s a reason to use pvc pipe, they flex and conform to the bottom of your boat.
Use cell core pvc they flex much better than regular pvc.
