Brilliant stuff Dave! Loving the look of Connemara 👍 hopefully we’ll ride that part of Ireland next year when we do part 2 of The Wild Atlantic Way - looking forward to the next episode! 😀👍
My girlfriend, now wife, and I were on pedal bikes around the West Coast in 1986. Took the ferry out to Inish Bofin . The mail boat from 1914. Heavy seas, dense fog. Upon arrival back on the mainland we emptied every last cent of cash into the lifeboat fund.
What an absolute blinder Dave - loved every moment of that film, my sort of trip. Fascinated to hear more about Alcock and Brown in the next episode (I can't help thinking about that joke about Linford Christie - I can't remember the whole joke, but "Alcock andBrown" was the punchline....). Easy to get distracted by the scenery like that on tour too.....lovin' your work man!
Mr Flyer, I live in Connemara. Near Clifden. If yourself a d Mrs Flyer ever fancy a trip around this area, let me know. Be very happy to show you guys around!
Those weren't sheep, but extremely short pony's with their winter coats. I once met the owner of a donut shop who also ran the funeral parlor. Fill them with sweets and then lay them out. Lol. Beautiful land you live in. Glad you made the fairy. Awaiting the next episode. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Cheers dave nice to see what we didnt see😖🤣🤣in our dopy defense we tryed to do to much in 5days...but another day🤞🤞🤞...yeah everywhere we stopped US and Canadian visitors... we never saw another UK plated car.. bike till back up north....ps i gladly did get the whiff of peat (turf?) burning👍👍👍👍...atb dave...
I came to Ireland a while back with my best mate on the bikes. I loved every minute i was there and have been hankering to get back there. Great video. Brings back happy memories. 👍
That was brilliant especially those wonderful drone shots. Connemara is a stunningly beautiful place I was there in August touring on the bike for 3 days and camping.
That was a really good video and looking forward to the next installment, there's some mighty scenery in Connemara for sure. Great work, keep em coming
Wow, what a fab video Dave, about to watch episode 2. This video brings back some wonderful memories when me and the family stayed in a cottage in Cleggan for a week back in 2005 I think. We have now done the whole Irish coast but it has taken us thirty years, only missing the odd year. We haven`t been since before Covid so were really missing the place. As it happens I bought my first bike for 35 yrs back in August and were visiting Dundrum for a few days in June, on the bike of course. We have only visited the North on odd day trips, so really looking forward to this next trip. Enough of me waffling, onto episode 2 😃😃
Great episode. I live in Cleggan! The headland on the otherside of Cleggan Bay. Hope you enjoyed Bofin. Great spot. Looking forward to seeing the next episodes. Cheers!
Brilliant video. Very true, most Irish never tour the island. I am a Connemara man, so watching to see what I know. Sadly, never been on Bofin, I have sailed out to it during the pandemic but never landed.
Very enjoyable video. Funny point after the American tourist along the lines of "jayzus, she can hear me even though I've got my ear plugs in" 😉🤣 Thanks for the Google Maps bit. I wish more did that as it helps get it oriented in my head 👍
You've done it again Dave your ability to combine Sight and Story is brilliant people like you make good school teachers you have a natural ability to hold people's attention while passing on good information. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. And we thank your wife for her patience and understanding. Cheers. and keep well and safe. Johnny gadget Melbourne Australia.
Great work as always Dave and top class entertainment. Love the element of tension around catching the ferry, very Michael Palin in around the world... Reasonable weather too for the west coast, the biking God's were kind to you. I guess it was September? I bet that hotel can be used as a beacon out at sea! Thanks for escape from painting and decorating.😎👍
Excellent video 📹 Dave...really enjoyed watching. Connemara is an amazing landscape. There is such a fab music scene on so many of the islands..where i go , near Skibereen, musicians come from Hare Island to Minihans pub in Lisheen, and the musical talent, playing and singing is magical. Great filming and narrative too 👍 Cheers, Steve
Lovely part of Ireland, on a motorbike or otherwise, did it pre COVID and the weather was perfect….considering it was west Ireland. Love Roundstone and Dog Beach, been there several times and Clifden has great pubs. Stayed in Clifden on my last trip, touristy but great live music…
I'm from Coleraine in the North Coast of NI. 2 weekends ago we rode down too Galway and then over 3 days rode the Wild Atlantic way upto westport. Then Dungloe, including Achil Island. We got as far up as Horn Head.. We did want to include glengesh pass, but didn't have time... Connemara was stunning. I rode a Moto Guzzi V85TT and my mate had a 1250GS (common as muck 🤣) we stopped in. CLIFDEN and took the road upto Sky road viewing point
Dave just back from Connemara and Westport and re watching your video again guess what I’m ready to do it all again it’s just superb done it all in 3 days coming down from Co Armagh
That’s one of the few parts of the country I haven’t been to in the lorry. Castlebar, Westport, ballinrobe and on down into Galway used to be a regular run. I’d love to get down to leenaun on the bike next year and see the killary fjord as it looks a nice area but you could say that about anywhere on the whole island 😂. I look forward to the next instalment Dave
Another class video Dave. I hope to spend some time around this area next year as the season is nearly over for me. I also will be doing some of the passes that i have seen you doing. Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks for another great episode. I have to say you've got us reconsidering our UK trip itinerary to include Ireland. As always, the videography is exemplary, which shouldn't be surprising given your day job. Thanks again.
As always another cracking video Dave. I did laugh when you was on about asking for forgiveness, top man. Now then was this filmed pre DJI Action 3? Looking forward to part 2. Cheers 👍🏻

Just discovered your channel Dave after your Bru Time with Teapotone. Thinking of a few days in Connemara this year (I love in N Ireland) so this series of videos is a great printer! Can i ask, with your camera mounted that high on your helmet, does it restrict your view of the clocks etc?
Good man Ian. You won’t be disappointed in Connemara. I’ve actually lowered the camera a bit since then funnily enough but it never impeded the view over my dash. That reverse angle makes it look worse than it actually is. Enjoy. 👍👊🏻

Hello Dave, Why did you not decide to use your action 3 with Dji Mic?
Only because I filmed this a week before I got the Action3. I would have loved the setup on this tour as yet again the GoPro was constantly crashing.
Have you got any plans on touring Munster ? I'm keen to learn aboot that area ay.
