I uploaded over 40 versions of this before Warner Brothers released their copyright claim - adding the watermarks killed me and I hate that it had to be this way. But the audio is the same and the uncensored version is on Patreon, so we're going to cross our batfingers and run it. Thank you for watching, I appreciate you!
Always loved that Batman had a dog. It’s an aspect that humanizes him but also just adds to the absurdity of comics whenever you’d see Ace wearing a cowl.
I love this version of Ace, giving him the look of a jackal really fits the aesthetic without looking too goofy, and he humanizes a version of Bruce that is the most cynical and jaded and old.
I'm guessing the reason Bruce told Terry to stop searching was that Bruce knew that it was getting late and that Terry wouldn't be able to search well if he was exhausted.
In 2020 my dog was sick and wasn’t able to eat and I could tell something was wrong and I remember watching this episode with him in my room one day and I cried during the ending where Bruce and ace reuinite because I had a feeling my dog wasn’t gonna make it and after having an ultrasound done we found out that he had cancer and weeks later he had to be put down and I miss him every single day I relate to this episode so much because nitro was my ace and I miss him and his brother turbo everyday 😢🐾
I don't think Bruce was really being mean about Ace out on the street. He always has a deep respect for individuals with inherent strength. He has made that clear in his younger years to both his associates and enemies. Also it's basically a by-product of being an orphan child.
I can see that for sure - there’s a good chance my being mad at Bruce is a knee-jerk reaction from how upset I was the first time I saw this as a kid 😅 Thanks for your perspective! 🤘
@@MTGJoeD Well while Bruce pissed you off as a kid, this episode made me second guess if a buffet I went to after this episode premiered was using Mutant dog slobber as gravy. I'm not joking.
Just rewatched it. Right after telling terry to not look for Ace anymore, Bruce instantly starts wondering why Ace was so hellbent on this man. "What did he do to you boy?" He is very clearly concerned but trusts Aces strenght to get him through the night while dealing with the man he chased. Basically its all but said that this powerhouse of a dog is ready to drop this man on sight. Then he must be dangerous. And as we find out, the man is just evil. Plus he knows Ace can be allright on his own for a bit. And as Terry says, finding Ronnie would lead them to Ace.

Ace in the cowl back in the day was SO COOL to me as a kid and my dog would never let me put one on him 😂

Heck yeah! 🤘This version has always been a favorite of mine
The fun thing is that he's actually based on a Great Dane.

I could see that! It always felt to me like he was more focused on the mission of having Terry catch Boxer
Fun Fact, Bruce named his dog Ace in memory of a girl who died in his arms.
Man, that episode makes me cry every time
The ending of this video with you in a hood is what really deserves all the views... amazingly done video as always!!!
Thanks so much my friend! ♥️
I didn’t even know Batman had a dog! Good stuff!
He’s not in every run, but is pretty awesome when he gets included!
Is also note that since that episode Ace is way more friendly with Terry.
Very true, great point!

I always figured that if Ace could talk, he would've shouted "PAPA!" at the end.
Omg I could totally see that!
I heard a rumor/theory that Ace's name comes from Ace the girl from the original DCAU Royal Flush gang.
I saw a post about that a little after this video came out, and I think that would be SO cool if true! It’s my head canon now at least for sure 🤘
I actually loved this episode and version of Ace he was so cute and so strong
Right? Such a good dog and great addition to the show! 🙂
Man, that end scene was so well done! I wonder who was behind the camera? 🤣
Quite a talented videographer!
:D
