Awesome guide. You covered a few things I've been dying to hear mentioned in warrior specs! Instant sub. I do want to point out that improved overpower only adds to the bonus damage. For this reason I think it's pretty much a waste. What do you think?
I had the same dilemm abut for shadow priest or warrior. Then the warrior started to grow in me, as I remembered how I played it. Keep chewing on that dilemma and you eventualy will narrow it down to your main. And you will love it.
Oh man, this is pretty good information. I always have the trouble of not getting enough rage at level 14 and did the mistake of using Heroic strike. I gotta also gather on spirit.
While Deep Wounds is OBVIOUSLY a very good talent, and OBVIOUSLY better than the other choices you could interchange it with, I think saying it is "huge" is a gross overstatement while leveling. What it does is essentially give you another half auto attack every time you crit. Which would be decent if that damage was instant. But it's over the course of 12 seconds. Most standard white mobs don't even survive for 12 seconds, let alone AFTER your first crit on them.
It's more useful once you get sweeping strikes & WW though, ESPECIALLY if duo leveling OR dungeon grinding. Also really valuable on a PvP server, gotta think about the full context. It's possibly overvalued though for solo leveling on a PvE server, but you are still losing the chance to passively bleed targets in AoE pulls.
@@posthardcoresinger Again, I'm not saying the talent is bad. It isn't. But it's not really that "Once you've specced this, mobs will die 50% faster" talent. You will actually barely notice it while leveling. It does help, it does make leveling faster, but not on a ridiculous level. That's all I meant by my comment :)
@@wahrd9299 Again, also not really during leveling. Unless you level with world buffs, most people will have around a 10-15% crit chance while leveling. So optimistically speaking, Impale is a 3% damage increase. You'll notice it in the fights where you DO crit, but in terms of actually increasing your leveling speed, it doesn't actually do very much at all. Again, I'm not saying either talent is bad. There are no better choices than them. Anyone who DOESN'T specc into Deep Wounds and Impale is doing something wrong. They are just not very impactful while you're leveling. Improved Overpower, Sweeping Strikes, Mortal Strike - those are going to be your money makers. Everything else is basically just a couple of barely noticable points that add up if you put them all together.
I feel like I'm reading something I wrote. We're very much on the same page. Also, it has to make you wonder how knowledgeable these so called warrior experts are when they say really stupid shit like this.
The base crit chance is around 3 to 4%, and Cruelty more than doubles that chance. Deep wounds and Impale without Cruelty are wasted points, if you ask me. A rank 1 Improved Rend will have ~2.20 dps, while base Rend has 1.67dps. I am sorry, but I am not wasting 3 talent points for 0.5 dps.
@@Lingura123 Cruelty is not as important as Mortal Strike, and you basically delay your power spike from lvl 40 to 45 if you take Cruelty first. I would never pay the price of 5 levels to get the 5% crit instead of MS.
@@klaymored You don't have to sacrifice anything. Just respec at 40, and you retain the +5% crit from axe spec, since you have Whirlwind Axe anyway, by then. From here on, many weapons you'll use after it are mainly axes. This is how I am currently spec'ed and I've been able to handle warriors with six levels above me and somewhat better gear.
dual wield arms is great as well especially with a dagger in the offhand ... those dodges just keep coming in and overpower the only instant damage attack you have in the early levels
did some math for you on the axe vs sword spec question. at low crit rates, axe spec is better than sword spec because you have impale. at around 45% crit rate, sword spec becomes better than axe spec. so until you get very high crit rates, stick with axes. that being said, the difference is pretty small. at 10% crit rate, axe is ~2.5% more damage. at 90% crit rate, swords are ~1.5% better.

The one thing I totally disagree with is the 2her vs 1her while leveling, PRE sweeping strikes, and IF AND ONLY IF, your war is an alt and you can funnel him constant blue one handera from the AH. . I still go arms up to tactical mastery and impale, but use two one handera, for example, around level 20, using the diamond mace main hand, and (I forget it’s name but it’s a 16.6 dps blue dagger with 1.5 speed) in off hand. I literally get around 30% higher FPS that way than using a bis 2h around that level. Obviously sweeping strikes changes things. ALSO, I prefer the one handers because of grinding on humanoids that run. Generally quicker to kill a runner.

I think you should make the talent screen bigger and also higher resolution. What’s the point of showing us it when you can’t even see it with a microscope? Think.
One of the fun things about 2H Fury is being able to use weapons others won't normally like. WW Sword isn't bad in that case, or Destiny if you can get it... Also, I know WW sword isn't ideal for arms but that's what I did on my main back then and the spec procs were really entertaining.
Its fine to do your own videos, its not like tips out is the only one who can do "deep dives", but you should really atleast call it something else. Really like you in general but really have a bad taste about the recent direct copying of other channels.

This is actually the only thing it does, both in and out of combat. The out of combat 1 rage every 3 seconds is the slow to decay that you feel. The decay itself is the same.
@@nix1654 Then I'd rather respec at 40 when it becomes available. 1g isn't worth the struggle of not being able to crit to benefit from those crit talents.
The “crits are more valuable when you have a 2h” argument is flawed. This guy doesn’t understand maths. Yes, they’re more valuable, but you’re also hitting at a much slower rate. You get MORE crits with a faster hitting weapon, to it balances out. It’s all factored into the dps. I fact, at equal dps, you should pick the faster attacking weapon, because it’s more consistent e.g. you don’t wait 5 seconds to finish off an enemy on 1% health.
That may be the case for dungeon and raid content, but when you are leveling, you want to use rend and hamstring to trade one auto attack. If you stand there for 3.6 seconds, the enemy will likely get a few hits on you, but if you hamstring and run away and then come back in range at the end of your swing, they'll only get one quick auto attack while you get one slow auto attack on them.

I cant wait for all these private server players to get their ass handed to them in classic. They think they are going to do Furry tanking in raids and not be gear and they will kill their guilds. I raided in vanilla as a Warrior and I can tell you that unless you are rocking full Naxx gear you are not Furry tanking anything at level. Yea level dungeons you can tank without being prot, but raids you will need to be prot. Private servers are way off when it comes to how bosses and mobs work in vanilla. Ion told the developer of Nost he was completely wrong how Onyx was programmed on Nost. We also know many of the mobs in the world do not work as they did in vanilla, also many of the dungeon mobs and bosses are the same. So if you are missing many of the abilities of how mobs and bosses work on private server you should be able to do odd specs on these servers and be successful. However when you put the REAL BLIZZARD CLASSIC servers live a lot of players will be shocked how much harder it will be.
Now that everything has been dual wield fury prot tanked even in entry level gear at max level how do you feel? Classic is easier than private servers, you were way off huh? lmao
