    "There are no men like me... Only me."
    I come with another Jaime video. I know some of you might say enough is enough, but I haven't made one with the last episode in it, I had to do it some time, plus many of you have requested it. Also, tried very different approach with the video, and I'm afraid of what you might think. Let me know in the comments below.
    What can I add more about the story of Jaime Lannister? In my opinion, he has without any doubt best story line in Game of Thrones. I honestly cannot wait for the final season.
    It has been tough months, thank you for your patience. I'll be back with more videos soon.
    You are awesome and please, stay awesome !
    - I want to thank these people for their pledges: Oskar Frode, Kira Ernst, Maggie Seider, Carpine Olivier, Kieran Rice, Bethany Vann, Jonathan Kuruc, Flor Tejada, Jack McCann, Georgia Kelly, Henning Just, Andrew Sinnott, Bilaal Afzal, "retonho", Lachie Gordon, Sean Stubblefield, Matt Zweig, Ivan Malov, Christian Mitchell, Kirk Beatson, Maike Waldorf, Michael Robb, Matthew Webb, Joe Lott, Camille Bulaclac, Rachel, Tuck Carrara, Robin Robinson, Janis Lapels, Sebastian G, Joseph Wittmann, Luke Ecock.

      I think Jamie idolised Ned for being a great warrior, leader and honorable man. He respected him, he wanted to be like him maybe even better, but Ned didn't like him. He blamed him for killing the king with dishonor. And he was a Lannister after all. Nearly everyone called Jamie a Kingslayer, nearly everyone told him he was a man without honor. But among all those people he was upset for Ned's opinions about him. That's why he mentioned Ned Stark when he was telling his secret to the Brienne.

    I always believed that the reason that ned hated Jamie is because they both wanted to get revenge on Aerys. The main difference is that Jamie robbed Ned's revenge from him, and at the very last moment too.
    I also believe that the reason that Jamie charged at Danaerys with the spear is the mad King. Think about why he killed Aerys: to save people from a mad Targaeryan burning them alive. And what did he see when he first encountered Danaerys: a mad Targaeryan burning his men to ash, bringing a horde of wild savages to ravage his homeland.
    This is what is truly poignant about Jamie: no matter what it costs him, no matter how the world views him, and no matter how much he would hate it, he has always tried to do the right thing and to keep to what he has sworn.
    And that is why he should forever be remembered as the Oathkeeper, and not the kingslayer.

    • @KnightLincoln
      @KnightLincoln 6 лет назад +87

      I know right! The scene of ash-covered battlefield and men turning into dust was brilliantly depicting the very nightmare Jaime once prevented. And when given a chance to charge at Danaerys, history repeated itself - he stayed true to his character. I look forward to see what happens when Jaime shows up to fight on Danaerys' side

    • @Chronos5618
      @Chronos5618 6 лет назад +81

      There are many parallels running through the show and books between Ned and Jamie. By all accounts, when Jamie was young, he looked up to Ned, and the honourable knights of old, and would likely have grown to be a good, honourable man himself if it wasn't for his actions in Roberts Rebellion. Here, he made a choice that he believed to be heroic, and saved 500,000 lives by killing a murderous king. When he met his hero Ned, he naively believed that he would see Jamie's actions as good and honourable. Instead, he found himself being judged so cruelly by a man he respected so much. Instead of being hailed as the hero he so longed to be, he was branded as the opposite, and Ned condemned him to live 17 years with the title "Kingslayer", with all the people he saved, the man he looked up to, and the entire realm believing him to be not just without honour, but a traitor as well- the very opposite of a hero. Being forced to live so long with the knowledge that he would forever be seen as the villain shattered his naive, pure beliefs of honour and heroics, and slowly turned him bitter and cruel as he learned to hate those that mocked him.

    • @salmarwow
      @salmarwow 6 лет назад +23

      Well, in fact there are plenty parallels in the books and the show between Jamie and Jon. They start as complete opposites. One is a member of Kingsguard, an elite group of white-cloaks. Another one is a member of Night's Watch, a group of bastards, murderers, and rapists, wearing black. One is a legal son of mightiest family, an heir to Casterly Rock, another one is a bastard with no rights. Yet through the story we can see many similarities. Jamie goes through his redemption arc, while Jon makes his own mistakes and has to pay for them. At the end we have both them fighting for the living.

    First of all, there is never enough Jaime-centered videos, and especially not yours because every single one is a masterpiece. The parallel between Jaime and Ned was something new and surprising, but overall it was really fitting. I loved how it sometimes seemed that the scenes we saw where coming from Jaime's delirious mind during the Harenhall bath scene, and how the general theme of the video (if I got it right) was that he is, in fact, an honorable man. Amazing!

      ahh yes but see, everything about this incredible video, this is exactly why I'm looking forward to the Bran & Jaime reunion between famous 'character duos' a little bit more so than several others that should happen in season 8. Thanks to the abilities Bran now has, that he only could've ultimately achieved from what Jaime did to him in the first place, Bran can look at the plain, objective truth of that day 17 years ago (or I guess by now it's probably more like at least 25, I'm not sure of an 'official' number of how much time's passed since the pilot). He can see that Jaime killing Aerys was the absolute, right noble thing to do, and he can prove it to everyone else. It looks from the trailer that some will still be doubting Jaime's motives when he shows up in Winterfell, but Bran's a helluva convincer.

    Wow. Honestly I didn't notice some of these parallels between him & Ned. I've always felt like Jamie was badly misunderstood - regarding the Kingslayer thing. He was clearly trying to save the city, but initially people just didn't know that. And he goes on letting them not know, letting them look down on him.
    He has been a horribly flawed character, but he's so complex and definitely has some genuinely honorable traits, in my opinion. :-)
    Great edits & tribute!

    This is SO beautiful. Jaime has one of the most interesting stories and development of any character in my opinion. The parallels between him and Ned, I never even noticed. I think it would be very interesting to see how Jaime reacts to the news that Jon isn't Ned's bastard. I think he'll be resentful towards Ned because of how Ned judged him for breaking his oath, but Ned was harboring a huge secret. Again really did love this,as well as the oathbreaker video.
