Literally did the exact same thing saturday, got about 100 and some change out and enialated the tire at the 1-2 shift. I programmed a timing pull at the shift for 1 second. I had a pretty agressive ramp in it. Commanding 30 on the gate at 1sec. I pulled 9 degrees just before the shift and ramped it back un over the 1 second. It was alot to pull out but I wanted it to go. This week I'll lower that number and find the limit. On the 2-3 I pulled 5 and my traction control pulled 3 but it took it so ill actually pull 6.5 from the 2-3 this time to try to keep it off the traction control. Very similar combo, when I pull the timing it usually makes a couple more lbs of boost for a split second as a fair warning. Mine went from 28 to 30 in that second, I havent gotten her turned up out the back door yet, we are planning to add a little more this weekend and get out the back door making 32 where this week we were at 28. I only have 4" of extension travel in my front shocks and have found that if I top them out at about 1.7 into the run that's my sweet spot, no wheelie, no unsettling the rear.
Going back and forth from no prep/street to track racing seems like a ton of work and lot of brain power keeping track of so many variables. Also shout out to Milton and Randy for being awesome crew guys!
dont go to radials just because your set up is right for radials, set up for the surface.....slicks with the correct set up is correct for the surface.....the hard part is changing the setup back and forth and being fast off the trailer! I have faith you can do it. It's the fastest on that surface on that race that wins, and you need to adapt to be THAT winner!
What happened to only running it on no prep this year?? Haha enjoy watching you always making changes trying to be as fast as you can on a certain surface. Keep up the good work!
John, looked to me like the boost was really building right as the front end reachs the limiter. Maybe a snubber or bungie to cushion/Slow the top out of front suspension . Wheelspin starts when weight xnsfer stops suddenly . And get that win light .
Have you done a comparison of the mickey thompson et drags vs the hoosier dbr they seem to have a simular build with the exception of one being a radial
With the anti squat in it, go with radials :) did you see maktv had the parachute break off the car towing from the weight hanging on it. Thats what the 2nd car now to break the weight off...
Seems if you are running a slick on a radial prepped surface you are going to be behind the curve against guys running radials. We all know radials are faster than a slick if the surface has a lot of glue.
Thanks guys!!
Love to see that car run!!
Good job man
Hell yeah! It was badass meeting you and watching this thing!!!
I'm with Milton. Radials FTW lol.
Dam car a rocket..
Go TJ.. You'll get it figured out
Good Video!!
See ya tomorrow!
That hit where u lit the tire and hit it.... was a rio
That's cool, you got out of it around the 200ft mark or so, and ran a low 6! Impressive.

another awsome vid man. love the info. i cant wait to try no prep
Ooooh wwweeee... Gotta tame that beast !
Any suggestions on how to spool a standard shift car.
Can't wait till you get the other car going
I believe you will figure it out.
That’s a beautiful facility!
I say try the radials but what do I know?

Radials
Saw you guys out there. Was gonna stop and say hi but you guys always looked real busy. Now I know why.
We were struggling for sure, but stop by next time for sure
Video quality is much better. Now go out and put those slicks to work!
Your right needs more weight transfer.
Keep getting after it man. We appreciate all the Support. And look forward to catching up with you soon! ~Ernie M.
Milton is da man. More comments pending after viewing vid.

Knew that air pressure too much. At first run
Hope you make it to Ohio for the NPK!
Why is this all start out as the same video from yesterday?
That track looks slicks we’re you got out there spinning.
Think it was the car, track was pretty tacky
Just think how much further along the new car would be if.....
I keep telling myself the same thing, lol

I was about to say the same thing. Just curious y testing on prep track
Cause he’s trying to decide if he will go to no prep kings Ohio . Which is a front of the track “no prep “

I’m putting full travel back in

I tested the Hoosier last year, was a great tire
Never heard radial surfaces ???
It's just drag radial prep. Really sticky, a lot of glue.

Wow, that sucks
Gettin' run over is not an option. When the track gets that hot...slip-slidin'-away. It's greezy.
Slap some 275 pros on it John for this race. Borrow Randy's ^.^
just my opinion maybe drop boost a couple lbs on 1/2 shift to soften the hit
Uhm excuse me sir, is that car still a four lug?
Are you running a sbf ?
SBC
I think you should shift later not sooner.
listen to Milton
It's not the suspension
Take power out right before the shift , after the shift bring the power back faster 🤔
Back to 27 views on the same pass again I see
It’s what we do, lol
@@TurboJohnRacing still love your channel and have much respect for you and your crew!
Better get that shit right. That S-10 from Ohio is back. An on kill. He's coming for SUM. lol

That sudden zoom in @ the sixty foot hurts my head, completely unnecessary and hard as hell to see whats happening with the car
Furst
This is Incredibly Easy; Dump the MT's and use Hoosier. Simple....
I had no luck with the Hoosiers on a stickier surface
