I'll have to try that double tap method on the powder measure. My Hornady dispenser was giving me up to .3 grain variation from charge to charge with titegroup. I ended up just doing it by hand since I was doing a small batch.
Also, and observation. I find when using my powder measure, that I tap it twice at the top of the stroke and twice at the bottom. It seems to give a better consistency. The extra tap settles the incoming powder and the outgoing double tap make sure that everything falls out the final and doesn't bridge up. Just a thought.
Hodgdons website show lil gun velocitys much higher than anything else. The lighter the bullet the bigger the gap. Maybe to high pressure in the chamber for lead. Glad you got it to work for you!
I had an RCBS powder drop like that one and I only ever racked the arm one time in each direction... loads were always correct.. the double tap thing seemed unnecessary for the powders I was running..
hi Johnny, I tried loading sub sonic's with 8.5 grains of little gone, 220 Green powder coat bullets seated at 2.15. It would not cycle my A R with a pistol length gas tube, reduce buffer spring, and 2.8 ounce buffer. it also would not cycle my Ruger Mini 14 chambered in 300 blackout. Just thought I would FY I the info to you thanks great vid's
Nice shooting. When you get it real hot the brass don't last long ..The primer Pockets may need to be tapped back.. I've been having fun and found Speers got load data for the 230gr max load with 13.5gr lil gun ..will get you around 1500 ft per second.. That's over a thousand foot pounds .Check it out and try it if your brave.. I love it.. Work it up there carefully ..Make sure you're using a good A2 stock.. Keeps things smooth.,
what results have you had using H110 to make subs? i have a bunch of 110 for loading 125 supers and I just ordered some kimberly polymer coated 225s and I didn't want to buy different powder if I didn't need to
I'm new to reloading and I just bought some hodgdon lilgun powder and I would like a little info on a safe charge that would put me around 900 950fps with a 10.5inch barrel 300blk 150 to 170gr bullet just ball park no filler please.
What kind of scale are you using that reads two places to the right of the decimal? I was using a RCBS charge master combination, but the scale went south and RCBS refuses to do anything about it. I am not going to spend another 350 dollars to replace it. I will do it by hand.
My 10.5 barrel didnt cycle lil gun and 208 g bullets at subsonic velocities 1040fps on chronograph trying supersonic load 10 gr of lilgun with the 208g jacketed bullet. But really want subs. Would 1680 powder be a better choice
@@JohnnysReloadingBench I've made the same mistake before was loading 223 and wonder why I kept having cases pop out of the shellholder when I primed them lol
Not yet. I tested some coated bullets in my 16" when I first bought it and had the same leading issue as the 8.5". Now that the 8.5" looks good I will try the 16" soon.
a few videos ago, he said that they hadn't stretched much since he originally made them and that he would not make the case length so short if he were to make more .300 AAC due to the fact the they hadn't stretched much at all. That was a few weeks ago though, so maybe it stretched just enough to cover the problem.
Checking in! I'm in heaven, back to back videos from you and Elvis!!!
M85FSLUVR agreed
the whole RUclips reloading community has videos poping up everywhere on my feed.
Love the close ups and love hearing the natural sounds of reloading.
Dial calipers! Finally! I love the splash under the targets. Smooth editing. Good stuff Johnny.
That sped up montage with the closeups looked great and conveyed the process well.
Wow johnny... That's some mighty artsy reloading we have there. I like it...
Swinging plates, you finally did it !!!! 5 for 5 :) good job Johnny.... good test, thanks for the effort :)
Hahaha All those orange targets made me think that I was watching an episode of Pumpkin Carving with Hickok 45
those diff. camera angles were a nice suprise. Very cool
I saw on midwayusa today, that Pmag had a mag made for the .300blk that's suppose to come out soon
The B-roll in this video was top notch!
I could hear the thumps, I like it!

That's exactly what I do.
Great camera work!
Thanks, man! I appreciate it.

*for lead of that hardness. People forget that pressure and tensile strength of the alloy need to be proportional.
Do you know of a chart or layout to go by?
thanks for another lead video, can we see the rainier 180's soon?
Johnny. How hard are these and what is your alloy/ tempering process?
I had an RCBS powder drop like that one and I only ever racked the arm one time in each direction... loads were always correct.. the double tap thing seemed unnecessary for the powders I was running..
have you thought about trying gas checks? Perhaps that might stop or reduce the lead shearing.

At the end of each successful video test you need to do a dance in a circle shooting your SBR on Full Auto up in the air..
Seems like lil gun is a good short barrel 300 blackout powder. I want to test cfe pistol with a 7 inch ddm4 pdw barrel. I bet it will cycle subs.
Did you make and coat those bullets yourself or are they available somewhere?

MyWeigh GemPro 250. Great scale. amzn.to/2drYwPx I have a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/0jGPsyrJVAk/видео.html

the Redding #13 shell holder seems to be working for you, but its for 9mm.... #10 is for 223 cases.
I have the #10 as well but I always get them mixed up. The #13 is for 9mm. lol
@@JohnnysReloadingBench I've made the same mistake before was loading 223 and wonder why I kept having cases pop out of the shellholder when I primed them lol
Hi how would h110 work
Have you tried these in a 16" barrel? How did they function?
Not yet. I tested some coated bullets in my 16" when I first bought it and had the same leading issue as the 8.5". Now that the 8.5" looks good I will try the 16" soon.
How far is the target?
I'm still thinking it was overly short brass. Where are they measuring now?

I will measure them in the next video. They are still very short.
Is it bad that I can't wait till you show us what the wood stands look like after you accidentally shoot it???
It's only a matter of time.
