Love your videos. Whenever I feel like I can't come up with ideas to spice up my shots I come to your channel and you never fail to give me that creative inspiration I needed.
Cool video, amazing tips as always! Just one thing, the Aputure Nova is set incorrectly on the C-stand, that could easily fall and land on someone. The grip head needs to be on the right side of the c stand so it tightens instead of loosens.
I am sooo glad I found your channel today. This is exactly what I was looking for to level up my skills and you gave it in a very digestible form. Thank you!
Man I hope I can one day have my talking head videos look like yours! Still use a 90D so maybe I need something with log capabilities, but man, you’re the 🐐
Jesus this lighting is on point, And i am not talking about the music video, I am talking about your RUclips tutorial, everything is desaturated in the back, - the music video lighting is on another level... supreme Like level Great job
I’m a theatrical lighting designer in college but since I was young I’ve always had such an interest in music videos. How does one get into the music video lighting realm? Where did you start?
Loved the video man, but you set up the c-stand for that Nova backward. Be careful with that brotha; it’s a heavy light to have over head. Also not the ideal stand for a light that size.
The arm is rigged on the wrong side and there is no leg facing the weight. This is the wrong stand for a 20 pound light all together. I’m glad no one was hurt.
YC shit looks cinematic and dope that off rip your mind starts telling you that "ah the artist prolly dropped a big budget for this video", buh when he breaks I down its actually easy stuff, just executed perfectly with intention. You mad inspiring bro, especially for us with no crazy gear.
Love this studio.... great staff. I shot a Photoshoot with a artist from Japan there a couple years back. Actually used a projector spot as well. This is dope YC!
yo man! been watching you for a minute now! you've helped me a lot starting my media business!. i have a question i cant seem to find the answer anywhere... how do you white balance your camera when using rgb lighting or coloured lights?
You need to do more projects like this purely for content. I do it in photography as TFP. The stuff you do is amazing. Artist gets a free video and you get content to teach and talk about that you can show off now instead of waiting for the artist to publish.
Great video! I’m a one man production crew and I struggle with the fact that I have to load several cases/bags for my shoots. Any insight on what load in/load out looks like for you on some of your video shoots?
Hey! Thanks for the video, Im trying to execute a more stark overhead lighting that mostly highlights the face and maybe the shoulders of my subject. Is there anyway to do this without all the spill? Thank you
@@YCImaging could might as well have snapped ot bent to hell, grip safety is important. Any gaffer would be horrified. 10kg is fine on a c-stand straight up but to boom it is a whole different question
Nothing I do is “safe” haha, I get s#!+ done with the budget I have. In a perfect world we’d all have the budget for a professional gaffer, I’ll keep in mind your suggestions tho.
I have the Nova 300c, got it recently and love it. I am terrified of using a basic cstand to boom it over a person though… it’s incredibly heavy!! I can barely extend the height of a stand with my weak arms 😝have you had issues with this? Wonderful footage!
@@YCImaging I totally understand however more speaking on the close shots of his face details too dark to me , but your style is your style, amazing work as always I'm a Cinematographer from jamaica
For the first time ever you produce boring video , we are interested in the practical aspect A - Z on how you arrived at the light settings. However Thank you very much
Can someone please tell me the car mount he used for the car scenes? I’ve been looking for a heavy duty car mount to start shooting car scenes, but I’m scared of buying something where my camera will drop.
can you make sure my logic is good? my thought process when editing music videos is finish it in premier pro first, then import the clips to after effects to edit them individually. because everything will already be done transition wise, but in after effects you’re just doing your nice edits. good logic or no?
Bro I feel you on artist not dropping the visuals, to combat that you ever thought about creating a channel specifically for music videos and charging ppl to post there?
@@YCImaging facts same here I'm pushing this one artist I want him to grow his own community just asking bc I see some platforms do that. We feel your pain though brother just drop haha. 2 of my favorite lighting setups that were super simple! Let me know if I should make more lighting content.
Love seeing lighting breakdowns. It definitely helps! Thank you man. Looking forward to more. FYI spell check does not like the word replicatable lol!
Your logo is fire 🔥 great vid
Defo! Really enjoyed this
Hey man, hope all is pleasant on your end! Yea I thought about some lighting set up for different kinds of music videos. Or techniques
Yes, please do. I know how to replicate most scenes but it helps to hear your rationale and study your approach. It puts some reason to the madness.

Excelente Contenido bro! ¿Dónde puedo ver el video final?
Great tips as usual.
I like how in your videos you always unselfishly share your process, ideas and techniques. Thanks
🙏
Man that lighting setup is fire!
Amazing Video Brodie! And We Def Need More Lightning Content.
Dope color ideas.
That Nova is beautiful! 🔥 Love the creative circle you added to the background, reminded me of "Wolves" with Big Sean.
I love how you get the sharp edge of the circle of light in the background at the same time as getting super soft blooming, from the prop lens.
That first frame gives me heavy "Watchmen" vibes.

Love it im still trying to get aperture and ISO for my videos right and this is the main thin i need to know about it im getting better tho
Keep practicing, it’s a process!
Great content like always 💯
hey buddy whats the name of the glass used behind the lense and where to get it please
as a free lance gaffer Im always looking for lighting set up vids and i can't say how happy i am to see yours involve RGB lights.
Thanks for the video

The wandering DP style videos are good. You should do a whole series of how you lit projects with this format.

Can you do a review for the new Lumix BGH1 ??? I think it's a great option that needs a music video review

@YCImaging bro how do you plan lighting for you video shoot. Like how do you plan that for this video I'll do this kind of a lighting setup.
Awesome. Thanks man!

be careful when you use the stand and setup like this.. it's set up wrong. you're gonna kill or injure the talent.
