I wouldn’t be where I’m at without you man. I’m not ripped, I’m not yoked, I don’t have a six pack, and I don’t have big muscles. But I’m not pre-diabetic anymore, I’m not overweight anymore, I’m not constantly depressed anymore. I went through lots of ups and downs on this fitness journey and I’ve even been studying to become a personal trainer myself but this all started with buying a program from you (don’t remember the cost) and sticking to it during quarantine will everyone was stressed about gyms being closed. For that I’m forever grateful man, I still have much more work to do but I know you won’t let me down.

Never really had the physical appearance issue like the homie in the email, just always looked up to characters like mugen from samurai champloo or spike from cowboy bebop, guys who are skinny, but extremely badass, but i have had that like dip in courage when i'll go to workout after falling off and i feel how weak ive gotten, not being able to punch as hard or fast, getting gassed out quick or feeling my legs burn, and it really sucks, everytime it just pisses me off, like realizing i lost progress and that im starting from scratch in a way, but just gotta get back to it, stop thinking of where i was and start thinking how imma get to where i wanna be

Stress eating is real. What helps me is my tiny food scale and phones notepad. I track literally everything I consume, even if I fucked up 2-3 days straight. It helps me personally because going forward I know how to handle my meal plan. Starting over is fine. Think of it as a run in those rogue like games.

anxiety hitted me like, almost year ago. First few months was horrible, i ate so much because of stress from school and others. i gained weight, which made me even more insecure than i was. i had anxiety attacks, and that was terrifying. i didn't know what to do anymore, i was all the time on phone laying in bed, eating chocolates. i was going to school just because i had to, and a lot of times had to leave classes because of breathing ( anxiety ) problems. once accidentally opened youtube and on my page was Jax's video about demon slayer total concentration breathing. since i loved demon slayer i opened it. at this moment, i can't even count how much times i watched that video. And, when i first watched that video, i was kinda happy, for not reason. Jax just have that kinda calming and energetic vibes for me. that energy and vibe, that make you feel good again, and make you feel confident to make a change. after video, i tried it. it was hard for me to breathe like that. but i kept trying, and trying, till now. Now, i am fucking able to stop attack before it even happens. it's not very easy, but when i concentrate enough i am able to do that. i felt like a winner, because i finally did something very beneficial for myself. i started practicing meditation, and i can feel my mind a lot cleaner ( if that make sense xD) Jax it would mean very much to me if you would see, comment, or anything. It would mean a world to me. I can't explain how much you helped me and this is just one example. And if anyone struggles from anxiety, or any mental problem, keep up my friend! don't give up you're gonna make it, believe it!
and now, since i working on my mind and breathing, i'm gonna try to make my body look better
so, i'll se how it goes
    LOVE YOU
i would love to see more videos like this #IMNOTALONE

Another thing tho, you may never reach this perfect body you have in mind/be able to maintain but thats also OK because you will still look good at that point and it's a case of convincing yourself you are healthy and you feel good which is all that matters really

I tend to overthink alot about other people's opinion about me and whether I'm enough. I started getting into this parasytic habit of beating myself up and stressing my brain out for many reasons. Right now I just discovered that i needed to accept myself and give myself some kindness in tough situations. To anyone who feels this way too, know that you and everyone else is not perfect. There is no shame in being so imperfect. If you wish to be perfecr, work on being your best and happiest self. 💖

There was a time where I thought a lot of what others think and see on me, those times are long past now, thank God. I remember the change started after hearing an Indian Guru here in RUclips, he said "If your happiness depends on factors outside yourself, you will be miserable all your life". So to everyone struggling today, find what makes you happy, inside yourselves. Doesn't matter if you don't like as you are now, because we all always changing, as everything else is too.

Jax once again is spitting facts.
Definitely a really great and uplifting video that’s still realistic. I know from time to time as a muscular dude with a high body fat percentage that looking in the mirror I don’t feel like I’m on top of my workouts, which I honestly haven’t been with work, but it’s important not to stress about comparing yourself to others and instead thinking about how far you’ve come and honestly working out and getting in relative shape over the past year and a half has taught me a lot about self control, confidence and effort. And I definitely wouldn’t have gotten to where I am without Jax’s vids, I can’t thank you enough dude you have a real talent for educating people and helping them strive for their best keep it up and know that you’re deeply appreciated by so many people 👍

I'm 17 and I realize this a couple days ago, there's no point in being mad or sad about any outside of your control. People will say and do what they want, and you can't change that but you can change yourself focus on your mind and your body that is how you find true peace. When you're comfortable with yourself you're comfortable everywhere.

100% agree with Jax on this. There needs to be a balance, don’t be an asshole to someone who let themself go a little bit but also don’t enable them to continue the habits that are clearly making them unhappy. Motivate someone to change if they clearly wish to change. Wish more people thought like this. As a former fat guy I needed this because there’s been people that either tell me I can stop working out and don’t have to eat as clean or tell me I look soft and I may go back to my old self. I know when I’m capable of treating myself once in awhile but comments from either side really stresses me out. Great video for motivation especially for those who still struggle to get back into it since covid.

Hey Jax I just wanted to emphasize how great of a role model you are to me. I am 17 years old and I’ve been working out for about 4 years. I have educated myself on the best ways to eat and workout. I am in decent shape but my strength has plateaued for a while and so i find myself comparing to others that seem to be progressing so easily. I’ve found that where I once was happy with being where I am, I am now getting disappointed. Watching this video and just watching how you act makes me feel so much better, it is still a mental battle for me but I feel more at ease knowing that I’m not the only one who have these thoughts.

Dude you are literally awesome. I ran into your channel my junior year of high school and before I saw your channel I always thought like "Man I'm never gonna be like Goku or Baki, im weak asf" granted I am a big guy I'm 6'8 and decently strong because of my size, but it wasn't the strength I wanted it was the confidence that they had in themselves to like deal with the things that came their way no matter how monumental. I never felt like I could achieve that level of confidence. Then I saw your videos and it gave me a picture at someone IRL reaching that level, and it didn't seem impossible anymore. So yea thanks for that, you stopped me from just like ending it all. I'm still not skinny or toned out, but I'm taking better care of myself and working hard to be the best me I can be

I’m not alone, it’s hard when you have people heckle you so much I was the chubby kid also. Always last out picked on called ugly and one day before I turned 13 some shit went down and I was sleep for it my mom was in serious danger and i felt useless. I love your videos and while I haven’t fully mentally prepared for them I have taken certain things and used it in my own workouts but I want to get stronger to protect the people I love and care about. Everyday I have to remind myself there’s nothing wrong with me at all.
I stressed eaten cakes a lot this pandemic and a little before it like late 2019 but I always need to remind myself there’s things I need to protect why do I want to be strong. I sound maybe cringe or shonnenish but what really would happen if I wasn’t strong enough to protect anyone at all.
I appreciate you and this Video alot

I think a big thing to take away is something I've had to relearn in the past few weeks. That is that people don't care about you. And that is a wonderful thing. What I mean by that is people have incredibly complex lives where they are juggling a hundred things at once, they don't have time to care about you 99% of the time. So worrying about what other people think about you is stupid. In that same vain letting people dictate your life is ludicrous because they don't know what they are talking about.
That is the other takeaway. Most people are idiots, there are a few people out there that are smart and know what they are talking about, but no-one listens to them so they usually keep quiet. Don't listen to the shit people try and give you, in the end you are the only person that truly knows yourself.

I actually suffer the opposite, I stress starve. When I get stressed and I feel like I need to eat I will walk into a kitchen and absolutely nothing will sound appetizing. This doesn't sound too bad until I start working out, because this means that it takes much longer to recover and that I have less energy. It really sucks sometimes.

I've had the same issue both with the fitness thing and the mental self sabotage because of comparison. I was in the best shape of my life last year from quarantine workouts. Then I caught covid and had to stay in one room and thought it was best to not exercise so I wouldn't breath hard and spread. In two weeks lost my fitness gains, some weight and self confidence for 6 months and only just got back to even partially working out. It was not fun lucking at myself and seeing all that progress gone and made it harder to get back to online classes. My dog even took it bad because I couldn't take her running as much and she lives to run. Getting back running shape is gonna be a climb but I got there once, I can do it again.

Jax, you have no idea how much I needed this one today. This morning I took a fitness test with a group of folks that I lead. We all did really well on every event until we had to run 2 miles. I failed it because I was completely drained and I've been feeling down all day for a myriad of reasons. Everything jax said about social media and friends I completely agree with and I learned. This video pretty much sums up why I like this guy.
Also the topic of stress eating has reminded me I gotta drop at least 30 pounds. I've been stress eating for years but got a decent handle on it thanks to a friend. My friend who I won't name suffers from anorexia but to help her i told her I'd loose whatever wait she gained and she agreed because she knew I was very heavy and over the past 2 years I watched her go from almost a skeleton to a beautiful woman and I kept my promise though I'm still not a healthy weight but better than what I was because I cut out eating 3 snickers bars and 4 bottles of coke a day. Now I'm motivated to loose at least 30lbs because I keep my promises. Though she's a healthy weight now I'm still about 40lbs overweight (used to be 70lbs) and what says I can't keep going after I loose the 30lbs? Like jax mentioned one meaningful friend is a hell of a lot better than a gaggle of posers.

I think getting into sumo was a big thing that helped me get over the trying to always lose fat etc. I started just prioritizing strength and the fat started sloughing off. I've always been a fat strongman type physique wise and realizing that its alright to have the physique was the biggest thing that made me start working out harder. I focused on how good it felt to move my body instead caring about what number was on the scales.

I agree everyone has at least one or two things they are insecure! In opinion men struggle often more with their body insecurities than woman do because they are way more open about it and supportive in their friends circle. Men tend to not say anything because they fear that it’s unmanly or make them seem weak, that’s probably the reason way men often have extremely unhealthy coping mechanisms.

I've been trying to do better on commenting, but I've been a long time watcher now. Thanks for your positivity, knowledge, and words of encouragement that anyone can start their journey to healthier living. While having a goal to want to achieve is immensely helpful, overall the journey is what I HAVE and WANT to enjoy. Whether I meet my goals in a month or a year or maybe even longer, I want to find out more about my capabilities and roll with the punches. Nothing is ever simple, but having a good crew supporting you in the journey is one of life's simple pleasures. So as many here would say, thanks for having my back and I can't wait to see more of your future videos. Good luck, too, Kevin. I'm not really into fitness, but I always enjoy your mental/motivational content and perspective! It doesn't only apply to bodyshape but also for art (I do art stuff or atleast try to do that) and its literally the same thing on social media. I sometimes have this problem to compare my art with others (professionals) and feel like my stuff looks like shit. So I can kind of relate to that. Also the example with the crush you mentioned literally happend to me several times! Social media can be a good source for feedback, but also a good source to get a mental breakdown. Double edged sword. And if I take a break from drawing I get worried afterwards aswell and stuff like that. it's relatable and applicable to almost everything one wants to improve on. So thank you for putting this video out there!

I follow a basic rule...moderation and listening to my body on what food makes me feel sluggish. It works well for me. I can't get deep into that only eat chicken, broccoli, and sweet potato. I don't demonize any specific food. If i want a snickers one day I'll eat it. I just try to keep it balance. Don't make junk food the main course only the cherry on top (very small portion of the meal.) I will get very sick off of white flour based food. My stomach just can't handle it. I find people that eat a lot of junk food are punishing self (makes ya sick) and find people who stick with a very clean diet are usually punishing self (verbally abuse self when doesn't eat perfect.) Find the middle ground for self and know your limitations. Anyway, my body stays around 18/19% body fat (athletic range for female.) Calories in calories out. See food for what it is....to fuel the body.....just like a car only takes so much gas to fuel the engine. The body is like that.
