But your revewing 3 is the best evision of this map that I have ever seen. Buy the way, you made the plans of the map? they are very clear
I really do like your last 2 redesigns of Mahi-Mahi Resort, though it does make me wonder on how Hammerhead Bridge would look? Using the same prosses that you did. Making multiple variations back to how to the original map looked in Splatoon 1.
Despite Mahi-Mahi being very different from its original stage, it still retains the basic skeleton of it. Hammerhead on the other hand was completely changed down to the last pixel, so it would be really difficult to gradually morph back to the original. If I was in charge I'd just completely delete what we have and restart from scratch lol.
I think hammer head was fine in splatoon 1. we just needed to yeet the bridge a little in rain maker so that it was not a free win from rainmaker pickup to rainmaker delivery.
@@thebipedalsquid True. That does make me wonder what you would do to improve the newer stages? Some of them are fine, but stuff like Scorch gorge and Undertow spillway really feel like they could've used an extra revision similar to Mahi Mahi now.
@@rbpgamemaster Undertow I feel is a perfect map if the sides were open to flank. Scorch Gorge I feel just needs the lower areas to be much larger and less "choke pointy". Also in Splat zones there should be two zones instead of it surrounding the tower.
Revision 2 and 3 genuinely look incredible I hope Nintendo at least springs for something like revision 2. It'd be so cool to play on a modern version of Mahi especially with the new S3 weapons and mechanics 🙏🙏🙏

It's so funny that you actually predict it right that they deleted all those additional routes on Flounders lmao (maybe they kept left route but it's still heavily modified)
> Only made 2 main Splatoon 3 videos > Both are insanely good and well made bringing great ideas to the table Yep, you've 100% earned my subscription, I think you deserve this one!
I still hope that Stages are getting redesigned after they got destroyed during Big Run. Mahi would make sense for Big Run, because its already above Water.
Honestly i'm worried that Big run and Tricolor are the reason why stages are designed the way theyre designed, in trying to get them to work in all modes, they ended up designing all of them around a very simple central area.
I think Nintendo needs to hit that middle ground between too open maps (s1 flounder heights) and too small and enclosed maps (s3 mahi mahi), and I see them doing that. Since it's a 4v4 game, too much choice can ruin the coordination of the team, but too little choice just makes the map boring and bland. Mahi mahi is definitely the latter one
0:33 I used to make maps/stages for csgo and watched community map makers on how they did the maps, and I can say that theres no good or bad way to make a map, theres not like a set of instructions. Most of the time is just trial and error so saying that u are not an expert its not necessary, with the time you just get a feeling of how to do it. What im trying to say is theres no "expert map creators", its just "experienced map creators".
Nintendo can take time to fix this by making deep cut make a report on mahi-mahi being temporarily closed because it got destroyed or vandalized or something
Looking back on this video with the recent changes, it seems that they took the route for revision #1. Although certain things were left behind, such as the one flank routes that make you jump over water (probably to help chargers out maybe). Also for the rainmaker , they didn't put the rainmaker tower on the "island" area; probably to help with making quick getaways so that the path of the carrier wouldn't be so easy to regroup and counter (this change adds to the fun). Although they did create an area that was exclusive to the spawn area and added the second floatie, which is a good aspect from revision #2 and #3.
i have also been thinking about how mahi mahi's design could be changed and i really like your revisions, especially #3! as you mentioned that revision has all the islands from the original, but what's interesting is that Splatoon 3's take on the stage still impacts it, like the direct path into enemy territory from mid which, in Splatoon 1, only really existed as a rainmaker ramp post-water drop (among other aspects). it would be funny if mahi wasn't changed though lol
During the Splatfest I played a lot on this stage and won almost al the times Some times me and my team would just easily do a nasty spawn camping on the other team That made me understand the flaws of this stage, is really easy to make it unfair to the others
another problem with mahi atm is that the spawn areas are too big, and allow for too much spawn camping to too many corners for enemies to camp in, in your spawn
I don’t expect them to put much effort into reworking old stages they’ve already reworked. I’d be happy enough if they just ported the originals stages straight from the first game
Considering how everyone complained about 3-color turf to the point that even Nintendo said "Yes, we gonna have go do some change", maybe if we get more people to complain about these stages, Nintendo would be willing to change them But, IDK if there's that much people out there complaining about the stages, in my case I didn't even think they were bad because I never played 1 and I found funny to do some spawn camping easily, but now after seeing this part of the fandom I can see the flaws (Tho I still don't get why everyone hates Wahoo World, I always found that stage alright, if so, even better designed that Splat 3 Mahi Mahi)
I also don't see why everyone hates Wahoo World. To me, it's alright but nothing special (even in Splatoon 2) and the center rotating platform is just another twist on Museum D'alfonsino rotating platforms gimmick. Yet everyone loves Museum D'alfonsino for it. I honestly hate Sturgeon Shipyard the most since it's so easy for one team to block off and camp the other team once they capture the middle bridge area. I'd trade Sturgeon Shipyard for something like Manta Marina ship map.
I hope they add a stage builder and hosting your own server like tf2, but we all know there's no way Nintendo would give us that much code, so maybe just allowing you to use your switch as a server would be nice.

Coming back now, its wild how you managed to perfectly predict exactly how disappointing Nintendo's remake would be with Rev. 1, outside of a few minor differences (Such as a possible extra island, a plus in my eyes) the official remake is exactly on model for the "Disappointing but acceptable" category. Hopefully the rest will only get better as the remakes go along, and we get a competent map team for S4 that can redo the least likely to change maps original to S3.
