- Please view EP 1 before watching this episode as it will make far more sense. Today I return from Inisbofin and visit the Alcock and Brown memorial sculpture. I then go for a spin in the Connemara National Park and end up with more than I bargained for before going to pay my respects at Letterfrack graveyard. Tonight I stay at Renvyle House which is more than a little bit special. Enjoy!......
To Be Continued!............The final part 3 coming soon.

"There always a filling station when you don't need one" YES! I couldn't agree more 😂
That drone footage. Absolutely epic 😍
Good one,I enjoy your sense of humour, and you don’t take your self too seriously .👍Manxman 🇮🇲
Thanks for another wonderful episode. Between the scenery, the beautiful videographY, and the music, this one was absolutely meditative. More, please.
Cheers Marco. 🙏🏍
Thanks Dave love your unique style of story telling without the sugar coating, or abandoning the memory of good and innocent souls. Thanks for taking us along the vision has been breathtaking Cheers stay well and safe Johnny gadget Melbourne Australia 👍
Thanks Johnny. Appreciate that bud.👍
loving the series 👍 lovely scenery over there
Another cracking episode mate and top notch editing as usual. A beautiful tribute at the end too. Looking forward to watching part 3 later. Cheers!
I am speechless. The video and the scenery is a masterpiece with the cherry of your voice over on the top of it. I have tears in my eyes thinking about these boys who were there lonely and cried with no hope tortured by these beasts. Surreal.
Thanks Baba. Their story needs to be told so I appreciate your support. 🙏🎥🇮🇪
Keep making these videos, buddy. You are one natural talent.
The religious institution in question has blood on it's hands for a history of abuse and now denial of said abuse.
Good on you for highlighting part of that history. 👍
Thanks Frank.🙏🎥
Brilliant episode once again Dave, great footage and scenery. Thanks for sharing with us the memory of those poor souls robbed of their lives when they were only just beginning. Looking forward to the next episode 👍
Thanks Tony. 🙏
Here I am with Connemara episode two. I have to tell you, in 1986 on pedal bikes we just rolled right in. Don’t remember paying a dime. The interior was completely institutional with layers and layers of paint. You didn’t miss much.
A thought provoking and moving episode,
Appreciated Nick.🙏
Really enjoyed now waiting for more
Great episode Dave! Stunning drone footage - really makes us want to go back and explore more of Ireland! 😀👍
Many thanks folks! Hopefully meet up next time you’re over.👍🏍
@@WheelieGoodTV that would be great! 😀👍
Amazing Dave , always great footage, and with some interesting stories looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
Thanks for the video Dave, well done.
The good and the bad.
Stunning video. You have given Connemara a different view than others. You were about 1 minute from my house, the kettle is always on for passing bikers.
Thank You Dave once again for sharing your trip, your thoughts & sentiments.
And thanks again for watching Adrian. Appreciated 🙏
Excellent stuff Dave, really enjoy the history as you travel around. Not always pleasant as in the case of the young boys but fittingly remembered.
Thanks bud. Appreciated.
Another fabulous video Dave... loved all the beautiful footage - great drone shots and lovely commentary along the way. Such a sad story of those young boys who suffered so much. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your many talents and experiences with all of us. You are a gifted story teller and I' m looking forward to enjoying episode 3.
Huge thanks Paul. 🙏
You stingy old fellow.. cutting corners as you cut the twisties ;) ..love your sly smile ... It was indeed nice of you to pay tribute to the young boys. Keep up the good work. Viewing Ireland through your lens, am loving it.
Great video, nice sceneries and really enjoyed every minute of it. Cheers from New Brunswick Canada. Great job. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you.
Thanks bud. 🙏
Was glad to get notification of your video, when after 3 minutes my connection was down. Back on now. Another splendid view of your of your adventures. Can't wait for the next episode. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Thanks John.👍
Very enjoyable watching Dave , actually watched it twice 👍
Thanks Eddie.
That’s a good sign mate.👍🎥
Great Dave. I’m loving this.
Thanks Peter.👍
I enjoyed that Dave. A beautiful area.
Nice mark of respect. I had the feeling of anger before you mentioned it. If only this sort of thing had been left in the past!
Thanks Scotty.👍🏍
I grew up in Renvyle, Tully village. As a child we used to see the biys being forced walked by the monks. It was an eery feeling to see them.
I always tell people about the graveyard, some people would like it forgotten, we must never forget what happened there
Thanks for the message. I felt it had to be mentioned just out of respect. You grew up in a beautiful part of the world.👍
@@WheelieGoodTV definitely. It is a sad time for the nation
Great one Dave, and as I was brought up catholic (atheist now) in a very split town I.e. Glasgow, I can tell you that the church be that one faith or any other, have their sins to pay for, as zealots will always abuse those who trust them the most. Great vid and very touching and these kids should never be forgotten.👍
Very pleasant ridin’ and views Dave. I see these beautiful lakes and my first thought is fishing - drone footage is as ever AWESOME
I’m glad ur saving some places unvisited- something left for those of us yet to visit your beautiful land
Thank you for visiting and remembering the boys.. sad recollections for a similar upbringing.. a long time ago
As you said- they must surely be now resting and at peace
Autumn 🍂 is also a favourite season over here although here on the Pacific Coast the palm trees 🌴 not shedding 😊
Cheers 🇮🇪 ✌️
Thanks for the kind words bud. Appreciated 🙏
Wow, another stunning video Dave. You rode past the apartments we should have stayed in a couple of years ago in Letterfrack, cancelled due to Covid. We did the Kylemore Abbey tour a few years ago, it`s a stunning building inside and out. Onto part 3 😀😀😀
Really enjoyed that episode Dave👏 Great to hear the history behind it all - the good & the bad...Yes the GS is just a do it all & go anywhere bike😀 Thought of you yesterday when I came to a dirt track 😮.....- I then thought better of it - road tyres and wet mud don’t mix 👎😂
Love the motorbike content...but I am captivated by the truly superb cinematography and editing of the drone footage and audio. The net result is a overwhelming desire to visit the locations you visit. I love these videos very much and may I take the opportunity to thank you for your time and effort in producing these excellent and free to view videos. Thank you Dave!!!
The Letterfrack piece is heartbreaking...thank you for mentioning them.
That’s very kind of you to write such kind words. Much appreciated 🙏🎥
Wow what stunning views and twisty roads great history lesson to Dave and so sad that people can act in that way . Keep up the great vids
Thanks John.👍
Just found your channel Dave. Really enjoyed your Connemara series. My Dad was from Dublin so we spent many a summer in Ireland. We spent a wet 3 weeks in Letterfrack. If we went 30 mins in any direction it would be dry and bright. The mountains were a cloud magnetic. Couldn't appreciate the beauty as a child but in my 40s now I can see what I missed. Been riding since 16 and currently looking at going down the Adventure bike route, probably a 1250 GSA. Your videos are very inspiring to get me off the sofa and on the road.
Stay safe.
Ah what a lovely message. Glad you took something from the channel Myles. I only got back into biking 3 years ago and honestly feel as though I’ve missed out on a lifetime of journeys. I’ll be making up for it!😉🙏
@@WheelieGoodTV Thanks Dave. Good on you getting back into it. Always more resons to stay off it than get back in but as you say, a life time of experiences will pass by unless we grab them. Probably like most I had a break from the road when my son came along, but found green lanes and enduro racing to keep my hand. I've a husqvarna FE450 and living in the South of England we've a good few green lanes and Salisbury Plane to get a fix from but with a little more free time, as our son is 16, longer trips are calling me! A trip over to see Family in IRL will be a must.
Sooooopurb vid 👌.....
Excellent work as usual Dave. I was in Kylemore Abbey last month around this area is fantastic. I would also like to thank you for mentioning the poor children so that they should never be forgotten
Thanks Eddie.
another gem dave! brilliant photography and editing, you could be a pro...😉
🤣Cheers Tim!
Great vlog Dave. I must get across to to the far West coast, as I’ve yet to venture that far outside of Wexford.
You made me smile when you mentioned the BMW GS data display. I’m the same with the ‘piece of mind data’ - the tyre pressures and fuel tank range 😅
And with my failing eyesight I rely on the Sat Nav for speed too. I find the analogue speedo difficult to read at a glance on my 2016 GSA. Maybe I need to upgrade to the newer model with digital screen when funds permit and the boss gives permission 😅
Keep up the excellent work.
Des
Another incredible video! Love the drone shots. Well worth the purchase that’s for sure.
That guy at 13:00 totally jumped in front of you! Lol!
One thing I noticed and never thought of. In your area, driving on the left side you wave with your left hand up. In the US, we wave with our left hand down. Just thought that was interesting.
Cheers mate. I must check that timeline now at 13:00🤣🤣👍
Late night on Inishbofin, followed by an early rough boat trip on the Atlantic, no wonder you sounded a bit rough at the start🤢. Great scenery expertly filmed and produced, and the two story segments, one a great moment in history the other a terrible sadness add that extra dimension. I have the TFT and keep fuel and temp on screen, but check the pressures each trip. Couldn't see speedo or display on my older GS. Notice you do not have the upper crash bars they make a good steady mounting point. Anyway, great work as always.👌
Cheers Arthur! Funny I’ve been thinking about getting some upper bars fitted but they’re stupid money.🤪
Lovely film Dave 🎥, and the drone footage is great 👍. Connemara is a great place to ride and explore. I did wince a bit when you mentioned the Christian Brothers...some 'painful ' memories of my time at St.Fachtnas in Skibereen many years ago ! . Cheers, Steve
Are you sure Bórd Fáilte arent throwing you a few euro, i feel like heading to Connemara myself. Twisty road sign to bikkers means smiles ahead 😁
XLNT video, Dave. Up until the backstory of Letterfrack, everything was copacetic. It's a shame how mankind can use/abuse the youngest human beings, just to sate/satisfy their basest, cruelest lustful desires. Their story reminds me of how leprosy patients were ostracized & banished to Kalaupapa Leper Colony in 1850s. These two parallel episodes in human history, same but different, should remind us that, no matter what we look like on the outside, on the inside we all bleed the same....The Blood of Mankind....Safe Travels, to paraphrase song lyrics...."Wherever You May Roam!".....ALOHA from Hawaii
Thanks Harry. I have a feeling you and I could spend a lot of time chatting.👍
@@WheelieGoodTV ....Mahalo! You/the Mrs ever thought of Hawaii Vacay? UK travel, in general, is on my bucket-list coz there's English blood in my family tree, somewhere....Yorkshire, I think?
@@WheelieGoodTV....Ever since growing up, was ALWAYS interested in History, Geography & Travel, minoring in Statistics-lol
Wow. What an emotional video. How did the Christian brothers get away with this. So sad.
I know Jim. Scandalous. 💔
Dave, Just found your channel on YT. Really top class and informative. Could I ask how tall are you and what is the seat height please as you look well suited on yours. I'm hoping to get a GSA in the New Year having had a test ride on a 'standard' height one though what bothered me was the height - whilst I'm 184cm and slight built, I was balancing on my toes and did actually fall off whilst setting off from the dealers - camber was bad. The sales person was really good and did say I would get 'used to how to ride it . . . ', but then he would!!!
I am looking at the factory lowered version but they don't seem 'popular' and there isn't much out there about them. Any feedback / comment would be appreciated.
Hi Martin, thanks for the message and indeed my bike is the factory lowered version. I’m 5’8” so was tip toeing on the normal version. However since buying the bike I’ve discovered an incredible set of boots by Daytona called M star and they add another 6cm to your height through a built up insole so I could have actually gone for the normal height bike but then of course I would be restricted to wearing the boots on every trip out. Nevertheless the bike is amazing and my choice of bike at all times. Good luck with your purchase.👍🏍
@@WheelieGoodTV Dave, Thanks for prompt reply and info - what you said was all I needed to hear - Factory lowered option it is. I'm working my way through your videos, you are a natural, keep making them. 🙏😎
@@martin9756 Cheers Martin. Feel free to ask me anything anytime. 👍🏍
