"Would you have done it? Would you have kept your oath then?"
Last episode (7x4) was mesmerizing, I was on the edge of my seat, I didn't know who to root for, everything was executed brilliantly and it was without any doubt one of the best episodes of GoT I've ever seen. I was overwhelmed by Jaime's story, I think he may be on the road of redemption, but who knows it's GoT. Meanwhile, I made this little edit. Haven't done GoT for a while, so here it is. I hope you'll enjoy it.
There are many more videos coming this month mostly Game of Thrones. for example: Zurik 23M and I also announced a collaboration on a Game of Thrones video, we are really looking forward to it and very hyped about it.
Thank you for everything, you are awesome and, as always, stay awesome.
    - I want to thank these people for their pledges: Oskar Frode, Kira Ernst, Maggie Seider, Carpine Olivier, Kieran Rice, Bethany Vann, Jonathan Kuruc, Flor Tejada, Jack McCann, Georgia Kelly, Henning Just, Andrew Sinnott, Bilaal Afzal, "retonho", Lachie Gordon, Sean Stubblefield, Matt Zweig, Ivan Malov, Christian Mitchell, Kirk Beatson, Maike Waldorf, Michael Robb, Matthew Webb, Joe Lott, Camille Bulaclac, Rachel, Tuck Carrara, Janis Lapels.
You make my life better !

Even cersei is well developed, she's not your average villain with no motives and a cliché backstory, she is portrayed as this selfish monster but she's only the product of the treatment she got growing up and the weight of the prophecy haunting her eversince her childhood. She's not in my top 5 nor is she as well developed as her brothers but at least give her credit.

+Denisa A. Arya isn't that good of a character I think. She is just a girl that wants revenge and somehow became a really good assassin. Ned Stark would be horrified if he saw her now, he wouldn't be proud, the show never highlights this and instead focuses on "woow Arya cool assassin!" Her character arc isn't as complex and interesting as Jaime's for sure.

I think Jaime Lannister may be the only man in all of Westeros' history to actually charge at a dragon, fully knowing what the dragon is capable of.
There were some scattered attempts in Aegon's early conquests and when Drogon appears at the fighting pits of Mereen, one man earned some reknown for confronting him, but not for long. Dany had never really unleashed the dragons. The Mereenese didn't know what they were up against until Drogon attacked the pit and Quentyn set the other two loose by accident.
But Jaime knew. He expected to die. But he did it anyway.

@@Amoth_oth_ras_shash There is actually. Because sansa revealed the truth about johns heritage daenerys felt threatened and rightfully so. She knew if other people found out which they probably would have eventually, then they would most likely choose john as the king, so apart from wanting blood for cersei killing missandei, her dragon, her allies and many more, she wanted to show power to the other lords and make them fear her by doing what she did so that they might not get any ideas with john. Thats why she said fear it is in the room with john episode earlier or somewhere around that time im pretty sure. Also another reason is she was so mad about her friend etc getting killed she took that anger out on people who "supported" cersei by not opening the gates to her. So i wouldnt say she went mad not at all, she had her reasons.

so ...mhe , just smells a bit to much of ''poor ghost writter where given orders to generate x amount of 'shook' or ''surprise' in actions by x characters''
have limited time to do it so looks up generic feudal manners in history and cheeks what the basics of the show characters are..putting long term consistency on the altar where the devils amuses themselfs to leet fat cats in high positions of various ips get exactly the material they ask for at the cost of plotholes that cripples any later effort to salvage it by others :/
but as said.. i have not watched the show since ,well.. just knowing what 'the powers that be' that hade the final say about it where i knew it derail into either plothole nighmares , or charcater drained of depth to the point they become shallow enough one have to press the nose so close to spot any personality you scrape the flesh of your bones in the proces
sooner or later , wich is a shame since a good bit of fantasy is rare , specially considering how the 'hollywood script' saturates and infests so much :/

That one bathtub scene honestly has more development than most other characters whole story arc put together.

This is the first time that someone has witnessed what she is doing and judged her as a brutal murderer. This has nothing to do with my theories or the way I would've liked Jaime's story to end, what they did was a plain and simple character assassination. A man who ruined his entire reputation and honour to save the lives of innocent people, now suddenly doesn't care about them? @@debasishchapeyar4826 Congratulations on including the most overused quote of the series (and incorrectly I might add) while completely missing my point.
Going back to Cersei isn't a redemption arc, it would be a regression arc if anything. And I'm not even talking about that, my previous comment didn't even reference Cersei. I'm only talking about how they changed his character from a man who risked everything to protect innocent people, to a man who doesn't care about those same people and only cares about Cersei. Jaime sacrificing his honour for the greater good was his one redeeming quality when this series began, and they tossed it aside, so that now he's worse than the man he was in season 1. Because despite all the shit he'd done in season 1, we still knew that deep down he was a man with some form of morality and conviction. All that has been thrown out the window.

@@sergeantvedara9165 I know it's a joke but Jaime didn't say that because Lion > Wolf. He said that because both animals are predators; they kill to survive. And yes, it's not honorable to kill your king when you're a kingsguard but rebelling and overthrowing your king is not much honorable too. Especially if you're a Stark. Torrhen Stark submitted to Aegon without a battle when he and his sisters conquered the Westeros. Ever since, Torrhen is known as the King Who Knelt. When he submitted he made the oath for not just between him and Aegon, it was between Targaryen dynasty and Starks, forever. Dany wasn't bullshitting when she said something like " with a Targaryen sitting on the Iron Throne and a Stark serving as Warden of the North."
As honorable and good man Ned Stark is, being righteous prick to Jaime when he saw Jaime killed the King was one of the things what made Jaime is a person who can push a child from the window.

While Jaime is under Dany's watch I don't think he'll be able to see the good in her. He's only seen her father until this point and now that she's displayed her power and gotten in her own head she's gonna seem just as mad as The Mad King was. It's gonna be a vicious cycle. I hope Jaime can get out of this alive.

Or people that like Dany just enjoy her in the books. Her complexity was great up until Martin stopped writing for the show as much. She's had no character growth in two seasons. Very frustrating for us fans of hers.

    • @amanduuuh_7117
      @amanduuuh_7117 7 лет назад +11

Trust me we are tired of the 'Bend the Knee' line over and over again too. I feel like the writers tried to make her one of the black and white characters (ie. Cersei pure evil, Jon pure good) but she is just not. She is unsure, questioning but strong with a want to be good but fighting her own nature and destiny to be bad. It's the internal struggle of her choices and wondering if they are the right ones that makes her interesting. Now she's acting like a queen but not the queen of the people. Just a regular lame queen. I feel like Martin's Dany would feel guilt about the loot train attack and that would gain empathy for her from the people and characters like Jamie. But this one just seems resolute and ignorant. Again, frustrating for those who root for her.

And although he has done some truly gratuitous things I feel he never did it because he was evil. His story is a beautiful game of good vs evil that go's on in us all.
