just bought this truck with the 3.5. Love it. Changed the running boards out with some go Rhino and looks awesome. Ford still doing it right unlike many others. Keep it up Ford
Even for those of us who can afford it….there comes a point where you have to ask yourself if you are ok with being screwed. I for one, am not. I refuse to participate in this hogwash.
Mid-level truck at $93K with options is crazy. Dealer will start with $8k off through the door, then the haggling begins, might get another $2K to $4k off even then $83K still crazy.
I paid 56k plus tax (new at the end of year so I did get some discounts) for my 20 Lariat 502A FX4 Sport. I cannot fathom how prices have skyrocketed this much.
To be fair, my ‘69 Land Cruiser had 2h and 2L 😂 you just left the hubs unlocked and it was super handy when needing super low gears with a gutless engine.
We used to do this with a 1985 Ford 6.9 and a 1996 5.8 whenever we towed heavy. People always claimed it was going to damage something, but both trucks made it to 200k.
Have this exact truck minus the tailgate. Although got the tow/haul package. 3rd f150, first lariat. Love it. Not stoked on the price, but that’s ALL trucks now a days. Gotta pay to play.
I have a truck with a lot of features now and my next one will be a stripped down standard cab with a V-8. Hopefully they don't quit making them before I get to that point. I just don't care for a lot of these features they offer now.
Got one of these Lariats with the BAP and 5.0 502A package/Max Tow package/No Funky tailgate for 63K new. You just have to say no and walk away from the crazy prices and one will pop up for a somewhat affordable price. I used to think some of these prices are crazy (Some are) but after getting in the exact one I wanted I realized It was worth it especially with blue cruise.
The Lariat is really the best “value”. To get a loaded up XLT the price is almost the same price as a Lariat with more options. And you get most of the luxury items the Platinum has.
F150. I am a fan. I have f150 and f250 currently. However i will say that for me the lariat is just way too extra. I go no higher than xlt. A well equipped xlt is plenty, especially with these stupid prices. The tailgate is ok. Its seems somewhat useful. Thanks for the video
I bought my XLT PB for 51k earlier in the year with an MSRP of 64k. Also 1.9% for 72. Deals can be had on these trucks, but paying MSRP would be crazy.
We had 4-Auto in our 2003 Expedition XLT and have it in our 2014 Lariat (was also available option in the XLT) and it's a great feature to have here in the Northeast US. IMO, Ford needs to stop with the pay walls to get this important safety feature stand-alone optioned in the XLT and STX models. Same for the Ranger model as well.
I got the 2018 version of this vehicle which has just about everything the Platinum has minus the softer leather massaging seats and adaptive cruise control. Most importantly, it's a 2018 so it was 68k cheaper than that 2024 Lariat. 93k for any depreciating asset is definitely not in my budget. My 2018 skickers for 61k when it was brand new in 2018 and even that would have been too much for me to pay for it.
The price of new trucks these days is insane. They've completely priced out the average working man. Wages have not kept up across the board. People are buying older trucks, or abandoning the truck idea all-together and getting vans and SUV's. These companies are shooting themselves in the foot.
5:00 - I was in Colorado in October in a rented RAM 1500. It was HEMI 5.7 V8 but only 2H (no offence taken). Unfortunately, there was snow there, so in Moab we decided to go west and not to climb the Mount Evans Scenic Byway. Was it wise or we should've been braver?
My spec is the v8 work truck crew cab 4x4 with offload package, the big screen option, no carpet, and black everything, i dont want to see any chrome anywhere unless it's on the ford center cap of the black steel wheels. Same spec for Super Duty as well.
Bought a very slightly used 22 Lariat FX4 502A back in July with 3,460 miles on it for US $52K. Honestly for me their really isn't enough difference between the 21-23 models and 24 or newer to justify spending more money.
Bought 2016 Lariat sport with 117k km with 5.0 V8 for 32,000 this year. As far as I know, mechanically it’s the same car as the new ones going for 90K. What it doesn’t have is all the unnecessary tech features like cameras on the side mirrors which I’m happy to do without.
They are not mechanically the same. The 2016 would be better in the ways that is doesn't have plasma coated cylinder walls like the gen 3 (2018+?) or cylinder deactivation and wet belt driven oil pump (2021+?). Personally I love the 10 speed but 6 gears is plenty. That's assuming that you have the 6r80.
I bought a Ford explorer 28 years 4 wheel drive auto is awesome 👍 huh for Canada 🇨🇦 weather I used to keep them on all the time in winter ❄️ most of the time we have no snow at all in Southeastern Pennsylvania .
I own a 2012 Lariat 4x4 fully loaded with the 3.5 eco boost. Out the door price was exactly $58,000cad 12 years ago. I was worried as it was the first time buying a new truck and heard negative stuff about the ecoboost. But I couldn’t be more pleased with it. It has less than 147,000 kms now and I’ve never had any issues with it.
I have a 2008 f150 3v 5.4L v8. Has had everything go wrong with it. Still own it. Paid $18k cash for it used in 2010. Own a 2013 toyota highlander limited fully fully fully loaded, msrp was $55K, paid $20k in 2021 for it.
2018 Lariat 4x4 crew cab msrp was $57k CAD and were $70k CAD with every option and $10k would come off instantly if you just walked in and said "I want that truck and Ill give you $60k. $93k CAD, no thanks.
Sticker on my 20 Lariat 502A was 72. Bought it at end of year for 56 plus tax. I'll probably never own another new truck because I'll never get a deal like that again. 21K more for the same trim 5 years later is insane
To me there is no difference between the platinum and the lariat!! All your paying for is just a different leather interior and a name! Ah yes, the famous “black” package, with a bunch of shitty-looking black trim for which you have to pay extra but which actually costs the manufacturer less than the fake chrome plastic that they would otherwise use. Nice.
My 21 502 lariat msrp was 85000. My 24 501 lariat msrp 86000. And has 6000 less options. Ford cheaper out and removed a bunch of little things not available at all. IE bed camera, 4way head rest, ambient light in cup holder, light is glove box. And to top it off they changed the lane keep for the worse when you have a trailer attached it now does nothing. Bluecruise is a joke as well. This us the last new truck I will ever lease. I'm going back pre 2020. At least mt employer pays me 1g a month towards my truck. Oh and the passenger sun visor fell off the other day. Sigh.
Ford pricing is stupid in canada i can get more from other brands almost 80k Canadian for a xlt model is stupid and when i see lariat models driving around i like to get a look at the owner so i cam picture how stupid looks
