Thanks for supporting MartyMusic! I’ve also got a bunch of FREE courses at my site www.MartyMusic.com
Marty you helped me get past the stage of guitar where I don’t feel like playing anymore so I just wanted to say thanks.
???
@@josephgraham1075 no but everybody goes through a stage where they don’t feel like playing but watching these videos made me want to play again
I can dig that and agree as well
I really hope that never happens to me
You and me both
The Grateful Dead are legendary. Great and classic lesson!
I wanna see the list of videos that you’ve commented on lol
@@jackismay8304 that'd be a long list haha
This was the song that made me want to play (probably should have started with something like 'Three Little Birds,' - live and learn). So about 10 months ago I Google it and up appears my first introduction to all things Marty. It took a while but I got it, along with some incredible beginner knowledge. A friend of Marty is a friend of mine.
Yeeaah! Awesome, do more Dead. Maybe you can do Dire Wolf next? 😎😎
I was gonna say the same thing bro 🤙
Yes, please.
That would be awesome
I just want to say, theway you play the main descending baseline so smoothly is impressive. This is a deceptively difficult song: it's "easy" to play the right chords, not so easy to get the feel and bounce of the song. As always, thanks for everything you do Marty!
Marty you got me to that intermediate level of guitar I can never thank you enough
I've been a Grateful dead fan for 4 years now.. And this is by far the best tutorial.. Marty, you've done it again!!
Been watching you since I was a kid man. You seriously rock, and have been a huge influence on me as a musician. Thank you mate
Guitar has helped me through this difficult period of my life feel like Im advancing and improving. And Marty you've been here helping me through all 11 years of progression. Thank you.
Beautiful Marty! So easy to follow your chord sequence. Great melody, great attitude! Love your tutorials!!!
Marty you pull through everytime I never know what songs you do. Your the man your videos help me out tremendously and helped make guitar special and magical and I'm getting better than I ever thought. You da man Thank you Marty!
Your videos are awesome Marty! They’ve helped me a lot. I would LOVE IT if you did a lesson on six by all that remains. It’s one of my favorite songs. Keep up the awesome lessons!

One of the most beautiful songs ever made.
hey bud i jus got my first electric guitar n its a red strat n since as i recall uve mentioned that ur first ever guitar was a red strat i decided to name mine after you sir cus on top of that uve helped me a lot from learning songs to theory and i wouldnt have wanted anybody else to help me through this journey! much love man keep doing what youre doing
Marty that was an outstanding lesson. Thank you for redoing this song!
Marty, this is the best! Two guitar parts with a looper - perfect for us wood-shedders. Thank You!
Thank Marty - you have made guitar so much more accessible!!! Best guitar teacher on the planet! I would LOVE to hear you breakdown Sara Smile by Hall and Oates. Classic bluesy but I struggle with some of the chord shapes with the size of my hands
12:36 Thanks for all of your tutorials Marty ! Very much appreciated
One of the dead’s best studio songs
Marty is the man!!!🎸🎸, a true guitar hero and genius!!
That lesson introduction was sick Marty. That's why I liked this video. Keep it up!
Friendly guy and great guitarist and a womderful teacher marty you rock man
I always played that descending figure while just holding down the G "cowboy chord" in root position...I liked doing it that way cuz it forced me to use my pinky, which is notoriously weak...This way of doing it pretty cool though, I'll have to learn it...Thanks, really great!
wonderful playing
Great song for me to learn at intermediate level. Thank you Marty!
Dude!! Thanks so much for this video!!! You have helped me a ton!! You are super appreciated!!
Killer Lesson - Thanks Marty!

I got to see 11 Grateful Dead shows back in the late 80's.This song was played at a few of them. Magical times no doubt... 😎✨
I can only imagine,my first show was after Jerry passed, it was still a great experience but wish I would have been old enough to see the whole group he passed when I was fifteen

Thanks for the help Marty!
Thank you for sharing that Grateful Dead and breaking it down
Great lesson Marty
A new one ! Your a beast Marty
I am going to finally learn this. Thanks Marty
I think it was around 1972 that Grateful Dead began slowing it down. They’d also commonly have a piano solo before the last verse. And the Grateful Dawg version (Jerry Garcia/David Grisman) was also the slow version. But the studio version, the version most casual listeners are familiar with, is the fast version. Indeed, there are a handful of fast live versions from 1969-1971.
Hey what’s up Marty shorts up and waiting for this song I really like this song I am a big fan of grateful that I watch you every single day you’ve help me grow on my guitar thank you so much man
