My slider is leaking also. 1. The interior push pins are almost impossible to find. Anyone know where these can be had (dealership aside), please let me know. 2. There are differences in the bolt quantity. Make note before ordering a replacement. 3. Start and end the butyl tape at the bottom center of the window.
I think the best thing about my Ranger is the fact that it came with the single piece glass . I've known quite a few other people who had their sliding glass leak , or even have it leak from the corners because the three pieces of glass makes it easier for the whole thing to move around as the body flexes .
The window comes with the black outer seal… but then you need to install the butyl tape that actually provides the seal. I just got it from the auto recycling yard.
Where you buy your butyl tape? I bought some from Home Depot and window is still leaking? But husband failed to tell me about this video till after to heat up in winter . Think I could use a heat gun on outside of window or blow dryer from the inside ?
I switched from the slider to stationary glass today , your right no chance for leaks and I like the look . And also I used the 3/8 by 15ft worked great !
Awesome glad it worked out!! Yeah I’m super happy with that back window… I liked opening that old slider and letting the air in but I’d rather just keep the water on the outside 😄👍

How did you remove the push-pins
I have a push pin tool. It’s like a fork. Check Amazon it’s a real pain if you don’t have the tool! 😬

Yeah for me i think the one piece was best… no chance of any leaks. With the back cap I never really opened it anyway. 👍

Is there a reason you use 5/16 over 1/4?
My store only has 1/4 available
I think 1/4 is too thin... maybe order it off Amazon? That's where I got mine from.
