It's a fascinating book! Long, but worth the read. And/or, if you can find the miniseries, it's well worth the watch. Many African-American actors working in the 1970s appeared in it, including John Amos: Lisa's father, owner of MacDowells in this movie, he played adult Kinta Kinte in the miniseries.
Eddie and he's character servant both played many many other characters.

duaffy , michael jackson and rapper/actor ice cube had jheri curls in the 80's and early 90's
