Hey Jax, I wanna know what's your opinion on religion. I'm a Buddhist, but I only use it as a guideline as to how I should live my life, and I try to learn from both other religions, and by atheists as well. Idk why, but there seems to be a lot of hate towards all religions (especially on the internet) which in a way, I can understand, but I feel like a good chunk of that hate is unnecessary. I'd love to know your opinion on this, and thank you so much for helping thousands of us improve our bodies.
And don't worry, muscular, strong women is a valid religion too

"For as long as men and women have roamed the Earth, the human body has been seen as a work of art."
Human physique is genuinely awesome to me. Good lean muscle, how we are meant to naturally look, there's just something about seeing the natural design of our body. Bodybuilders and Olympians are sometimes extremely impressive to me, and just makes me ponder, what are the limits of the human form?

I think you’re exactly right with the three-legged stool analogy. If you just train and sleep but don’t eat, your body doesn’t get the resources it needs to build itself. Appetite is key. I'm a beast! I ended last year not great. I felt so fragile. That feeling kept me from living my life the way I wanted. I was so scared of hurting myself, being judged, etc. This year I told myself to be patient and gentle with myself. 5 months in and I have put on 20 lbs of muscle and am feeling better than I ever have, meeting kind helpful people, and pushing my body further than I ever thought I could. Still being patient and gentle, but now I'm not afraid to try 😊.

I’m a beast! Hey Jax, I have one suggestion: do you think it would be better to replace “sleep” with “recovery” in your stool? Recovery covers sleep, but also general rest and stress management. Some people may get good sleep, but if they aren’t really resting otherwise or have extreme stress outside the gym, it can get in the way. Just a thought! Either way, I love the analogy!

Saitama’s build is actually accurate to the exercise he’s done, because muscle mass comes from weight but muscle strength/endurance comes from repetition. He never increased the weight of his exercises as they were all bodyweight exercises so there would be no reason for him to be a muscle mass beast like goku

Thanks for the vid Jax, and for all the motivation you've given me over the years. I'm 175cm tall, and last November I weighed 93kg. I was going out to a party, and when I went to put on my belt, I realised my gut was so large I couldn't fit the notch into any of the holes. That was a wake up call. For the next 8 months I dieted every single day, and I walked/ran almost every single day, and I dropped down to 67kg.
It's been a couple months since then, and I've been hovering around the 69-70kg range, which I'm more than happy with. I've also been trying to put on muscle, which I think is going alright. I used to be quite in shape back when I was a teenager in the early 2010s and did karate/went to the gym, and I've never completely lost the muscle in my arms from then, so I had a decent base to start with.
It's been a couple months since then. I'm not in hardcore diet mode anymore, but I do eat only three times a day, only healthy stuff, and lots of hardboiled eggs. I work out four times a week at home by doing push ups, planks, weighted ab exercises, and bicep curls. I have considered getting back into the gym, but my current workout regime already leaves me pretty tired and sore, and my gains are definitely noticeable, so I don't know if it's necessary right now. I've also considered drinking protein shakes, but I'm not sure if it'd be excessive given the amount of eggs I currently consume.
Ideally I'd like to be lean fit. I think being fit built would look better, but I don't want to eat the amount needed to get to that level. I've lost so much weight, that the thought of putting some of it back on, even if it's with good intentions, makes me uneasy. Maybe one day I'll be more comfortable with the thought of it, but for now, lean athletic is my goal.

My long-term goal has been 'bear beast' for as long as I can remember. The closest I got was around 18 years ago (end of high school), with a body closer to 'healthy fit' (93kg @ 1.86m), but with a bigger build and a little gut still present, while able to deadlift ~150 kg (60 kg barbell + two girls, each sitting on either side of the barbell).
Being older, I'm somewhat bulkier these days, but with a dad bod/fairly large gut going on (currently 123kg @ 1.86m) and I probably can't deadlift as much anymore. I need to get much stronger (the main thing I care about), bulk up a fair amount, mostly lose the gut and finally achieve bear mode.
Fair winds to everyone that's also trying to get back into shape or doing so for the first time!
    Cheers!

So I was listening to this during one of my morning walks, and I think that I caught you asked us what aesthetic we have / want to achieve. So, that being said, here comes a long comment…
Midwestern father of 4, 31yo, 6’2” 265-270lbs. I wake up at 330am every morning and do at least 40 minutes of cardio before work. MWF I’ve been using an app to slowly get myself to being able to “run” for 30 minutes straight without stopping. TThS I walk with a weight vest for 40 minutes.
When I get off work M-F waiting for my youngest to get off the bus (and on Saturday mornings), I rotate between 3 different exercises that I have dubbed the following: Vacation Arms/ Shoulders, Chest attack, and Compound Strength building. These workouts usually take me anywhere between another 30-40 minutes to complete. Roughly 6-8 exercises each, 5 sets, and reps have been slowly increasing for the last 9 months.
Now I have what I’ve recently heard of termed as a “power belly” and I’ve come to terms with it. I love food, ain’t gonna deny that. Haha I managed to get down to 254 back in February, but counting calories becomes taxing for myself and my fiancé, so we just try to stay active and eat as we please (but not too much, of course!)
Sure I’d love to have a more leaned out physique, but the reality of my situation is that counting calories seems too much like a “chore” for us. So I’ll enjoy whatever physique my body obtains overtime as I continue my progressive overload with my workouts. We don’t eat out or order food too much, we do eat fairy healthy, but my size and weight need HUGE calories in my line of work and even just to maintain.
All in all, I love your videos. Fellow anime nerd and fitness buff! Keep up the great content! 💪🏻💪🏻

Like most folks DBZ was an inspiration for working out but didn't hit that stride until after the military. 9/10 I'm often the biggest person in the gym and at work. I made a lot of progress back then but life took a wild turn (for the better overall) and so I haven't dedicated time to working out as much. I decided to step back in now that I recently turned 26 and I immediately came back to your channel. I have a job that has me hitting 14K steps on average, but I know I can do more since I want to achieve a lean athletic build. I came to this video to hype me up before I start on the Tanjiro/Demon Slayer routine; I nabbed a foam nichirin sword at a convention a while back so I might as well put it to practical use lol. I'm hoping to change my diet too sooner than later since groceries seem to be getting more and more expensive.

Always been fit and slightly toned especially in my teens when I did sprinting at a high level, would like to get back to that fineness level and also put on some mass so my frame is a little less long and narrow.

IMABEAST also my goals stay around 155- 160lbs of bodyweight because for me (5'6 or 167cm) that's the weight I've been at were I can be strong and built but also the weight where I go any heavier I feel less athletic or slower in my running and agility. Also for MMA and any combat sport I cut to 145 so it puts me at an easier weight to cut down that 10 to 15 pounds and wayyy healthier because I can cut it slower than to me being at 170 (i weigh in at 165 rn) also to get stronger at my main lifts for strength. Weighted Pullups, Weighted dips, Shoulder press and squats. I have the endurance and stamina so I guess maintaining or make some micro improvements along the way. TIP FOR PEOPLE LOSING FAT! THE SLOWER AND MORE PACED YOU LOSE IT THE EASIER IT IS TO KEEP IT OFF!!

Thanks jax-sensei for reminding me about the importance of the 3 leg rules fitness... I'm honestly from skinny fat trying to aim for fit built or healthy fit, much more like baki hanma i think... And now i realize how IMPORTANT sleep & cardio is for burning some fat. Thanks again jax-sensei for the information.

The biggest point where I got comfortable with my physique is when I saw people like Eddy hall and Brian Shaw. My frame is a bear beast frame. In wrestling it was nearly impossible to keep my weight down, in 5th grade I was already almost 6ft and literally doing everything in my power to stay below 200lbs. Now as an adult I hover in the high 200's, low 300's. For my body type 260 legit would be lean and cut.

Personally, I'm shooting for somewhere in the vicinity of lean or healthy fit. I don't really want to bulk up, because I don't want to outgrow my clothes, since finding new ones is a pain, and I like the ones I already have. It'd be nice to have more muscle definition, but that's not really a priority. My biggest issue is lack of time, I do a whole lot of walking and/or running just going back and forth to classes, and I can squeeze in a little extra exercise between classes sometimes, but a lot of days I simply don't have time to eat multiple meals. (To the immense horror of my weight lifter friend.) For that reason I tend to gravitate more towards carbs to try and keep my glycogen stores stocked up until I can eat again, while also trying to plan around my rebellious intestines by trying to balance out things that speed up digestion and things that slow it down, because my irritable bowel syndrome will make me suffer if I don't. Then despite my best efforts occasionally I'll show up at the school dining hall only to find that the only decent options are super spicy or full of garlic (which my guts hate) and I just wind up eating extremely nutritious corn flakes that day...

    Yo! I'm a beast!
I'm currently at a level of healthy fit, and I'm thinking that I'd like to go for the movie fit look.
I'll likely go back to being healthy fit later, but I'd like to give that movie star look a shot first.
Great video by the way! This touched on a lot of great points that were super helpful to me in solidifying my goals in my mind.

My goal rn is to just put as much muscle while natural and stay at a healthy body weight. I do at some point want to get leaner but I want to put on mass so I can focus on the harder stuff then get to the easier one which is leaning out my frame. I want to max out my limit first. I want to compete natural in the future after uni and try to become an IFBB pro. I know I might not so maybe then I will decide to go on the juice. But that’s only after I max my natural limit first. I just workout to build muscle and exercising is just a great way to feel happy and have an “ego” where you’re this ultimate being that can literally destroy anything. Of course working out has its downs sometimes but I don’t let that stop me because my desire to become who I want fuels me over and over again and ignites my sense of obligation that I want to improve and get better. I wanted to prove to the world (fate) that I can set my course of how I want it to become. So that’s my goals and I just wanted to say that cause Jax Blade wants to know my fitness goals.

Calisthenics helps best with strength training but weight training does best with muscle Mass. you can build large sums of muscle through increasing the difficulty of calisthenic training like HIIT and Plyo yet remembering to match the diet or eating regime to the goal

    I"M A BEAST!,
I'm just chanting to myself 2 lbs a week, as I'm trying to cut down. I finally after 10 years really have the ability to cook for myself and track my calories to figure out how much I need to be in a deficit to actually continue losing weight.
I was 279lbs , at 22% body fat. Cause since my teens I've always eaten big and worked out hard and now that I'm finally hitting 29 I'm doing my first real cut. But the recipes, the sauces, all the options, to meal prep or buy a food service. I finally was able to Channel my inner Food Wars but through a fitness cook book instead. It's made the journey so much easier.

My goal is to lean back out, in highschool I was 280 and fit in a size medium, 4 years later I'm 300 and in a XXL, I've gained muscle, but more fat, so I'm going back to how I used to eat, and I believe as long as I maintain my muscles I will look alot like kratos, which is my personal goal.
