- First roll on an even coat using the sea sponge roller. Wait for the right timing and knock it down with a large plastic knock down blade. Achieve high quality results by following my comprehensive how to video instructions. Please comment on what you would like to see and I will do my best to record it. Here's a link for several sea sponge rollers. www.amazon.com/sea-sponge-rol...

Great Video. You should provide a link to the knockdown tool you use and the sea sponge roller.
What is the roller "name"? I got a sea sponge from Lowe's and it does not apply the mud in the same pattern as the one you used.
Looks like a professional job. Quick question: Did you thin out the drywall mud and how much?
yes I did. This particular demo I think I added 1 quart of water for the whole box. If this is too thick add 8 to 16 ounce at a time til you get your desired consistency. As you can see it rolled on thick. If you are trying to match an existing knockdown texture this could vary. Try a sample on a scrap piece of drywall and compare the 2 together. Thanks for watching
I have watched this video about 10 times. I am trying to get the courage to try this. I think I will try on a piece of scrap fiberboard in my garage. If I can make that work, I will try a bathroom wall where I removed wallpaper. I have already floated and primed the wall to cover up some damage from the wallpaper removal.
What kind of mud? I have my ceilings ready to go but not sure what mud. Fast setting? Medium setting?
I used the red dot from westpac. It's just an all purpose boxed mud. Do not used fast acting muds , have a wonderful day
Where did you get the tool to know it down, please?
Searched for sea sponge roller on amazon and no luck. Where can I buy the roller at? Great video no music no bs simple explanation. Great results
I bought the one I used in this video at the home depo. Not all Homedepos carrys it. However most if not all paint store should carry them. Btw thank you for watching

@@1mandrywallarmytv144 Do you know the name of the roller? I bought one at Lowes and it does not apply the mud the same way as yours.
Is your roller textured and sort of chunky/bumpy, or is it the more smooth type with a bunch of holes?
i believe it is both. bumpy with holes.
@@1mandrywallarmytv144 Provide a link to it please. Thanks
What size knockdown tool is that, please? 24”, 36” ??
I think 24
That 1% when he went right to left.
actually the 1% of the time is regarding going top to bottom not right to left thank you for watch . Please all of my other videos. Have a great weekend sir.
Did you roll on the mud with the sponge roller? Or just run the sponge roller over wet mud you already put down? Thanks!
Did you not see me roll it on.The Video shows me doing it
@@1mandrywallarmytv144 Thanks. I saw you, but the way the video starts it's not totally clear if you had already put down mud. For faux finishes, they paint first and roll the sponge after. Thanks for clearing that up. It looks good. I'll give it a try.
The laugh at 1:50ish makes me think he's seen someone do it before!
that was pure.
Is it called sea sponge roller or something else?
yes! Most paint stores as well as HomeDepots should carry it
How much does the roller cost?
around 12 usd
@@1mandrywallarmytv144 From where. There seems to be people not finding the right roller. A link would be a great help to people who want to repeat the amazing knockdown you achieved with the roller you used.
@@A.C.71 thank you I will update that roller link per your request.
This guy is on some downers or something
hey Luke thank you for watching my video. I just wanted to respond to that comment you made regarding me being on downings, lmbo. Apprently you'd like someone to speak faster? Good luck and thanks for watching
Playback speed 2x
That roller cover looks like a 9 inch lambswool .
A lambs wool would do pretty much the same thing, the one I used was a sea sponge

I've never even seen knockdown until recently moving west. Your videos are no nonsense and to the point.
I only wish I could get a good look at the sponge and what do u use in small spaces for both the texture and knockdown?? I'd like to use the process to fix terrible walls..thx
