Your ability to effectively explain each map and subtly alter your voice while reading Earth's message is exceptional!.... Way to keep your viewers intrigued, BigMac!....
For anyone who is playing the version where the lift behind the rocket launcher at 6:50 doesn’t appear. The way to get to the ledge with the backpack is this: Go to the center area where the red key was. From this point do a full sprint all the way to the ledge. You will make it onto the backpack area….and will be able to proceed with the level.
I love this map! I tend to be a big fan of maps that have a central area with other areas branching off of it, like Tricks and Traps and The Citadel. This map has a nice flow, interesting secrets and a chance to get ahead on ammo
I think BigMacDavis has some pretty strong vocals :d If I was a Strategy game developer, I would certainly want to offer/request BigMacDavis to voice one of the units :D
I recently found out, that in the BFG edition they got rid of the name O' of Destruction and changed it to Circle of Death. I like how you did the sensor voice at the end :-D
And who actually did that port. 'Cause from what I know the Xbox Live Arcade port was done by Nerve software and the BFG edition version is actually a port of the Xbox Live Arcade version.

Hey BigMacDavis, as usual quality work! Nice touch at the end with the scripting voice. I did not realise there was a hidden wall in the room with the Arachnatrons, now I know why I could not get 100% items. The maps coming up really step up the ante in the difficulty level and I really like this in Doom 2, there are some hard yards ahead for Doom guy!
The difficulty at this point will only get harder. We now enter the city-industrial maps of Doom II, and this will extend until Map20. A lot of well done maps exist in this series of maps. They will be fun.

Hi BigMac, love watching your Doom walkthru videos, very entertaining. I started constructing a Doom II map over 20 years ago, I just recently found it and decided to finish it. Is there some way I could send it to you to test out?
It's funny the difference between the map names on the ending screen and on the automap. But yeah, this map is very good to play. I liked your narration of the story at the end, with an improvised radio effect when you were reading the message of Earth control. If your career on RUclips fails, with a strong and "sexy" voice that you have, you can certainly work on radio, be a dubber or even an actor, lol. Anyway, nice video, my friend!
Why, thank you, I appreciate that comment very much, my friend. I've always wanted to do something with my voice, and if I didn't have RUclips, I probably would have gone to college to be a stage actor. Or work for my local radio stations. But I am so happy to be here on RUclips instead.
***** I've heard something somewhere, that the middle area where you blew up the gunners (where the red keycard is), a Cyberdemon was originally placed there in some early versions. is this true?
Definitely one of my favorite maps. The area with the archvile is my favorite part of it. My least favorite part of it is that there are 2 pain elementals.
1:50 I don't know if you will see this, or if you already found this out later, but a weird quark about Doom idle states is that if the enemy flinches on it's second idle frame it will not react to the player and continue to idle. That's why the revenant did not react.
You're right. It wasn't until years after this video, thanks to decino's analysis videos, I learned of this. I actually demonstrate this in one of my more recent Doom Zero videos. Thanks for the comment.
+BigMacDavis using your videos to help me defeat Doom AND Doom II on the Xbox 360 version for the achievements and I'll be using your guides for Wolfenstein 3D as well and they are amazing, best walkthroughs I could find :D

Oh, and you kinda use your muffled voice to disguise as the radio communicator, just when Doomguy thinks his suicide mission is over. And you still press on through the fray. Anyways, nice vid. :)
For the story intermission I'm guessing the Cannibal Mutations apply to the zombiemen, shotgunners and chaingunners, the Carnivorous Aliens apply to most of the monsters and the Evil Spirits apply to the Lost Souls and Archviles.
The beginning of this map is emblematic of why I so dislike Doom 2 compared to Doom 1. “Here, were going to suddenly throw you into a situation where there are dozens of enemies in front of, behind, to the left and to the right of you.lol u got trolled isn’t my map great?” The rest of the map is actually really fun in my opinion , it’s just that by the time I make it to this map I’m exhausted by the the sudden hordes of enemies. In my opinion it is more interesting to use smaller number of enemies that complement each other well while lowering the amount of resources kind of like the first four maps of episode three of Doom.
Solid gameplay my friend :D As for the name of the map, maybe ID decided to call it Circle of Death because of the way the player is surrounded with no cover at the start of the level so they choose that name would be more appropriate, not to mention the obvious reference to the center of the map that is, indeed, a circle lol. I can only see one reason why they didn't change the name on the automap ... the name change was probably done at the last minute before the release of the game and they forgot to change the name on the automap. Many times when programmers are limited in time they have to rush their work and of course they can forget about small details. Of course we could speculate about it for hours but honestly i'd like to know exactly why.
You have a wonderful explanation. That indeed makes a lot of sense to me. Perhaps id Software had two names in mind for the map. They may have decided on O of Destruction early in development, but as time went on, they decided to change it, only they forgot to change it on the AutoMap.
6:50 Weird how on the Gameboy advance version I’m playing…the wall behind the rocket launcher doesn’t lower to get to the backpack. You have to run across to the backpack from the circle.

Funny, on the Gameboy Advance version is says you have won after the factory, not this level. I think it's an error, because the Factory is on Earth, contradicting the "You Won" text
BigMacDavies, greetings from the UK. Your videos on all the Doom games have been thoroughly entertaining. Please keep it up :) I have one question for you. How did you get ZDoom and whats the best way to obtain it? I haven't played TNT: Evilution or The Plutonia Experiment and I want to experience both.
ZDoom can be downloaded for free from zdoom(dot)org(slash)Download. However, to get ZDoom to run, you need to own at least one of the Doom games. If you do, go into their folder, and extract the Wad files (doom.wad, doom2.wad, tnt.wad, and plutonia.wad), and then stick them in your ZDoom folder.
Very strange that the Revenant at 1:50 didn't react to your rocket. I know a barrel explosion can be harmless under certain conditions but here they didn't seem to be met. (doom.wikia.com/wiki/Barrel_explosions_which_do_no_damage)

I recently got back into the Doom-verse in the last few months, and I have to say this playlist was a good find. I've liked watching so far.
In one of the versions there is an Arachnotron stuck in one of the trees before you get to the Arch-Vile area
Haha, that's funny! :D
Funny, on the Gameboy Advance version is says you have won after the factory, not this level. I think it's an error, because the Factory is on Earth, contradicting the "You Won" text
umm..how did I get %102 kills on this map? is it from the dude who raising the dead and me killing them again?
That extra 2% comes from when the Arch-Vile resurrected the imp, it's counted as a rekill of sorts, and counted as extra percentage.
+Robert Morin oh ok thanks.
hidden Soul Sphere,very handy
In Map 24, There is a Cacodemon Shop.
Thank you very much :) please continue the great walkthroughs. I am nearly done with Ultimate Doom E4M8 :)
Awesome. Playing through Doom is an amazing experience.
Yes it is and your walkthroughs have made the experience so much better. Thank you so much!
No problem. I'm glad you like them.
I managed to skip the blue door. You can strafe run off the high platform to the red key.
Ah, BigMac shows you don't even need to strafe run it!
In the area with the revenant, the switch is there, but there's no way for me to get to the nearby platform.
Very strange that the Revenant at 1:50 didn't react to your rocket. I know a barrel explosion can be harmless under certain conditions but here they didn't seem to be met. (doom.wikia.com/wiki/Barrel_explosions_which_do_no_damage)
I've only seen it happen to other enemies a few times in my life. Funny I caught that during a recording.
