    Just ordered the R50, and I think the first accessory will be the wrist strap. Got a good deal with the kit, spare battery, 50mm lens, and a nice voucher. AND all my R5 lenses will fit it if I want.

    Great video with some nice accessory suggestions. I bought an R50 today from JB HiFi to replace my old D3300 I've been using for photography for years. I also have an AX53 Camcorder which has been my go to video camera for a couple of years. Now I have one good camera to do both & I'm gunna sell the other two. I've got the Rode Video Micro & a few different Lav Mics plus a wireless mic set which is great so I don't have to bother with a separate audio recorder for longer distances from the camera, although I'll be more wary of someone doing a snatch & grab on my shiny new R50 now to walk too far from it. I really like that Manfrotto Mini Tripod as I've got a long arse Manfrotto telescopic monopod/selfie stick but I want a small tripod that can double as a camera grip too. Seems the more accessories I buy the more I want. I've waffled on too much.... G'day from Tassie, kind regards, Tony

    I'd just replace the Canon RF-S 18-45 with the more versatile RF-S 18-150. And please note that your 35mm and the 50mm must be multiplied by also 1.6 Crop (56mm and 80mm). Therefore you'll have no wide angle for your Canon R50 except the 15-35mm f2.8L lens that you mentioned. I'd wait for the Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 and the Sigma 16mm f1.4 for APS-C (Canon RF) to come out this fall or later. This will be a good option for the R50. (Note that the Canon RF-S 10-18 f4.5-6.3 isn't very good as you said about the kit lens 18-45mm.
    Peak design has some great products for your cameras I agree fully on that.
    I'm no fan of joby any more. When using other tripods with arca swiss plate (like the little plate by Peak design) then you must get rid of the joby plate first. That why I bought an arca swiss head for my joby tripod. But I now prefer my small Leofoto MT03 (now there is even a bigger MT04 awailable)! This fits perfectly in every small photo bag. Another option would be Novoflex if you like the system.

      @@SeedubsMedia How does it feel with the 15-35 big beauty on there? I was going to use the RF 100-400 on it for the extra reach, but wasn’t sure if it was too big for the body or not?

      @@SeedubsMedia I've hit my first issue with the R50 sadly. It seems to be a big one too. I use DxOPhoto Lab, but it only supports this camera in JPEG, I need RAW. So I tried ON1 Photo RAW 2023, which is my back up - no dice, doesn't recognise the CR3 files either. Finally, I try trusty Lightroom Classic - nope, unrecognised file format - any ideas?

    Is an external mic necessary to video a live band in a small venue? Thank you!

    • @SeedubsMedia
      @SeedubsMedia  5 месяцев назад

      Hey mate I would definitely use a small mic. Even just a small rode mic. But turn your mic settings down to plus 1 for a band.

      @TheRockRoomPhilZuckerman 5 месяцев назад

      Sound settings to plus 1 on the vu meter instead of -12?@@SeedubsMedia

    • @SeedubsMedia
      @SeedubsMedia  5 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry I always struggle explaining things clearly. Manually turn down the gain on your mic to zero so it cannot pic up any sound then just increase it by one increment. Because the band will be so loud it will blow the audio out.
      This is how I record loud music.
