@@cn.st.182 The humans aren't challenged at all if the intro is to be believed, this conflict is treated casually and is reportedly the first time ever that human rule was contested in any meaningful way. The elites of society treat it like any other war - as entertainment. There's, so far, been no indication of any meaningful religion, much less extreme and wide-spread zealotry. The only similarity is "big men in big bulky space armor fighting aliens with sleek blue-white designs" which isn't even that uncommon. I mean, if this and WH40K are the same thing, then so is Starcraft, for example, and even if you believe the (false) rumors that Starcraft was "supposed to be a WH40K game", it's still very much it's own thing that merely draws a lot of inspiration from the same sources as WH40K, or use 40K as an inspiration itself. Your ungrounded pessimism is heard, but it is foolhardy. Equating two works merely for similar design choices would invalidate most of the modern gaming and TV industry. There is such a thing as being too pessimistic, and your own claim borders on being contrarian for the sake of merely being contrarian.
Not to mention the shaky hands of the soldier asking for it. A nice attention to detail that maybe these soldiers have become a bit too dependent on their stims/drugs
Love the aesthetic of 40k with the Judge Dredd influences turned further up. Everything looking like it's made of solid steel while still moving that fluidly, this is so cool
The Internet remember you guys. You are so talented, it's just unfair that your previous project for some greedy British toy soldiers company didn't allowed your skill to shine. Hope your solo project would be much more successful and became a new masterpiece of an animation.
I loved it, I hope to see lots more. Are we sure those "toy soldier guys" haven't copyrighted space?? Or armor in space? Or tanks in space? I'm sure they've tried. Are they still trying to sue everything that moves? Not a good way to make friends...or long term customers.
If only people this creative could invent their own property instead of expecting another company to allow them to leech off their property. Stop trying to be edgy for the little man. GW isn't obligated to let people profit off their items. These animators can create ANYTHING, they don't have to pick something owned by someone else already. It's deliberate parasitism.
For everyone confused this used to be Lost Legion Studios (The Exodite animation trailers were here), for whatever reason they have rebranded and made something Warhammer 40K adjacent.
Well, if I am in a war and could go any minute, also high on god knows what they are putting in the combat enhancement drugs they are distributing, or, more realistically, I can get my hands on, it would be a miracle if I could stay sane. One could even argue going insane would increase one's odds of living through it.
Also makes the powered suits feel like actual suits aiding in movement, sometimes excessively like how the dudes hand moved when reaching for the stim.
Also drives home the fact that being in a metal box screaming across a barren planetoid while being shot at by aliens would be a _bit of a bumpy ride._ Of course, that could also be the handy-dandy can o' drugs (combat stims?) they're passing around, too.
I called it. 40k had so many talented fan artists but GW decided to go the way of the dodo. Now a lot of former 40k fan artists are taking a crack at making their own grimdark sci-fi. Let's go!!!!
This is a professional studio that has literally been hired in the past by Games Workshop. Idk how the fuck you think they are some amateur 'fan artists'.
I adore how chunky the computer's feel. Really gives off an Alien vibe which, is fitting since from the little lore we have, Weyland-Yutani would feel right at home in this galaxy.
Yeah, I like the retro computer interface. It's one of my favorite aesthetics. Moreover, it really leans into the idea that it's the technology employed by corporations that are stingy with their funding. The forces in this setting probably _could_ upgrade the user interface of their computers. They choose not to, because that would cost money.
Aside from the obvious inspiration, I love the little bit of lore we’re given. Mega corporations are hardly underrepresented in sci fi but usually the focus is on Earth, the idea of galaxy spanning corporate empires feuding with each other while conquering the universe for profit is such a grimdark concept.
Love how grounded this looks. No heat dispersion, low gravity, juiced up soldiers. Can't wait for more. These guys would also look great as miniatures since they are not decorated like christmas trees😂
(1) guns don't get red hot after 10 rounds regardless of vacuum (2) if there's no atmosphere why are the enemy rounds making sound as they fire and as they zip past?
Love the armor design, feels like a mash up of 40K Space Marines, Fallout Power armor (especially at 3:21 with the ribbed underglove and padding) and roman legionnaire armor. Keen to see how this series progresses!
I'd also like to point out how their armor have spots with exposed mechanical parts like the Fallout power armors, especially in the face, but bear a shape similar to the Astartes. I love the space marines but sometimes their armor is too smooth, especially if you're not an overly decorative chapter. I understand it's because their armor is near flawless (lol) that they have little exposure to mechanical parts but who doesn't like a little more detail in their design?
I'm glad animators that are hit by gw's atrocious ban hammer are now finding ways to resurface and continue doing what they're passionate about, while also giving people quality content. Like sodaz whos currently working on a fall out fan animation.

It’s so good that you didn’t give up and continued working! You have talent, please develop it! And thank you so much for the wonderful job! The main thing is to never give up and always move forward, movement is life! In Russia there is a saying: “Dogs bark but the caravan moves forward”! All the best, live and prosper!
The RUclips algorithm is awful in countless ways, but at least it knows me well enough to have suggested this within an hour of it being posted. Phenomenal work all around, looking forward to the rest of this series now!
This gives off some major 40K vibes. Absolutely Badass. Don't know what this channel was previously, but I definitely subscribed to it for its quality.
One of the small details i like about these guys that distinguish them from Astartes, is how they still show signs of human vices. A space marine would be as still as a statue prior to going into combat, and they dont twitch or make any movement that isnt precise and direct. Here you can see that they're all kinda twitchy and anxious while sharing narcotics(something no astartes would ever bother with), checking their gear, and looking around at each other. That more than anything really sets these guys apart from their Warhammer counterparts.

Honestly it does look very dieselpunk now that I think about it, it's like the old Aliens "analog" aesthetic, mixed with hints of 40k, fallout and ww2 aesthetics
Interesting touch on the barrels. Starts glowing on the first burst, which also completely effs up an entire light AT squad. I also noticed no tracer (unnecessary with scopes & integratedoptics) & minimal delay between burst & detonation, so the projectiles must be moving at extreme velocities, which matches with the behaviour of the gun. A gun that is never fired full-auto, always in bursts akin to the trigger pull of an M4. So these bullets are fast & hefty enough to rupture some kind of high-density energy cells as seen against the AT threat, but are also able to pucture the armored cowling & to damage the structural bracing of a lightly armored air transport with AP or multipurpose solid shot. Yeah, I can totally appreciate why the barrels are *glowing* after one burst in a vacuum. Beautiful attention to detail.
I kinda have a problem with the glowing barrels. You see 40k as grimderp as everyone makes it out to be, bolters use rockets, meaning the barrels themselves are not that important, sure they'll heat up and eventually warp despite how thick they are, but in this universe it would make the barrels extremely unreliable. Bolters would be the Correct thing to do, after all they are 'Space' marines and no one really cares to see past the derp and silliness.
This is like a Warhammer 40k×Armored core VI crossover, even the voice at 2:22 sounds like handler Walter, I'm gonna have plenty of daydreams, thank you for making this amazing work.
I know there is is sort of a legally distinct 40K vibe to get around GW being shitty, but I genuinely love the strangeness of this. Where 40K leans in on World War 1 aesthetics for its environments, weapons, and battles, this has a very distinct cold war era futurism. It's fucking sick and quite original. Respect

That's a nice touch, that the barrel glows red from the first shot. And only glows brighter. In a vacuum, the heat has no way to dissipate except as radiation and light.

Weyland-Yutani, Jin-roh, 40k, this wears its influences on its sleeves unabashedly while still being very much its own thing. I hope this theme continues.
How exactly is this "very much it's own thing"..?
@@cn.st.182ik it’s just a stylized 40k nothing else.

Stop trying to be edgy for the little man. GW isn't obligated to let people profit off their items. These animators can create ANYTHING, they don't have to pick something owned by someone else already. It's deliberate parasitism.
what's the history on the previous protect? and where I can see it
For everyone confused this used to be Lost Legion Studios (The Exodite animation trailers were here), for whatever reason they have rebranded and made something Warhammer 40K adjacent.
thanks GW /s
Rebranded because Games Workshop doesn't know how to work with their own IP in regards to fan creations.
I was wondering why everything had a WH40K look to it. Bruva Alfabusa did the same thing with his Text-To-Speech Device series.
Looks like a mix of 40k and Fallout designwise. So I guess it is legally distinct just enough :D
Fuck games workshop
I love how twitchy some of the troopers like. Gives you a sense of how bloodthirsty and messed up in the head these guys are
Well, if I am in a war and could go any minute, also high on god knows what they are putting in the combat enhancement drugs they are distributing, or, more realistically, I can get my hands on, it would be a miracle if I could stay sane. One could even argue going insane would increase one's odds of living through it.
Also makes the powered suits feel like actual suits aiding in movement, sometimes excessively like how the dudes hand moved when reaching for the stim.
Also drives home the fact that being in a metal box screaming across a barren planetoid while being shot at by aliens would be a _bit of a bumpy ride._
Of course, that could also be the handy-dandy can o' drugs (combat stims?) they're passing around, too.
@@lurky7849ikr? i find very funny, same vibe as the dudes passing around deodorant in the locker rooms 😂
Yeah, combat stims just like the Marines from StarCraft haha.
I called it. 40k had so many talented fan artists but GW decided to go the way of the dodo.
Now a lot of former 40k fan artists are taking a crack at making their own grimdark sci-fi.
Let's go!!!!
You called nothing John snow
This is a professional studio that has literally been hired in the past by Games Workshop. Idk how the fuck you think they are some amateur 'fan artists'.
I adore how chunky the computer's feel. Really gives off an Alien vibe which, is fitting since from the little lore we have, Weyland-Yutani would feel right at home in this galaxy.
70’s-90’s depictions of Sci-Fi tech are some of my favorites.
'Alien vibe', it's a straight up copy lol. I thought I was watching an Alien Isolation gameplay clip for a second.
Alien and fallout is the vibe I was getting. I like it.
@@TuShan18 Oh hey, fellow Salamander
Aside from the obvious inspiration, the armors give me some serious killzone vibe.

Love how grounded this looks. No heat dispersion, low gravity, juiced up soldiers. Can't wait for more. These guys would also look great as miniatures since they are not decorated like christmas trees😂
You’ll like the Iron Warriors then with how simple they are in design

@@nexusthenormie5578 Yeah pretty much spot on.
The high velocity makes sense too; they're in a vacuum on a moon with no atmosphere.
"Sir Issac Newton is the nastiest son of a bitch in space"
I kinda have a problem with the glowing barrels. You see 40k as grimderp as everyone makes it out to be, bolters use rockets, meaning the barrels themselves are not that important, sure they'll heat up and eventually warp despite how thick they are, but in this universe it would make the barrels extremely unreliable. Bolters would be the Correct thing to do, after all they are 'Space' marines and no one really cares to see past the derp and silliness.

Respect
