Agreed. Dany becoming a mad queen almost instantly and her subsequent quick death didn't do her character justice whatsoever. Her heel turn should have been more fleshed out. Unreal how such a great show was ran to the ground like this.
Agreed. I was ok with how Dany went mad until the finale. The explanation given in the show just did not make sense with her character. I also would have liked some more buildup for the Night King's death. I also wished Bran would have been given more screen time since they named him king. That's not throwing shade. That is an incredibly polite and professional writer acknowledging what everyone already knew - that the series could have kept going had it not been for D&Ds wishes.
@@Jacob-ge1py Not really? Throwing shade would be if he, subtly or otherwise, complained about how D&D were acting unprofessionally or that they had done a poor job, or saying anything negative about them. I don't understand why D&D didn't just leave the show and let other writers continue it? Why cram 2-3 seasons in 6 episodes. Ruined the show for a lot of people..
I heard HBO wanted 10 seasons, while D&D wanted only 7. HBO managed to make them stretch it to 8 seasons, but then they decided to shorten the number of episodes per season. HBO wanted the show to continue, but seeing as D&D didn't want to run the show past season 8, they decided not to hire new writers because they thought it was too much of a gamble concerning viewership. A dumb decision if you ask me, but anyway.
+S3Dx Compilations It caused me to stop watching GOT and not watch the prequels, which is pretty bad since I watched GOT from the beginning/used to be my favorite show
The reason they did 7-8 like that is because there supposed be 10 seasons but they wanted 7 so they split season 7 in half basically into 7 and 8. Blame it on D&D because they wanted the show to end.
honestly I am pretty happy that the last season found an end now. It was quiet painful to watch a show for nearly ten years, always wait a year or two between the seasons and then see it rushed down like that. 10 Episodes in the Last season wouldn´t have made it better. It already started in season 6 and 7 and season 8 was the meltdown
I honestly though season 8 would be 10 episodes even tho 7 was 7 as that was cool ( you know .......seven kingdoms and stuff ) Basically I hoped it would be like this Season 1-6 (10 episodes) Season 7 (7) Season 8-? (10)
A perfect GOT for me: Season 1-6 pretty much the same, but also with a proper Dorne plot. Season 7, Dany arrives and she starts a war, setting the seeds for her going mad. Cersei acts like her father and makes a bunch of strategic moves. Ends with the white walkers destroying the wall. Season 8 .The white walkers attack but they reach much further than Winterfell. Dany and Cersei continue their war and maybe Highgarden and Dorne play a much bigger role in the war. Also the Greyjoys and other Houses help the war effort against the white walkers. Dany, who has shown many hints of going mad at this point, helps defeat the white walkers and falls in love with Jon. Season 9. The Cersei-Dany war now is front stage and but it involves more than 2 sides. The north recovers and in the last few episodes helps Dany, who has gone full mad at this point. The season ends with The destruction of King's Landing. Season 10. Dany breaks up with Jon but lets him live. She puts her plan of "freeing the whole world" in motion. A major battle happens with Highgarden and/or Dorne, in the first episodes, wickening both armies. Dany wins. She Starts going towards the north. The ninth episode (yes all seasons have 10 episodes) ends with Dany army fighting the northern houses, The Vale and the Riverrun houses, somewhere in Riverrun. There are "good" and "bad" people on both sides of the battle, kinda like the battle at blackwater bay. Jon wins and Sansa, who has shown true leadership skills from saving the north from starvation after the white walkers attack, sits on the iron throne. Jon becomes King in the North. Also the war feels much more like season 3. Where a lot of small battles happen of screen. It only needs 3-4 major battles to work
And the problem was not HBO...D&D only wanted one 7th season, and HBO made then at least two shorter ones...and this was already rushed crap. Teleport Euron with quantum torpedo bolts.

It would be great bitter-sweet ending, because we would see that she can build a better world but we would still back up killing her due to the methods she choose.
Allstillwell I’d say The Mad Queen arc should have come before the Long Night. That Long Night was supposed to have wiped most of Daenerys armies and would have in fact slaughtered most of Westeros even if it was won by the living, it’s only by a plot stretch that D&D kept this many unsullied/Dothrakis alive.

And really george if you have time to executive produce her show ''which i'm sure will be the next breaking bad'' you have time to finish a damn book this decade.
Thats most likely going to be one of the prequels, a lot of people want to see Roberts rebellion, and George did say one of the prequels will take place before the events of GOT
@@smokeythagamer8521 I think they confirmed that won't be in any of the prequels. From what we know, one is set 100 years before and another 5,000 years.

The prequels don't sound that interesting anymore when we know that at the end nothing mattered. All the prophecies, visions. D&D just ruined everything.

Even 9 seasons would have been enough. Season 8 for the long night, and season 9 for the war with cersei/conclusion would have been perfect. But no, they wanted that star wars money so they decided to shit out 6 episodes and call it a day
even 10 episodes in season 8 would have made a huge difference in pacing, it wouldn't have been ideal but still better than what we got. The biggest issue is Dany going mad queen, you probably need at least 2 seasons to really show her change well, showing the shift the whole show would have been prime but meh. People say she went crazy in 2 episodes but honestly go watch season 8 again. She talks about how the northerners don't like her, she's clearly jealous/scared of jon. The signs are there, it's not great but they are there.
Let's not forget the tireless artists and crew behind the camera and in front, and how much work went into making this season. Those are the true heroes. If D&D somehow were able to tell a proper story with believable plot and a coherent narrative, then a 6 (long) EP season 8 could actually maybe work. Even though i would prefer a full season of 10 episodes. You could tell that everyone but D&D were actually trying their best.
@@MayhemTyphone Nah, 6 eps is not enough. You need the breathing space between the big eps to relieve tension. As this season had none of that, but 2 big eps and a finale, the pacing was completely fucked. Like going on a rollercoster backwards. Rhaegal's death is the biggest example of this. You just don't care because you haven't had the tension of the previous ep (Long Night) relieved yet.

Agreed. Dany becoming a mad queen almost instantly and her subsequent quick death didn't do her character justice whatsoever. Her heel turn should have been more fleshed out. Unreal how such a great show was ran to the ground like this.
Dany turned into a mad queen can be acceptable Only of they have given enough reason
Coming to her murder by Jon Snow can't be justified
Agreed. I was ok with how Dany went mad until the finale. The explanation given in the show just did not make sense with her character. They should have just keep the 10 episodes format per season.

Kinda sucked? It sucked 100 percent cock in every way possible. Dipshit and Dumbass made sure of that
You remind me of my friend Jay. Jay wish producers like d&d weren't so hungry for money.
@@commelephenix4702 if they actually wanted money, they would've done a better job, and do 10+ seasons.
He forgot to mention that D&D has a new contract with Star Wars so that's why they're moving on
I was pretty disapointed we didnt get a bran flashback of rhaegar and roberts battle on the trident.
The 100 year one will be Dunk and Egg, the 5000 year with be the long night
Smokey 316 ‘One of the PREQUELS will take place before the events of GOT’. Read that again please.
@@smokeythagamer8521 that would be pretty good to have a whole series on roberts rebellion but from what i hear the first spin off is gonna be based on the long night and the white walkers so a roberts rebellion spin off is probably gonna take years to make unless each spin off is only 1 season long.
This clip has been living rent free in my head since I first saw it years ago
The prequels don't sound that interesting anymore when we know that at the end nothing mattered. All the prophecies, visions. D&D just ruined everything.
The original Long Night could be quite interesting, and the story of the Targaryen dynasty is quite engaging.
+Žan Ujčič Atleast for me, I am not watching it due to how poorly the night king story was in GOT.
@@jameswhite3415 this is dd fault now no one want to see prequels
Raj Susai 1000% true. None of it mattered
What about the children of the forest vs the first men? That seems interesting, we would get more backstory on the “others”.
I will not be watching any star wars made by D&D and nobody should
I dont expect to much from upcoming Starwars either. they are pretty shit writers to begin with
Cx
I'm with you buddy
Lol yeah right. You'll all be watching opening night with your storm tropper outfits on
Just pirate it.
The damn writer is on our side! wtf dude. D&D are freakin asshats.
God bless this man.
If he was on our side he would've done his fucking job and delivered his books on the very generous schedule, so D&D wouldn't have to go off several vague notes when writing episodes.
@@PetersaberHD That's one point to make. Another point to make would be: get actual writers and not adopters...
@@PetersaberHD it's not that easy to write a story. Wouldn't you say this last season has shown what happens when you try and rush it?
@@PetersaberHD George is not gonna rush his masterpieces for the sake of your convenience
@@PetersaberHD
Are u crazy his books take long time to write that's what makes them good and theirs a shit ton more characters in the books how the fuck do you want him to kill over 40 characters for because you wanted the books faster....😑😑
As he said all d&d had to do was look at the lore and go off of that this is not George fault
Should had been 10 Seasons with 10 Episodes Each, and each Episode being a hour long 😡.
Wanted a life?
But...but...Game of Thrones is life
No. Shrek is
They could've made even more money if they got to 10 seasons.
Nickolas McKenzie Disney pays more!
@@nightraven2975 If more money was their motivation they could have sold their exclusive rights to the writing and not have to even work on the show.
Well and honestly it seemed like most of the cast was perfectly happy continuing to work on the show.
this makes me irrationally upset :(
No no, it's pretty reasonable to be mad about this.
Ive been dead inside since Season 6 tbh
@@CarlMarxPunk Yes get mad over a show. Especially when it's not real.
@@CarlMarxPunk Also the books were always better everyone was stupid for trusting the X-Men origins wolverine writer to end it.

A song of fire and ice books: Am i a joke to you?
Quite fitting that he is working on something called "who fears death" as his fans are fearing for his death for decades and he doesn't seem to be bothered by the thought of it lol
Who fears death novel is SO GOOD though
We do. We fear death. His.

@@lipeprusch You think he isn't bothered by the thought of dying? I don't know where you're getting that from.
I like your username. I just went on a hunt for the meaning of omnivium.
They shortened the seasons AND took two years to film the last one.
99% Staging, Acting, Costumes, Music, CGI, Special Effects, Wolf Squad (I was sometimes awed by Inside The Episode on how they filmed shit)
1% Writing
100s of people putting in their best effort in their respective areas, meanwhile D&D cum on each other's face in a sign of 'good job laddy' after 3 hours of hangover writing, then go on to smear their whole body in excrement in hope of fucking up another franchise for some little dosh. They must've had more issue with thinking shit up on the fly during their after episode interviews because, as every good accomplished writer knows, your story isn't complete by a meta explanation right after.
