Huge respect from my side
in 10th class i got a stone in my gall bladder. i was top student in my class also preparing for iit mains. but then i got sick and had fever for 3 months non stop due to gall stone. digestive system was disturbed weight dropped from 45 kg to 30 kg. then i got a gall bladder removal operation. after that i started to get low grades my confidence started decreasing and then i suffered piles for 6 months after that i failed in physics in class 11th. i was depressed and by the end of class 11th i started learning programming i wanted to become app or game developer. so i started getting my confidence back then i got extremely sick again then later found out i have TB. then at the end of 11th i dropped out of high school and started to focus on my health and stop worrying about marks and exams. its been 3 years since i started learning programming i m a game developer now working on my 5th game. life is much easier if you have very few things to focus on and not worry about things that doesn't really matter.

Package :- 50 lakh pa in US
Life style cost in US:
Income tAx : 30 percent=16 Lakh
Rent: 12 Lakh pa
Living expense: 15 LAkh pa(grocery, clothes, restaurant, Activities etc)
Miscellaneous : 5 lakh pa
Net saving:- 2 lakh pa
Whereas in India
A person with 9.9 lpa can do a net saving of 2 lpa.
So understand the fact that your financial evaluation is not on your ctc it's on your bank balance.

I have the same hustle-bustle in my life.I prepared for nda while 12th gave the exam cleared it but got rejected in interview.i tried again and I took admission in normal college and pursued b.a , this time I got selected in interview but I got declared medically unfit .my dream got broked. And I was in my 2nd sem of my graduation and studies nothing and was in dilemma to left the college and pursue my graduation from any good college where I get to learn but was fearing that I will waste my year.

Exactly during jee prep in 2018-19-20 first viral broke me then one of my eye had chalazion which had destroyed my vision and then i had muscles contraction and one more organ damage. ..one by one all my health destroyed and in lockdown i left studying regularly and made myself healthy again by coming out of mental stress... though in jan 2020 i had scored 95.4%ile which reduced to 80%ile in September but the satisfaction of healthy life is far better than running behind marks rank for just a college admission and ignoring people who can't understand pain but are only for jeering and taunting

I also realised I am not made for corporate life after joining Bits, I used to suffer from anxiety issues and depression until I started my fitness journey during engineering and taking my mental health seriously after realising my health is all I have. You appear to be an honest, straight forward, humble guy.
Good for you that you followed your heart. I hope you are enjoying good health & I hope you are content with your life decisions beta.
Your family story somewhat matches my family story. My son was exceptionally intelligent & smart. He studied in one of the best schools in the capital of a very big state of India. From a very young age (5 yrs), his teachers told us that my son is exceptional. He always won prizes for which he DID NOT have to work VERY hard. We heard from his high school teachers, "He is an IIT material." As he reached 11th grade, I did notice that he started developing interests in other areas like music etc., which I did not like.
All these comments, upped our hopes, and we started expecting him to clear IIT, but he did not.
My husband was an engineer, and I also come from an educational background. We were middle class dotting ideal family, who sacrificed everything for his bright future.
After not clearing IIT after 12th grade, he along with his 2-3 classmates decided to attend a VERY famous residential coaching institute in Delhi. It was difficult for us to support his adventure financially, but my husband did thinking it will help him clear IIT. This was his first time stepping out of the house, for education. Long story short, he did not clear IIT. WE DID NOT force him to go to Delhi, it was his decision.
After that failure, he was selected to do an engineering program in a foreign university with 80% scholarship. He insisted attending that and we agreed and sent him there based on HIS wishes. My husband was paying 20% (in $$$$), + additional expenses, which was beyond our capacity but we sacrificed our lives and provided to the best of our ability.
Bcuz it was a foreign country (over 2 decades ago), we were unable to get in touch with him or the university staff. The phone services were VERY expensive due to long distance calling. Finally after 2 years, my husband received a letter from that university that my son is not attending classes, not interested in studies so the university wants him out and asked my husband to pay for everything what the university had invested on him in form of scholarship. It was a HUGE hole in our hearts, which has still not healed 💔 even after 20 years. I cannot find a single such case, like my son who was brilliantly gifted but did not want to do anything with his super gifted life.
So listening to you, I feel for you, but I also feel for your parents. Both sides are right in their own way. We live in a culture in India, where parents pin their hopes on their children, they sacrifice their present for a brighter future of their children.
It is futile of me to write all this bcuz no one has any interest in our life, but I could stop my self.
It is a life experience. But times never rolls back for parents, too. There is a wound in our hearts for last 20+ years. I don't think about it deliberately. It is easy for preachers to say, "you gotta move on". Yes, time never stops, but for the sufferer, it's hard to completely forget.
We never said ANYTHING to our son. Apparently life is as usual, but internally it has never been.

Those coaching institutes are just doing business!! They are earning a lots of money with that!! Which is obviously not wrong! But be a wise person, follow your passion, don't fall into the trap of Indian education system!!!

He got admission in Jamia Milia islamia, Delhi
He got very good company as a placement,he works there for 2 years and now he is doing MBA(BM) from XLRI, jamshedpur

Bro if you studied for iit just for 11 and 12 and after iit you could have fetched more than 1 crore+ package per year in foreign with your coding skills+Iit tag
