Kinda weird that so many criticisms were centered around stingray spam or lack of checkpoints for the maps when those wouldn’t be an issue if they returned in s3
Ngl I personally feel like Goby and shellendorf are the most likely to return as they fit splatoon 3's map design. Like goby has the left spawn drop and rail close to mid, while the right side is a straight vertical line which ends up in mid. Shellendorf is the opposite with the left spawn side being a long vertical line into mid while the right is a drop at the entrance to mid. I GENUINELY don't think any of the splatoon 1 maps that were brought into splatoon 2 will be brought back cause they can't be unfair and bring stuff like moray/arrowana etc for a third time while maps like bluefin haven't even had a second appearance.
You know the sad part about all these stages? They’re all better than most splatoon 3 stages. And they were more fun than splatoon 3 original stages and the majority of the revamped splatoon 1 stages (Mahi and hammerhead)
Splatoon 3 Stages are a trainwreck and one of the main reasons why the game isn't fun to me while the other 2 games were. I'm very unhappy with the direction the series is going to in general.
@@squidkid419 Too true. It has come to the point where I really don't want to play any of the S3 maps at all because they are not fun to me. As it has been said in the video, they tend to mostly fall in the same fundamental layout and they don't make use of any of the games' mechanics at all. That being said, they also feel like they are way too small while being too open simultanously which makes them feel too restrictive and too unrestrictive at the same time, if that makes sense. Like you can't strategize (according to the map) at all because we've gotten to the point that shooting at everything that moves has become the sole way of winning. It's the worst at Mahi-Mahi where they literally open the spawn area when the battle is over. Or at Scorch Gorge where the only way out of the spawn area is going right into the center of the map. Or at Undertow where the only real side flank (the elevated platform) can not only be easily reached by a player on the other platform, but also has the player easily getting attacked from behind due to the massive blind spots where he can't see or hit the enemies. Map Design is certainly not the only issue, I'm not going to lie, the balancing, for example, is still a trainwreck to the point where even generally good weapons become unuseable due to the horrendous set designs and the overall uncompensable weakness of certain specials where their usage becomes more of a sabotage than help (Ink Vac), but I'm gonna be honest: If they released a patch that deleted every single original Splatoon 3 stage I'd be much more tolerant of that. As of now, I have next to no fun with the game and my frustration with it has reached the point where I'm honestly thinking of selling it, because what in JYP's Fish Tank is Nintendo doing here?!
I think every map should return to Splatoon 3. Because at the end of the day, each map is someone’s favorite and we’d get so much more map design variety than just Tetris pieces. Saltspray Rig? Bring it back! It was casual newbie fun back in the day! Kelp Dome? Same thing! Moray Towers? The new squid surge mechanic is literally perfect for that map! I just want the old map designs back because I don’t want to get infinitely spawn camped on these Tetris maps any more… I’ll probably still get spawn camped but at least it’ll be on the good ol reliable stages.
I think a lot of y’all’s problems seem to come from how busted Stingray was. I think the game design is a little bit healthier at the moment, I’d like to see Kelp some and maybe goby
I actually really liked playing moray towers in splatoon 2. I played vanilla Octobrush and the sides of mid and that route where you could climb up a wall to flank the opponents high ground were so fun to hide behind and use for flanks and cover. It allowed my movement on Octobrush to be super difficult to deal with and made it so much fun. Inkjet was also super fun on this stage because of the flank routes and elevations giving inkjet a lot of advantages. I find it funny that the super high slopes were supposed to be the main gimmick of this stage but the middle was the part that made it so special for brush players like me.
I really want more Unique stages from splatoon 2 back. I nearly enjoyed every stage from splatoon 2 but in splatoon 3 every stage is so similar to each other 😢

I may be weird for this but i kinda love tower trigger fish. It's a constant up hill battle just to exist on tower and i just have a fun time operating around those constraints.
And I also feel like Kelp Dome just needs a bunch of small changes to the objectives themselves, maybe make it a two zone stage, or alter the block in the center to surround a zone rather than sit inside.
