If you don't mind, where did you get the 2x2" square steel beam and how are the 12" beam pieces attached to the trailer frame? I have a 12' 1997 steel jet ski trailer that looks similar to yours and came from TN too. I have been using wooden bunks to carry my kayak, but I need to mount a rack like yours to carry an extra yak and/or a gear/rod box. These are great trailers too. Thanks
I get my 2x2 tube from a local shop called H&E steel. So any local metal shop near you should have some. And I bolted my 2x2 tube onto the frame just drill a 1/4” hole on each end and bolt it straight down it holds really well.
You wanna make sure to keep as much weight equal on a trailer. My axle is in the center of the trailer frame which makes it where it doesn’t bounce and ride rough. If the axle was more to the rear it would put all the weight to the tounge and make the trailer seem heavier than it should.
You can gain more height on your ladder racks by rotating the top corner pieces, so that the vertical tubing on the corner piece becomes the horizontal support. When rotated, the top horizontal portion will become the vertical support. You would need to purchase additional tubing for the wider gap in the center created by the short supports, but you'd easily gain at least an additional foot in height.
Remember if you try that to raise it higher you’ll have to find some tubing that’s the same size, and color. The height is really good I just wanted to clear my seat.
Looks great, Joey! How wide is your trailer frame? I would like to upgrade my trailer to something similar to this, but I don't know if I can use the current trailer or need to purchase a wider version
I bought them from Amazon, this is what I ordered. (Pack of 4) 2-1/4" Round Plugs (10-14 Ga 1.99" to 2.08" ID) || 2.25 Inch OD Black Plastic End Caps | Office and Patio Furniture Finishing caps | Fitness Eqpt End Caps | Fencing Post Inserts | by SBD

Thanks, These Bonafide kayaks are incredible, I have definitely enjoyed mine.
@@334tacticaloutdoors for sure I feel very safe in mine.
@effinericsloan definitely, the stability of the Bonafide kayaks is incredible.
Is there a reason for the axle to be more towards the front than being in the rear? Trailer looks great.

@@334tacticaloutdoors might have to try and do the same thing on mine. Thanks for the info.

Yea I didn’t want it to much higher just enough to clear my seat. But that will really come in handy to know thank you.
Woah I didn’t even think of that!

For the 2x2 square beam you attached, how long would be? Im in the same situation where my seat would hit the top rack.
48” total that’s 12” for each post.

Thank you. It’s 45” wide and 11’ 5” long.
Hey! Appreciate the video. What are the length and width dimension of the trailer?
You’re welcome, the length from the tounge is 11’ 4” and width is 45” that’s inside the fenders.
Where did you get the plugs for the emt? and what size did you buy? thanks
