This week I'm back working on my DIY kayak trailer build. I'll show you how cheap and easy it is to install DIY kayak trailer bunk lights that glow underwater! These lights are great for those boat ramps at night when you need to see your trailer to load your kayak. Follow along as I build some really cool kayak fishing gear and camping gear!

With The battery further back in the boat moving bump stop on front forward probably got it closer to same tongue weight. Looks nice, might not be legal in all 50 states but it looks good

I launch my kayak in the exact same way
Direct view of the green light bulb from any direction will get you a ticket. Only viewable lights authorized while moving are red and amber.
Besides all that... It is a very nice kayak trailer
Have you always used a kayak trailer? I've been kayak fishing with pa12s for almost 9 yrs now, upgraded the the PA12-360 about 2 yrs ago, same amazon green camo. That said I've always hauled it in back of my truck. With a 6.5' bed you don't need a tailgate extender that mounts in trailer hitch. I built a storage cart on casters exactly same height asy truck bed so I just slid it in & out with ease. Then I can use my Hobie cart if I need to wheel from my truck if theirs a ways to go or concrete. I keep my kayak completely rigged at all times. Only thing I have to do is put echomap ultra 106sv screen in the cradle & myself. So I'm always ready to go & can b unloaded & fishing in less than a few minutes from when I arrive to my fishing waters. With big local lakes around me Murray Clarks hill ext... You have to pay to park at ramps, if you have a trailer. I save a lot of $ because I always park for free because I don't have the trailer! I can get back in way tighter harder to get areas also. Places you can't turn around or take trailers back into. I also don't have or want an trolling motor so I don't have excess extra weight to deal with either. To each their own & whatever works best for the individual is exactly what they should do. Just curious to see kayak trailers gotten so popular. When I first started yak fishing even up 4-5 years ago. A kayak trailer was about unheard of even for big pedal drives
I carry my Hobie PA-17T backwards and my spot lock allows drone launch and load. The whip lights would work laid horizontal behind the fender wells. I have a black light whip for night fishing mounted to stern.

Wow! That looks nice! My trailer needs some of those lights. I think you should try it out in the water before adding anymore lights. 6 may be plenty.

I think you should keep the whip lights, use them only for the purpose that you initially installed them for, only when you back down your trailer. They go on and off so easily. You can probably install a backup camera to your vehicle instead as an alternative.
Looks good. I have a set of old rock lights that I'm going to be putting on my kayak trailer.
Yea.... put them on a locked swivel. Click them flat when you need to load and travel. Them click them up when you want them engaged
Those whip lights would work great as a vis light fishing in the dark

You need look at some sun shades for your Garmin's. I recommend RipaLip Sunshades. Best quality & very affordable. Plus not a plastic piece of crap. Also can put them on & remove in seconds. Best LS pole is Fishing Specialties kayak Bow Ducer, also need their lvs34 transducer mount. Far better than factory. Can adjust it for different depths in forward & perspective
I live in Tennessee not Alabama. But a vehicle can have any color lights long as it not emergency colored. That law may have changed but I think that may be in any state.
I have lights like that under my trailer. Have not had any problems in Texas

Ayyeee, those corn nuts are my secret to fishing.! 😂 I seriously eat a bag of those on every fishing trip! Lol
I would of kept the whip lights and just back your kayak in your trailer using the remote. And now your kayak sits backward on trailer ready to go not have to use your rope. Now u can just spot lock when u launch. Thats what i do and works great.

You drive with the seat loaded on the kayak? Looks like the finders as well. Would love to save that time and not put them in the bed of my truck but the shop that sold me the kayak told me to strip it bare when traveling.....

Why don’t you just put some lights on the front of the kayak.
That would actually make it worse. I pull the kayak up on the trailer from the ramp, if there were lights on the kayak they would blind me. 😂 I can’t be driving home blind..
