I’m 71 years old and have created my own still images and video for my ranch brokerage business for 20 years now. As I begin to retire, I hope to use all this gear I have (mostly Lumix now) to create videos depicting the hard life on large Western ranches. I want to thank you for sharing your amazing creations. I’ll never be as good as you, at this point in my life. But as long as I am able I can work toward that goal. Thanks again. Jim in Oregon
As a fujifilm user, I look forward to every video you post. I am a simple man, I see it and I click it. I listen, take notes and apply. If I fail, I try again. Thanks for inspiring many of us @Ermia ! The fact that you used thypoch lens to do this is insane. It helps me to understand that it is not about the Gear, there are so many elements in Cinematography that needs to be explored. By the way can we clap for the Actress?! She is amazing in every shot, her acting conveys your narration so well. Every single detail is purposeful and masterfully done.
Ermia/mEria IMO this is the best approach when it comes to tutorials. Especially the part where you explain how you study and break down scenes, shots of other creators, is the most essential lesson to everyone out there. And info about your lighting setup is short and precise, not long and boring blah-blah. It's a matter of time before your videos are sponsored by the big names (no pun intended for Milanote which seems to be a precious tool I hadn't heard of). I don't want to congratulate you. I want to thank you.
Creating a short film to breakdown the process of creating the short film the character in the short film is creating around them. Man. This is beautiful.
I've been watching camera and DP stuff videos on youtube for a very long time and your channel is by far the best one. Not even a close competitor. Are you still in Turkey or was it for a paid job? My god.. You are doing everything right in every single video.. As they say in the schools... "Show... Don't tell" .. what a channel!
@@ermiaramez976 Keep up the spirit man! Continue producing inspiring and educational content. I’ll be the first to watch it, and can’t wait for the next one!
This is probably one of the best videos I’ve seen that explains how to light a scene while bringing the lighting to life-wrapped up as a mini-film where those same lessons are beautifully applied.
I have just discovered this channel and oh boy am I blown away! The attention to detail, the way things are explained, the acting, the mood created etc are absolute top notch! Insanely good quality that sucks me in and gets 110% of my attention for the entire video. Keep it up! You inspire and educate and you should have 100x the amount of subscribers.
Who the hell are you man! Freaking good quality.. and narration was top class. The way you presented this really looked like it's from a hollywood movie. The music and your voice was soothing to listen.
Wow!! I mean...wow...you hit straight in my heart..recently I've been frustrated cause my lighting is just not coming out the way I envisioned...your last advice hit even harder..."if you just don't give up and keep doing it, you will be amazing at it" ...thank you so much for this!
Thanks for watching bud… If you need a bit more inspiration, watch my last year video on this subject “how to make cinematic short film with nothing” and look how much difference was made just in the last year… it’s all about practice and putting enough time and energy on it… Keep going
@ermiaramez976 anything you make is an inspiration for me... really appreciate all that you do......hopefully one day my work will be good enough to share with you
Im amazed by every second of this video . This is what a master does and knows how to show beauty in every single part of it , I'm so proud that even words can't describe my feeling after watching this , you're phenomenal, you're the ART , love u talented/ star one🖤🌟
Ermia, your videos are always so inspiring! Your creativity and unique perspective shine through every time. Keep up the amazing work-you're a true artist!
Incredible video, really inspiring. One thing I’d love from channels like this is overlays showing settings such as WB, shutter angle, ISO, aperture, lens etc… It would be interesting to see the creative process in camera vs the grade.
Thanks man! I shared a bit about these in previous videos before. Usually the lenses will be mentioned in the video, the ISO is always on the Native ISO. And the aperture on the widest
This is so epic! Absolutely loved it. So much epic shots, lighting masterpiece and an excellent educational. Definitely a video to look back to for reference and refresher.
Bro ... I just hit the Subscribe button instantly ... *** ... WHAT!? That was something else ... FINALY!!! Many congrats for the work that you are putting in, I really appreciate it!
💯 i always tell people that just starting and asking me what is the best camera to get. I tell them to learn lighting first. Correct lit shot on the crappiest camera will look better than the crappiest lit shot on the best camera. Like a painter with brush, photographer paint with light. Awesome channel by the way. Amazing work!
I am a simple man, I see Ermie makes a new video, I click instantly. Love your work, one of the only DP's on RUclips that lets their art speak for them
Amazing job once again! Btw! I'm really struggling with achieving these mood dark looks because I always get too much noise in the shadows. I'm using an a7IV which I know you've used in a few videos with great results, so I was wondering of you could let me know what you do to get clean shadows. 😅
I think I cried with excitement, then joy,, then wonder. This video was amazing. All of your vids are pure cinema. You should have a million subscribers already. The only channel on youtube where every video should be on the big screen.💯. Keep schooling us. LOL!!!
Great video, cleverly showing the story developing with amazing shots and folding in almost BTS type footage and thinking. Nicely done including the deleted scenes. Thank you, fab.
Thank you for this brilliant and inspiring video once again. Though out my photography journey lighting was my once differentiation, since I'm shooting with a 10 year old camera (D3300). Now I want to try this for my video journey. I'm curious to find out if I can achieve this with my lil's Sony A6000. :)
Thanks for watching, Hilgard! I think you will kill it if you have a photography background. And getting a 10bit 4:2:2 camera would definitely help you in Dynamic range
I've watched all of your videos and keep noticing the high shutter speed. Is that for adding emotion in the scenes or to help with post stabilization since you do a lot of handheld? Overall your lighting and composition is aspirational! Can't wait for the next upload.
It’s actually help in post for stabilization and you’re right I’m going handheld 95% of time, but I usually just forget NDs and that’s the honest reason behind high shutter speed
I’m just going to say WoW!!! What a beautiful way of explaining everything, not only you are a great cinematographer but amazing story teller. BRAVO SUBSCRIBING
Man, you always inspire me to beat the procrastination and take my camera to try and try to improve my shots.... Thank you very much !!!! you're amazing man!!

The sound design in this is.. chefs kiss... absolutely top tier.
It’s one of my favorite parts! Thanks for watching bud
I love how meta it is to show shots of her planning a video, when those shots look so good, there was obviously pre-production for them too
there are Inception-like levels to this lol
Haha that’s exactly true!
Thanks for watching Johnathan!
If this guy had a lighting course with everyone of his shot. Man i am buying it no matter what
