    Loving all the makes especially the shape of the Tulip dress and the clever shoulder shaping. I have several Stitchbird dresses which are very similar but have the crossover pleat at the back which is a bit different. My favourite is actually in a Lady McElroy cotton lawn. Agree totally about arms - they are what they are!! I do what you suggest with Naya sleeve bands and have just finished my first Bestie 😍. You have been SO productive. Enjoy the heat while we shiver😂😂😂😂. Happy Sewing😊. Lynne

      @@SewMyTime Thanks Lynne, I haven’t made the Stitchbird dress but I do like the Sewing Revival patterns so I’ll have to have a look at that one, I do love a cotton lawn, very comfortable fabric in the heat of the summer. I think the Naha is a fabulous top, but will change to bands in the round for the next one, it just looks neater. It’s 7:15 and still 37 degrees, it says it will be 35 by 8pm, sounds like a hot night 🥵, try to keep warm. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Love all your makes. I've just finished a Bestie bag. Had to follow a Sew Along. A tip that isn't mentioned, it would be good to reduce some on the bulk in the seams before adding the straps. the last step of top stitching I found impossible to sew through the bulk. I absolutely love the bag. It's very capacious and the pockets are excellent.

    Hi Deb. I find that a lot of dress patterns with a v-neck button up front are too low cut for me. I just don't feel comfortable in them. I sewed up the last one I made.
    I have tried redrafting the neckline shape but that didn't work and on the Tilly and the Buttons Bell dress, I have taken a little out of the shoulder seams.
    Can you please do a video on how you adjust the neckline on a v-neck button up dress/top so that they are not so low cut? ❤

      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  20 часов назад +2

      @@alisonodonnell7832 Hi Alison, it is true so many dresses and tops are very low cut, I think some of the lovely patterns are designed for a very tall person. The older we get our spine compresses from the back neck to the waist, this often causes the garment to be too long from the shoulder to the bust making it far too revealing. I will do a video on raising a v-neck so it is not so low cut, I will do this in the next few weeks. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

    Which fabric do you prefer the Abby dress in? The heavier or the lighter one? I made it in a fabric with a bit more structure and think maybe it would be better in a viscose?

    • @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668
      @dbdesignsandsewingaustrali5668  День назад +2

      @@rachelgarnsey7953 Hi Rachel, I prefer the Abby in the green very light weight viscose, but they are very different dresses due to the fabric type. I would love any dress in the very lightweight fabric as it’s like wearing nothing, not the type of dress you could wear to work, whereas in the ekko viscose you could wear it to work and it’s not see through, the green light fabric is really really casual.
