@@Poweroftouch You are right. Dr Jason Fung (an expert of intermittent fasting & diabetes consultant) actually said: “When you break your fast, eat normally, as if you hadn’t fasted.” He also advocated that it’s not just when to eat but also what you eat so he recommends: eating low carb, as much greens as you like, protein and as much whole foods as possible without any added sugar and also to avoid highly processed foods. I am not overweight at all so I fast for health and energy at my old age but even if I were young, I certainly wouldn’t want to be slim & unhealthy!

I did IF for quite a while and ate whatever I wanted to (ie. Pizza, cheeseburgers, cookies, etc.) and it was able to get me down to 192 lbs. - with 2 meals in a 4-hour window. But my goal was 180 lbs. as I am 6 ft. tall. So, I eventually did OMAD and that got me to 179 this past week - the lowest in 20 years! So, yeah, IF evolving into OMAD for the Win!👍 Life Changing habit for me - I am grateful for it.
@@alinap.7298 I have been doing OMAD for 30 weeks now so I am still doing it on a daily basis. That said, I don't do perfect OMAD. I cheat and drink Vietnamese coffees/Ice Mocha coffees for about 10-12 hours out of the day (I'm addicted, and have 2 - 3 a day, LOL). There is a lot of sugar in these drinks and if I cut them out and really did OMAD 100% I'd probably be down another 10 pounds to 170 - which is something I am interested in doing in the future. It took me about 20 weeks on 'partial OMAD' (we'll call it, with 12 hours of sugary Ice coffees) to go from 192 to 180. I started at 226 lbs. about 6.5 years ago and IF helped me get to 192 on 4 separate occasions in that time - but, I always failed and reverted back to worse eating times and would balloon back over 205 to 215... So, 192 was my Achilles heel and I started to really doubt if I would ever get below it. Then 6 months ago I hit 192 again but this time I transitioned to OMAD and BOOM... the last 12 pounds FINALLY came off over the coming weeks regardless of what I ate and even with me having sugary drinks 10-12 hours per day. Yes, it took 20 weeks of being on Partial OMAD to lose the final 12 pounds and get to 180 - but if I wasn't drinking the sugary ice coffees all day - I'd probably have hit 180 in 5 weeks or so... the sugary drinks make me happy so I continue with the habit but it definitely slows my OMAD progress down. That is OK with me as I am willing to obtain slow improvements - so long as I get there. Thanks and Good Luck!😃
I recently switched to doing OMAD , now on day 5 and I am already feeling more amazing than before ! I was doing intermittent fasting all along before I switched to OMAD, now that I have done the switch , I am never going back ! I am 6 feet tall, 170 pounds. I have been at 170 for years and years when I was doing intermittent fasting so I am not doing OMAD to lose weight but for other reasons. One is to be healthier , there is a phenomenon called atophagy in which your body re-cycles some old dead cells inside the body that could otherwise turn toxic later .. This usually starts to occur within 16 hours of no eating , so doing a 23 hour fast is definitely a great way to trigger autophagy in your body. Second is OMAD slows down aging and initiates growth hormone. Your body is an amazing machine that could adopt to anything so when you start eating once a day you give all of your organs a lot of time to rest and re-generate cells without constantly being busy digesting the foods that you shove down your throat every 4-5 hours in a day.. Third , you have more time during the day as you don't have to sit down and eat 2-3 meals a day . Fourth , not constantly worrying about what to eat for breakfast , lunch and dinner, that frees up a lot of brain space that you could use for more productive thoughts and plans.. Fifth, OMAD ensures a minimalistic life-style so your life actually becomes easier . Sixth, your mental clarity and focus improves dramatically when you do OMAD , and your emotions are much more stable throughout the day than before.. This was the most amazing factor that surprised me ! I knew that my mental clarity and my ability to focus would improve but I never thought that my mood would become more stable. Lastly, doing OMAD saves you money too : ) 😊 To cut a long story short, OMAD is really a life-changing experience , once fully adopted and implemented it could enrich your life in ways not imagined before. You will be less impulsive, more calm, much more focused, more stable, healthier, younger, end up with a better skin and happier. Here is a couple of things to consider to get the best out of OMAD : First is that there is a misconception that now that you get to eat once a day you could get away with eating junk and not so healthy food.. It is true that you would be losing weight if you ate once a day even if you ate junk food but poor diet is a poor diet no matter what, so avoid falling into this trap . Second, deciding what time of the day you will sit down with your only meal is also important. Our body operates within its own circadian rhythm , eating at noon is not the same thing eating at 8 pm even though you eat the exact same type of food, so the most ideal time for OMAD is sometime between 1 pm and 4 pm .. If you are able to eat your only meal between these times it would be the best for you.. Lastly, some people get the drinking part wrong . Coffee , black and green tea and sparkling water ( plain, not flavored ) is perfectly okay but avoid any fruit juice, Redbull or sodas at all cost.. For those who have been thinking about doing OMAD, my suggestion would be instead of going cold turkey and start doing it right away, start doing intermittent fasting first, try two meals a day with 12-12 IF ( Intermittent Fasting ) then move onto 14-10 then to 16-8 then start switching to OMAD.. Cheers ! 😊😊

@@lagoaneguinho6040 I am thinking that her skin is dragging on the floor because if you notice she didn’t answer you. She doesn’t want to talk about that. Lololololol
@@lagoaneguinho6040 I seriously doubt it. When you lose weight on omad, your body is getting into autophagy every day (self eating) where your body recycled old and junky cells out.
Also try to occupy yourself with things you do that you don't do while eatting. Like me, if I am on the computer or watching RUclips videos, I tend to need ( or think I need) a snack food. I am going to try staying in my craft room or sewing room, where I don't allow food or drink. I hope that works for me.
I did IF for 2 year and only lost 25 lbs. Two weeks ago I Started OMAD where I eat what I want in an hour, I decided to only weigh myself on the 1st of each month so I don't know what I've lost and I'm less likely to cheat.
I know I’m replying a month later, but I’m in shocked that you only lost 25 pounds in 2 years!! Something had to have been wrong chemically in your body(need to do blood work) or you are doing something drastically wrong. I lost 50 pounds & every person I’ve ever met in months, just doing it. The key was eating correctly during your eating period, healthy protein & vegetables. Some folks can eat starches, junk food, etc, but most of us have to eat healthy during our Feasting Period to lose weight. Also, if you aren’t fasting at least 19 hours to get into Autophagy (google it) for a full fat burning state, you aren’t going to get great benefits. Try to do OMAD occasionally
I recently saw an video where it was mentioned that there was a woman who is now 100+ and has been eating OMAD since age 21. She claims this is the secret to her longevity.
Came to RUclips looking for motivation to start all over again. You popped up and I got sucked in because I saw the icons behind you! Read your bio and it is so similar to me. Thanks be to God for a new plan for this year. I can do this. Christ is Baptized! In the Jordan!
Type 2 diabetic so OMAD and KETO here-so I get no luxury eating choices. Each day, I do veggie soup, a big salad, a palm-full of fatty meat/fish, nutritional yeast, Moringa powder, and high-fat cheese. Thankfully, I lost 15 kg in 3 months at a rate of about 100-200 grams per day. The belly bulge is flattening, and today I can't eat half the amount I used to. The goal is insulin and blood sugar. The side effect is weight loss and well-being. Alhumdulileh!
@@Apprendre_les_langues7 Yes, Avisha Thank you. A1C test results were an alarming 9.7 - high level diabetes. After a 7 month retest, it crashed to 5.7 which, I believe is at the highest end of the normal range. Now at 10 months, I'm still on an OMAD regime, so will go test again quite soon. Interestingly, I stopped losing weight though I exercise each day, perhaps because I am eating high fat and 100% KETO.
I am so inspired. I have started OMAD today. I have been doing Intermittent fasting since 1 and a half years now. I am 22 kgs less. I need to lose 10 more kgs and lately, my weight has become stagnant. Thanks for your reply.
Hi! I have fibromyalgia and I notice that when I do OMAD i feel less pain or no pain at all. I feel lighter and my brain is clearer as long as I have dark coffee (no sugar) and lots of water beside me.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I want to try it and I am looking through experiences from other people. Yesterday I learnt that malic acid, which is also in apple cider vinegar, helps with fibromyalgia. 1 to 2 tablespoons in water before your meal. Maybe this can extra help you.
Lol...I knew you were Catholic from the background pics...I am as well! Just starting OMAD and will keep you posted...I love it so far. Thanks for the St.Benedict reference as well. CHEERS!!!
I could probably do OMAD if I had coffee with cream. Coffee with a fair amount of cream is supremely satisfying. I’m going to try that!! I’m doing 2MAD now at 12 and 6 and my weight loss is kinda stalled. I could add cream for a lunch coffee and still keep my fasting window. I always get something out of your videos.
A lot of people are doing bullet coffee. It is butter and some kind of oil. I would try the cream in the coffee with the OMAD. Prolong the cream as long as you can.
I think you are right, I started OMAD plus ACV with water every day in the morning, I Also cut Carbs Sugar and Alcohol. it worked. I did this for about 4 months, I lost about 30 lbs. You are on a good path eating what you want in your eating window, I think this is the way to go long term. But I now feel I can live with less Sugar and Alcohol in my life.
Thank you, I have been doing 16/8 for a while lost some weight and stagnated Now I am trying OMAD, but am skeptical about eating whatever I want and like because I am 60 I will keep it to 900 calories to 1000 on each meal I want to at least 10 10lbs in 6 weeks I walk daily for 2 hours I pray it works
sorry... when you say "I want to at least 10 10lbs in 6 weeks I walk daily for 2 hours.." you mean you want to lose 10 lbs, or more than that? Hope it is working for you.
I have one full meal in the morning. Then, until the next day, some tea, some chia seeds, some chlorella & spirulina, and a teaspoon of unfortified nutritional yeast for the B vitamins in the early evening will do it in my case until the next morning,
Hi! Your podcast, book, and RUclips videos are so inspiring. I have the same amount of weight to lose that you lost, and I am the same height! What I don’t have yet is your success. I am struggling to not eat during my fasting window. Especially if I wake up in the early morning. Trying to remember that it didn’t come totally easily to you either. Please keep up the inspiration! And thanks so much.
You can do it! Intermittent fasting is a practice. Just keep working at it and be patient with yourself. If you need to make your fasting window shorter for a while, do that. Work on consistency. (:
Yes thats what I do...im staying on minimum 16 hours per day fasting, plus 2 meal a day...somtimes whe n i feel like it i push it up to 20 hours...but always 16 hours minimum...The rest fasting is extra pushes sometime spontaneous..but yes consistent fasting is key...also losing weight consistent that way...its like brushing teeth...2 times a day...consistent is key...
great tips and very true! i don’t like eating very much and fund it a nuisance do just making one meal and eating whatever i want is great ❤ no more low blood sugar and lost the midlife weight gain when nothing else worked. I have two cups of coffee in the morning with creamer too and my one meal usually around 4 or 5 pm:)
Drinks will not take you out of a fasted state wrong, i went from 395 to 150 with this method lies all lies , Depends on what you drink check ✔️ your glucose. Great video❤
I can't eat enough during this hour as I feel so full. But I know I need enough to make it to the next meal. Any advice? Maybe I should eat twice in a 2 hour period..
Eat whatever you like! That's right. At 2:00 pm, I am wondering a giant sub (1,750 calories) from Jersey Mike's. It's going down. I haven't eaten since 2:00 pm yesterday. I love this way of eating.
Just remember that putting nutrient dense food into your body will produce a nutrient dense person. Putting junk in your body will produce some junkie health. You get the drift.
Thank you for this video. I have found that when I eat a full carb heavy meal it is harder to fast. When I eat a meal with a lot of protein and fat…much easier. Probably why I like Intermittent fasting with keto meals. I am never hungry. They go together well.
i find it easier to stick to a calorie count with omad. I eat 2000-2200 calories a day and omad also makes it easier for me to eat healthier too. There is something to say about "time under pressure" in working out but for eating "time under consumption" like a half a cup of oatmeal vs 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, the peanut butter probably yields better nutrition but having more volume and time to eat that half a bowl of oatmeal makes the brain feel as if it has eaten. I have for over a year eaten 2 meals a day-one when i wake 1 before bed and i did ok but sometimes the amount at supper would just be too low for me. So the Omad is perfect for me for that. i take a multivitamin in the morning, fish oil. I love eggs beans and sweet potatoes on this diet and spoons of peanut butter.
THANK YOU! Im not even close to overweight I just wanted to add in fasting to drop stubborn winter belly fat and to save time/money. But if im working all day on one meal it better be a good one, something I can enjoy and look forward to... and not just beef with butter lol 😏
Can you still lose weight if you can't exercise because of a bad knee? How about adding regular sweets to the one hour OMAD meal? Will there still be weight loss?
What I discovered and really surprised me from a Muslim friend of mine is that their fasting in the month of Ramadan is the closest to intermittent fasting. What is really strange is that their Messenger told them to fast and you will be healthy. This was 1500 years ago! How is this?
And The Bible teaches about fasting and it's benefits and it was first mentioned in conjunction with Moses who lived around 1500 BC. So I think maybe they got it from The Bible. Our family also fasts as Orthodox Christians have been fasting for millennia. - J.R.
@@SixMilesToSupper I know my friend that Christianity has fasting, but your fasting is not at all similar to intermittent fasting because you eat throughout the day. However, the fasting of Muslims amazed me because they completely abstain from eating and drinking for 16 hours a day during the month of Ramadan, which is exactly the same as intermittent fasting, which science has discovered to be healthy. Also, their prophet used to fast this fast two days a week throughout the year, and he also advised them to fast these two days! I hope you understand. Thank you.
you should try Zevia--0 calories, sweetened with stevia--and it doesn't raise insulin so it's safe for a fast/OMAD. I enjoy one (cola) during my eating window
You are sweet and have a super likeable charm. Thanks for the video. I just started OMAD 3 weeks ago and feeling greaaat already , I have weight to lose, still. But it has cured my metabolic syndrome basically within 10 days. Clarity of my mind - feels so good, and I am not even hungry anymore. I will need a few months before I get to my ideal weight. This is it for me, after years of YO-YO diets, I feel I have the answer this time. Dieting never felt this good. Thank you again.
I've started doing OMAD, eating during a 2 hr window; I'm not doing it to lose weight though, although I may have visceral fat .. I feel hungry now .. will see how i go.
Thank you. We are doing a 21 day fast at much church and I’ve chosen to to OMAD. It’s day 5 and I’m struggling! I’m already kinda skinny tho at 170lbs 6’ tall male.
I had a very similar experience! I did 28 days straight, and by week 2 I was on the struggle bus and craving everything! What helped me to push through was eating more meat at dinner before even thinking about the carbs...the added fat and protein helped to alleviate the hunger the next day and get me through to the next dinner!
Did you know that caffeine is an appetite suppressant. Caffeine stimulates the adrenal glands hence the feelings of alertness) and is very hard on the kidneys. Perhaps cut back on or eliminate caffeinated drinks.
In my experience, some saltines or a small bread bun once or twice a month with midol as needed will not affect a long term diet whatsoever - especially if you work really hard not to let it bother you or fall into more bad eating because you “already messed up.” Same with nyquill
How about vitamins, should I take pills? I find it really hard to eat everything or rather (the healthy amount) in just that one hour window. IF is too much bother and too much thinking of multiple meals and their timing window closing in, that's why I wanna opt for OMAD. One meal, one set time, no thoughts of food until the next day.

I stop soda completely since last year but it’s so hard with ice tea and tea in general. It taste completely different, it’s like i have no pleasure in drinking it without sugar.😢 I tried artificial sweeteners but not the same.
Great Advice.. Fasting can help create a calorie deficit, but if you consume more calories than you burn during your eating window, you may not lose weight. To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit, meaning you burn more calories than you consume.

Not true, skin usually doesn’t sag because of taffy takes care of the excess
Taffy?

I am losing weight!!! I am so excited. From 285 to 271!!!!
That is awesome! Way to go!!
Yes. The key is listen to your body. I have coffee in morning. Then water lemon until dinner. Then eat healthy. It is 100% mental.
Also try to occupy yourself with things you do that you don't do while eatting. Like me, if I am on the computer or watching RUclips videos, I tend to need ( or think I need) a snack food. I am going to try staying in my craft room or sewing room, where I don't allow food or drink. I hope that works for me.
Really great tip.
Cynthia Tucker hows it going?
Yes and now??
I love the icons on the wall behind you, eye and heart catching, ❤️❤️ absolutely beautiful. I'm an Orthodox Christian too
I recently saw an video where it was mentioned that there was a woman who is now 100+ and has been eating OMAD since age 21.
Hello, how is your blood sugar level? Has it been normal since you started OMAD?
@@Apprendre_les_langues7 Yes, Avisha Thank you. A1C test results were an alarming 9.7 - high level diabetes.
After a 7 month retest, it crashed to 5.7 which, I believe is at the highest end of the normal range.
Now at 10 months, I'm still on an OMAD regime, so will go test again quite soon.
Interestingly, I stopped losing weight though I exercise each day,
perhaps because I am eating high fat and 100% KETO.
I am so inspired. I have started OMAD today. I have been doing Intermittent fasting since 1 and a half years now. I am 22 kgs less. I need to lose 10 more kgs and lately, my weight has become stagnant.
Thanks for your reply.
@@Apprendre_les_langues7 how is your result?
Hi! I have fibromyalgia and I notice that when I do OMAD i feel less pain or no pain at all. I feel lighter and my brain is clearer as long as I have dark coffee (no sugar) and lots of water beside me.
That’s awesome. Nearly all our problems and pain are from inflammation. And OMAD is great for reducing inflammation 🌸💕👌🏼
Hi, thanks for your comment. I want to try it and I am looking through experiences from other people. Yesterday I learnt that malic acid, which is also in apple cider vinegar, helps with fibromyalgia. 1 to 2 tablespoons in water before your meal. Maybe this can extra help you.
Amazing! So happy for you!
St. Benedict, ora pro nobis! Thank you for this video and all your awsome and inspiring videos! And I love your icons behind you! Ave Maria!
Lol...I knew you were Catholic from the background pics...I am as well! Just starting OMAD and will keep you posted...I love it so far. Thanks for the St.Benedict reference as well. CHEERS!!!
Two meals per day, within an 8 hour feeding time frame also works very well.
I do coffee and whipping cream...I think it tastes better than half and half, too.
A lot of people are doing bullet coffee. It is butter and some kind of oil. I would try the cream in the coffee with the OMAD. Prolong the cream as long as you can.
Thai so what I do. I drink my coffee with half and half and then I eat my one meal between 2-4. Works great. Without the coffee, I can’t do it.
Yes it will stall is your eating too much at those sittings as well unless its too small meals.
@@eckankar7756 coffee and whipping cream is great. I'm lactose intolerant, otherwise I would keep doing that.
Thank you, I have been doing 16/8 for a while lost some weight and stagnated
Now I am trying OMAD, but am skeptical about eating whatever I want and like because I am 60
I will keep it to 900 calories to 1000 on each meal
I want to at least 10 10lbs in 6 weeks I walk daily for 2 hours
I pray it works
Eat meat with fat. Fills you for longer. Protein helps the muscles. Take electrolytes!
sorry... when you say "I want to at least 10 10lbs in 6 weeks I walk daily for 2 hours.." you mean you want to lose 10 lbs, or more than that? Hope it is working for you.
@@edwardsmith7396 I actually need to loose 40 lbs +-20kg

Excellent info+tips Love your website keep up the great work
I have one full meal in the morning. Then, until the next day, some tea, some chia seeds, some chlorella & spirulina, and a teaspoon of unfortified nutritional yeast for the B vitamins in the early evening will do it in my case until the next morning,
Am also having one full meal in the morning
Just found your channel! Love all your icons in the back! We’re Catholic and were in Florida too!!

@@samuelmintah-darko762 hello there!!
Super helpful tips! Thank you Kayla! 😊
My favorite tip is #2:
Eat what you like
I am on day six of omad. I feel better and think better.
Good advices. I like your energy, thanks!
great tips and very true! i don’t like eating very much and fund it a nuisance do just making one meal and eating whatever i want is great ❤ no more low blood sugar and lost the midlife weight gain when nothing else worked.
What drinks did you take?
Which drinks did you consume during your fast? How long did it take to reach 150 pounds?
LOVE THESE TIPS! Just in time for summer and keeping on track when schools out! 💜💜💜

THanks Kayla you are so inspiring! I really love your videos!
I drink black tea 04 cups a day
Dinner from 7 pm to 8 pm . ❤❤
Iced lemon water really helps me.
Great tea , or rooi bossie tea , I make 2 lt with lemon keep it cold and drink it true the day.
I do Omad but mine is usually 20/4 one meal and drinks like coffee with creamer during my window it works for me.. I eat what I want for my meal.
Please tell us how that is working for you
Hi ,I’ve been following your RUclips for a few months and thank you but just a doubt what about alcohol when can we have it.

How does Half and Half not break your fast? Explain me that. It has calories including milk sugars.
exactly
I did check the Rule of St. Benedict. Thank you for that. I am a Franciscan. As you may know, cooking and eating are BIG for Franciscans. Lol.
Stay hydrated!! That's it 👌🏾
WOW I love these tips!
Great tips, thanks!
@@SixMilesToSupper
I know my friend that Christianity has fasting, but your fasting is not at all similar to intermittent fasting because you eat throughout the day. Thank you.
Omg, that tip #2 eat what you want, all kinds of light bulbs went off and i even felt full, 😊 👌👌👌 will try that, thx 🐈⬛
0:31 what to do if one is scared of the bubbles?
I've gotten my body so used to omad that now I can't even finish the one meal I sit down to eat. I become full so quickly, is this typical?
Same!!
Is spenda allowed in coffee and teas ? What about milk half and half and creamer???
you should try Zevia--0 calories, sweetened with stevia--and it doesn't raise insulin so it's safe for a fast/OMAD. I enjoy one (cola) during my eating window
Love your icon corner!
Thanks! We do too! - J.R.
Great piece.. nice tips. ✨
I have to have these drinks too but I still maintain my weight even with these drinks.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been struggling to stay full. So much so that it has been turning into 2MAD. Ugh
Thank you for sharing
Nice new look, Kayla!
Thank you for the tips. What time of day did you eat?
Nice tips thank you. ❤
What happens if you hit a plateau ? The weight just seems to stall ?
Did you know that caffeine is an appetite suppressant. Caffeine stimulates the adrenal glands hence the feelings of alertness) and is very hard on the kidneys. Perhaps cut back on or eliminate caffeinated drinks.
What do you do on that time on the month and you need to take pain relief with food? Or do you try and not take any pain relief.
In my experience, some saltines or a small bread bun once or twice a month with midol as needed will not affect a long term diet whatsoever - especially if you work really hard not to let it bother you or fall into more bad eating because you “already messed up.” Same with nyquill
I do this as well and I will have 2 coffees a day and I eat 1 meal but it's what I like!
Hi I'm diabetes so what do you suggest about not eating carbs thanks
Can i do this but in the morning drink water with lemon and chia seeds?
When you eat in Omad .. do you eat in hour window ? Can you please share
So OMAD is 23h fasting and 1 hour eating right? Because i usually doin 24h fasting then eat about 2-3h eating window then 24h fasting again
All of those options can be OMAD. It means “one meal a day” Not “one certain time frame per day”.

Great Advice.. Fasting can help create a calorie deficit, but if you consume more calories than you burn during your eating window, you may not lose weight. To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit, meaning you burn more calories than you consume.
