Was great to see so many different bikes out "but" as an older rider I would rather see it on video than be a part of it. Too many bikers were taking chances that could have ended in innocent people getting hurt. These were not race track conditions. The fish and chips was my favorite part of the video.
I'm in a similar position to you...I have a choice of two bikes for my next purchase...once I convince myself which one I go out see the other bike and put myself back into confusion 😂...never understand why in a big group there's always a few overtaking at silly positions, putting the rest of the group in danger....Great vid, ride safe.👍
I know that slane to Collon road very well, only up the road from me….where them lads overtook on the double white lines is a bad enough set of bends,no need for senseless riding like that especially on a 300 bike ride out like they were on. My only guess is they were impatient and not actually part of the group
Sorry in a way I didn't get to join you on this ride...that's a regular run for me here in Julianstown ..However , those idiots passing out ruin it for others...ego riding is all it is..I'd like to see organizers identify these riders and refuse them in any group..only give biking a bad name and endanger all road users.
I only have 2 years and 15km experience. I did some ride outs last year but was totally turned off them by the people taking crazy chances. They overtake in risky spots then put the rest of us at risk when they have to pull in beside us, very often mere seconds from a head on collision. Experienced bikers may handle someone pulling in on top of them like that but it panics less experienced and novice riders and could easily make them loose control. Sorry for the rant, it just annoyed me when I seen the lads overtaking in double solids with a car coming after the guy at the start saying it wss a ride out for less experienced riders.
This one was arranged through a facebook page called GT24 cruising for a cause. If you join some social media biker groups in Ireland this is where most of the ride outs are advertised.
total reason i don’t do ride outs, idiots running double whites, at 70 years old i’ve lost too many friends ; bikers and car drivers. No lane, no group discipline. So sorry not for me.
Nice video and great job in allowing the world to see a snippet of the Irish bike scene through the medium of RUclips. I love my bikes and have had many over the years but I never go on these large group ride outs for a few simple reasons, the main one being the idiots you see in the group thinking they are something special and riding without any concern for the group as a whole, that's not learner friendly at all and probably scares the life out of other riders . Revving out to the limiter going through towns just generally making a racket is an annoyance to most people and other road users, as is stopping other road traffic at junctions just to keep a load of bikes together. As bikers we like to think we are a little bit special on the roads but it is a false sentiment. We are just another road user and nothing else, same as a car or truck. Dodgy manouvers, race cans and pointless revving just make that rider look like a twat and the only thing that is special is the feeling they have in their own head whilst doing it. Its not all negative though : ), the biking community in this country is second to none in terms of helping each other out and supporting local charities ect. and long may that continue. Ride your own ride as they say.
Well spotted man. I’m making a vid at the moment testing different mic setups and I’m also testing for route 66 as I don’t want to rely on the wireless mic for those long riding days as we could be in the saddle for 12hrs some days. So I’m just curious about the good old fashioned lav mic as one less thing to worry about charging. Hope yer well! 💪🏍️
Dave, is it too much of a problem to share the route and date filmed in the description above? Even it would be four or five spots it would be great. Just to get an idea of the places.
To be honest Stephen I wouldn’t normally bother on a regular short spin out like this. I always do on my longer adventures. I filmed this a fortnight ago though.
Thanks for taking us along 😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🍻
Great mix of bikes, couldn't make it due to injury this year. Thanks for sharing it Dave.

Must do that ride out next year. Looked great.
Two’s company, three’s a crowd, hundreds is a traffic jam and nutters get impatient
That looked like a great ride out Dave, very well attended too. Thanks for sharing! 👍

Looks class 👍
Nicely done sir! I enjoyed that! Only thing is now I am home sick again. 😂 keep up the good work.
Too many riders ignore the etiquette on ride outs. It’s a ride out not a race, the clues in the name!

Fab day great video you put together,
Whats the dash you have that you can mount the dash cam to
Cheers. It’s the CHIGEE system but now you can buy the system to plug straight into the BMW sat nav cradle too. I’ve made videos about them. 👌
This looked like fun. As a new biker, where do you find out about these ride outs?

I echo your sentiments exactly. 👍
Just curious, did the town get a heads up?
@@boblynch7535 good question Bob, but I’m not sure tbh. I wasn’t involved in the planning.
Hey Dave, quick question, how come you're using the 3.5mm adapter & lav mic over the the wireless Mic 2 for your helmet camera?

@@WheelieGoodTV excellent, look forward to seeing that video!
