Hello beother; i have a question, is the stock lens for the Canon R50 decent for background blur for making RUclips videos, talking head videos basically? Thankyou
Thanks for asking - the standard 18-45mm lens is not a fast lens with a variable aperture of ƒ4.5-6.3 so it is near on impossible to achieve a blurred background if you're talking in frame. The Canon RF 16mm comes in at ƒ2.8 will do a better job being a faster lens. To achieve a blurred background the lens needs to open up as wide as possible. This might mean you need a ND filter so the image is not over exposed. I use variable ND filters that work well. With Canon allowing other lens manufacturers access to the RF mount we may see some great lenses from Sigma and other manufacturers soon. Hey - just has a quick peek at your channel - you have a great camera presence. Good luck with your RUclips journey and thanks for watching :)
@@cre8r61 thankyou brother, I truly appreciate the help, I'm a super noob with all this camera spec stuff hahaha, I'll see about buying a good lens tomorrow 🙏 Also thankyou for the compliment, excellent videos by the way!
I think I'm a little late to reply but another good option would also be the lens Sigma is releasing soon for APS-C cameras, it's 18-50mm F2.8 so basically like a better version of the kit lens with a wider aperture range for better low light pictures
With that camera bag I'm worried of back pain. Sling backpack isn't better? I started making a list of wanted accessories yesterday and beside SD card, battery, backpack I was also thinking about tulip head for lens, UV lens and SD cards case. About lens, which from old system is best from 50s that you recommended here?
@@cre8r61 Thank you, Darren. I ended up purchasing the Parrot Padcaster and the Ring Expansion Kit since the teleprompter doesn't include the 49mm size. Thanks again.
I don’t have the R10 so I’m going to say the R50 is a great choice. The limited edition twin lens kit for the R50 is great value with the kit lens and the 55-210mm zoom. Thanks for watching as I appreciate it
