      Thankfully they got him an OC. Now just need to figure out why, with so much talent on the defense, do they get beat so badly. My guess is the D is confused with the scheme. Either it’s not being coached well enough, or it doesn’t work. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      @@iBrianfulThat’s his overall 2023 grade which still puts him 9th so far this season… if you even value those statistics. Since when do top ten QB’s have their misses cherry picked for a video? I’ve never seen a Kurt video highlight so many negative plays in an overall positive game…

    Herbert was 16 for 19 in the 2nd half and you really focused on two of those incompletions? He was 7 for 8 in the 4th quarter....he had 1 incompletion! Contrary to your narrative, he missed more plays in the 1st half than the 2nd half! How about all the plays where he had a free rusher in the A gap and he fired a strike to extend the drive?
    Also you blamed him for holding the ball for 2.5 seconds when the Vikings rushed 5 against 6 blockers...

    The missed opportunities are the habits Lombardi coached him to do. Moore will straighten that out. What they need is to bring someone in to help at RB. Without Ekeler, they are helpless.

      @@HarryPratt_3 Its an educated guess based off of previously presented data or statistics. Herbert has improved each year he's been in the league, (examples can be found on the ESPN or NFL website) and Moore has a great track record with talented QBs. So, my estimation has strong probability and data to support it.

Instead of 3TDs, may have had 5 on the day. Or if you prefer, 14 more points. Im confident that wont be a common trend as the season progresses though. Bolt Up! ⚡

      That missed interception was a really bad throw. Palmer was wide open and Herbert threw it short to the defender. Herbert is lucky the defender can't catch and tipped it to Palmer. If the defender catches the ball the Chargers might be 0-3. Those types of throws that turn an easy touchdown into a turnover can cause the team to lose games no matter how well you played the rest of the game.

      The defender makes a really good play on the ball and it was a very difficult catch for the defender. The pass wasn't nearly as bad as people want to make it out as.@@econ0003

      @@econ0003 that was the bad throw i was referring to. yes he under threw that uncharacteristically. Look up the go ball he threw when it was 7-10 2nd quarter. 35 yards fading away on a dot vs all out blitz.

      @@notmiketate That being said I think Herbert takes too much blame and doesn't get enough credit. He is the only reason the Chargers are a playoff contender. He has to play near perfect every game to have a chance to win.

    Idk if Justin dated this dudes daughter and dumbed her or what. It was literally a an all time performance and he spent half the video pit picking his only bad throws. Wild. I remember he did his week 2 performance last year as well and essentially blamed Herbert for the poor offensive construction . Which was literally Lombardi . I . Don’t . Get . It. I’ve seen others by Kurt and he brushes over others mistakes. It’s really weird.

      He also did the Jags game and tried to say it wasn’t true that the OC wasn’t trying to push the ball downfield. He found the 3 plays all game where there was an “opportunity” to hit a deeper ball. Kinda weird he’s always supporting the anti-Herbert social media narratives

    I loved JT O’sullivan’s breakdown of Herbert’s play and how defense play him. He mentioned a style he referred to as birds on a fence and a lot of teams fear his big play ability so they force him to throw under so when he finally sees a chance Herbert Is gonna take it and it sometimes means he’ll miss an easy throw but for the most part he makes good decisions and knows how to make the right throw at the right time even in the end of games that’s gonna help him win games

    Kurt really doesn't like Herbert, does he? Super passive-aggressive sneaky analysis describing "super plays" and yet manages to criticize his play in every single example. An exercise in how badly Justin Herbert played, acc to Kurt. Don't be fooled by the fake praise up front. This guy stabs you in the back while you're asleep. and says good morning with a smile...

      He did a similar thing in his breakdown of the Jags loss saying there were deeper routes available, just didn't mention it was Trey McKitty the worst TE in the league last year & Michael Bandy running the routes!
      Don't know why he didn't mention that Mike Williams was gone by the end of the game so they had to adjust routes in also a new offense. 3rd game in the system. He under threw Palmer with a free rusher in his face & got lucky a bad mistake. Missed opportunity for a Mike TD too.
      The NFL thumbnail guy obv wrote the title, Kurt wouldn't call it a masterclass 😂

    THIS is the type of analysis/breakdown that I want. The typical sports media “analyst” recites statistics and blathers about which team wanted the win more. That doesn’t make me a more knowledgeable viewer. This does. Kurt Warner? Pay the man! He’s really good at this.

      Go watch the QB School videos. Much more extensive analysis and a bit less biased than Kurt has been on Herbert specifically.

      Qb school just as bias idk what you mean in his breakdown he highlights a play that was third and 7 and you have keenan open between 2 defenders in a zone and Johnston streaking up mid feild and yes Johnston was open to warrant a pass but at the same time do you take the sure hands on 3rd and 7 or you taking a possible drop cause it could have been a TD which they got a TD ultimately anyway so what was the point on nitpicking that when situation matters?

    Dude doesn’t have a run game right now. And as the game goes on his o line is shot from all the blitzes. He also doesn’t trust his coach and is in another new offensive system. He hasn’t had stability in a long time and that causes QBs to become in doubt as the game comes to a close. I feel that Kurt should have taken that in as a factor.

    Herbert needs to improve reading the defenses.. had QJ open for a TD and went for much harder route to force Keenan.. it could be that he prefers going to the guy he trusts more but if he improves this aspect I think he can be the best QB overall in the league… he is elite definitely top 5 but can be even better… and just imagine that

      Some people really don’t like that he uses his arm talent to make throws that would normally grade as bad decisions without consideration for the fact that it’s not a bad throw for him. It’s pretty ridiculous honestly.

    Kurt absolutely nails it here. I just wish he didn’t add so many apologetic qualifiers fending off any criticism. There is a pattern that Herbert does not deliver in the crunch against the best teams in the most critical games. Sure, against poor teams he can - but even against the Vikings, the Chargers had 4 downs at the end to get 10 yards to close out the game and failed - almost losing the game. It might as well have been to get a field goal or a TD to win the game. They failed. Herbert has to climb this mountain and conquer it, he hasn’t yet. Kurt is absolutely right IMO.

    Wow Kurt really opened my eyes to Herbert's shortcomings. Im starting to worry that he's extremely talented, but lacks the clutch gene. His ability to reading defenses is far from top tier. Hopefully he continues to improve.

      In this game he was the first player in history to complete 85% of his passes while still throwing over 45 attempts. 🤷‍♂️
